The pool was empty. The slides were bare. The docks were creaky. The rides were nowhere.
The games were gone. The signs were down. The chairs were missing. The shows weren’t around.
This was the last look I got to take at Coney and the world needs to see.
Where Coney Had It and where all the fun used to be.

I lived my whole life in a home 300’ from Coney’s front gate on Sutton in the 50’s after dad built a new home after becoming a Cincinnati Firefighter. My grandpa was born in a cabin within the park when it was called Parker’s Grove. His father had a small pony track, and was caretaker for the Grove in off season. My grandpa also ran the canoe’s on Lake Como, and responsible for getting the old wooden canoes changed over to the aluminum ones built by the Grumman company in the 40’s. Grandma was head cashier for Moonlite Gardens. I never paid for ride tickets, Sunlite pool, or food at the main cafeteria in my life. The island in the middle of the lake was once huge.

Beautiful historic Coney! I don't believe it will be last look! Coney will be saved! Our community needs this pool! What a treasure to Cincinnati!

Shame they closed this used to have family reunions there. And pictures someone stole in 2017. FKRS. Have a good one
