My 82 P has a small filled in P ,definite obverse doubling ,,doubling on the reverse and the edge has a crack running throughout most of the edge!

Yes, you enlightened me. I know Blueridgesilverhound saves the 1983 (he also started saving the 1982 as well). When he collects enough to make a quarter roll and he then sells them for 2 to 3 times the value online. I should be almost at a full roll soon, then I will try my hand at selling online with eBay.

@@dinamariepope They didn't make mint sets in 82 or 83. That means if you need one for you set you have to buy a business strike or a coin meant for circulated. Alot of folks would buy a mint set and Crack the mint unc coin out of the package . Can't do that for these 2 yrs.

I would like ro learn about best practices in handling coins as well as help people that inherited but have no idea what they may be worth sell the to collectors to get the highest value by providing the necessary steps to sell their inherited random, ungraded coin collection that have a variety of old coins, sets of coins like Morgans but are not mint sets and many in uncirculated condition and some that may have errors

I got one in my change,it's a double die obverse. Off center strike,doubling on border top 3/4 around top. Way cool.

You always give us good information, but you never tell us where to go to verify and sell them.

Your coin probably came in contact with something that caused the gold toning I don't think a real gold quarter would turn up turn up in circulation. Then again I don't even know if there are gold quarters.
The idea is to do some research. watch more shows like this that show you how to grade coins. Once you get an an idea of how coins are graded then you can compare your coins to those that have been officially graded by NGC or PCGS. Once you find a Coin that you think is in mint state, show the coin to people who know about grading such as your local coin store and get their opinion. If you get several opinions that say your coin could grade at mint state then you might consider sending it to be officially graded and slabbed. Basically until you send it in to the professionals to be graded it's kind of a guessing game. Even professional coin dealers can send in a coin they think is in mint state but when they get it back, they find out that it did not pass the grade to be mint state. But if you decide to pay the money and send it in to a grading service and it comes back graded in mint state, then you can likely sell that coin for much more than then a similar coin that has not been graded. This is what I understand, and I hope it answers some of your questions.

I have a 1982 P that is in great condition but it is a lime green to a yellow gold color. When I say that I mean looking at it it looks lime green but when I took a picture it looks like gold yellow. It is a beautiful coin.
I have 9 81,82,83 good condition I think I have 1960-1970 70-80-80-90 + alot of errors and coins from around the world I need to find a collector asap. I won't be able to collect them anymore temporarily but they need a better home.

On one of those 1982 quarters, the Philadelphia mint mark looks like it was stamped too deep.
I'm the leaves on the back of the quarter on the very bottom Edge how many are there to be on either side because I've got some quarters that have 15 and I have some to have 17 and others are 14 so I'm not sure which is supposed to be the real amount of the leaves so if you could let me know I'd appreciate it thank you.

I just got a 1982 Denver Quarter in pretty good condition. Everything stands out really well, very few scratches. The outside markings around the edge of the quarter are still mostly visible with some ware and softening on some parts of the edge. I may have to look up a grading manual for quarters. I also have a 1983 in pretty good condition, the lettering looks a little more worn though. More used.
