- This is it, the final tournament of this series. Alex brings us a punishing 200cc tournament and I was hoping to end things on a fun note. But that's not what we got here. Pretty much a Trash Combo 200cc tournament which was not a fun ride at all.

Week 24: the finale
I decided to not play in tonight's tourney, because a) I had to miss the first 10 minutes for dinner, and b) it wouldn't have mattered anyways, as the only way it would have made a difference was if I had won (and given that I had already missed 10 minutes, that wasn't going to happen). It's sad to see you didn't make the top 12, I was rooting for you!
Through the highs and lows of it all, I'll say I enjoyed the Champions Tourney. I improved the level of my play quite a lot from playing with you guys, as y'all are give much greater challenge than worldwides can provide!
This series had its highs and lows for sure. I would've made it in, but Jeff and Tiffany both made sure that didn't happen. Better luck next time I suppose. I feel like I've gotten better too, though I still don't have respect from some of my peers.
Before kicking off any commentary, I have a time trial specifically for your eyes only (at least until all of the ones I want Alex to showcase that have been mentioned in my stand-alone comment on his stream tonight have been showcased). I don't know if it was the difference in our angles to get to 10 coins early or if it was the difference in how we took the S-turn each lap, but I managed to narrowly squeeze past your time on Mute City and I'm pretty sure we handled the rest of the race the same, so if it wasn't either of those factors, it would have to be the difference in our combo builds. Give it a look, compare it to yours, and let me know what you think was the difference in how I managed to get the faster time there.
Ah, Alex's 200cc Koopa Clown, Slick tires, max Speed drivers tournament. This one didn't live up to its "ridiculous" build-up, as you've seen more ridiculous from Kefka Palazzo during Wave 5. **cough** Cushion tires. **cough** If external factors had permitted me to compete tonight, I'd have gone with Wario (for the horn, and with Funky Kong as the alternative, I know you'd like Wario better 😆) and the Cloud Glider (but switch to Bowser Kite if I anticipate a lot of underwater racing).

This race had to be at Father Boo Circuit DS. It's the only explanation I have for him invading your item space as frequently as he did. I counted 3 times, and there may have been one that I missed, *ON THIS RACE ALONE!*

After the pain you experienced in this tournament, hopefully this is a good way to close out my commentary. 😄
The only thing I can say about my Mute City Time Trial is that it is definitely old and I haven't touched it in a long time. In fact after looking at it, it is definitely a "Pre-Wave 4" time trial so there is actually a huge difference between the stats of our builds. I first did it in response to what Stickman (at least I think it was Stickman) did way back when and haven't touched it since. Ancient Time Trial. That's still a good time you posted though by my standards.
Ridiculous? More like PUNISHING. That combo handled horribly and refused to turn. Not to mention that awful Mini Turbo Stat. Why, Alex? WHY?!

Instead I'm likely going to put the finishing touches on the end of season video and release it on the 7th in place of the Mirror Tournament. Then I'll return for the trash combo tourney.

Late-night distractions are why I'm replying "late", and insomnia (hopefully temporary) is why I'm not delaying this response until after noon.
I figured your Mute City time was old, and I'm glad you consider my time to be good. It was one of several courses on which I had been on the TT grind, and I think I hit my actual peak there unless/until I want to take a shot at another of F-0 Hero's cool shroomless cuts.
At least the Koopa Clown wasn't to blame for the abysmal Acceleration, Handling, *and* Mini-Turbo stats, though it clearly didn't help Acceleration, unfortunately. For comparison's sake, Mr. Scooty is only +0.25 on Ground and Air Handling and +0.5 on Mini-Turbo and Anti-Gravity Handling.

Roy at the Mall would have handled even worse, considering the statistical differences between Badwagon and Koopa Clown [as well as Hot Monster tires and (Cyber) Slick tires, to a lesser degree]. But at least voluntarily choosing a combo is more fun than having multiple components forced.

This is true, and even though I spotted the sleeping Wiggler on all 3 laps, there was never a good spot to timestamp on either of the other laps because of how far away the sleepyhead was in both cases.

I don't recall time trialing at New York, haven't touched it in single-player for at least 2 waves, and almost always take the 🍄 cut against live competition, so I'm almost never in a good spot to attempt the glider... which is why it's so easy for me to forget it's even there.

As for the end-of-season video, I'm definitely looking forward to seeing how many cameos I make, and with what combos as well. Off the top of my head, I only know of Scooty Puff Sr. in Week 3, but I'm sure there are others.
Then there's the Trash Combo tournament. I'm thinking of bringing a spooky variation of Tour Guide's Maple Treeway combo then, provided all of the parts I have in mind are legal for the tournament.
I thought I missed one or two of these videos from Wave 5. Did Alex not have a tournament on July 13 or July 20, or did I watch your videos despite not attending Alex's streams after Wave 5 dropped before coming up with a Mii of Kefka Palazzo? 🤔
Rip Heavy Mii for not being allowed in the tournament. I can’t believe I made it in the final 12, mostly using the Master Cycle. I’m very sorry you didn’t make it in the final 12, but there’s hope if some people can’t make it!

Things could've gone better. Remembering that I came close to winning week 18 with Rosalina and the fact I missed week 21 is killing me inside.

Stats-wise, a Heavy Mii shares the same strengths and weaknesses as Dry Bowser, Funky Kong, and Wario, so I think the reason the Heavy Mii was deemed ineligible was because you'd need eagle eyes to tell the size difference between a Medium and a Heavy. Obviously a Light Mii sticks out like a sore thumb against the eligible drivers, but a Medium Mii could slip past unnoticed if only casual eyes are watching.
If Heavy Miis were eligible, and if I didn't have such a mess with my IRL circumstances today, I might have used my Mii on my Madrid Drive time trial (instead of Wario, who in my stand-alone comment I said I would have used if I had been competing).
