    Would love to hear a story about egg donors, sperm donors and people who chose to be surrogates. Being an egg donor is like going through part of the IVF medical process and is taxing on the body and not without risk. Same with surrogates. I know plenty of people whom have gone through IVF and I feel for people whom are desperate to have kids (but would prefer not to adopt), but I wonder about the ethics of egg donation, sperm donation, surrogacy. I would imagine that most people who donate their eggs, sperm, become surrogates do it bc they need the money, but I could be wrong. Would love to hear the other side of the story.

    reproductive freedom is not free. it is complicated and costly and time consuming. to have a child or plan for a child on the female side.

      when roe verses way paved the way to deal with an unwanted pregnancy. a step forward for legalization of termination of an unwanted pregnancy.
      with the reversal of rowe vs wade. the supreme court has set women's reproductive right back more than 50 years.
      it is a very controversial issue. when is life viable?
      is it when the female egg is fertilized or when the 9 months of shake and bake in the female womb and the female expelles a growth that can breathe earth air on a birthday.
      my humble opinion and my perspective is from a male brain. the male half of a baby dna. is a very small part of the female reproductive process. it is the dna necessary to make the female egg complete in a full compliment of dna. basically the male sperm is need to fertilize the female egg. when it happens the female has to deal with the growth until it can breathe air. and traditionally it is another 18 years or life time commitment to the baby as it grows.
      the sperm donation can come from a physical connection of physical sex between a man and a women that sex can last as short as 5 seconds or evolve into a life long commitment called love and mutual parenting. but where do we draw the line? i don't know except in a court of law.
      then we have semi anonymous sperm donation. the sperm can be donated and analyzed scientifically for some genetic abnormalities. in many cases the female will be asked for what traits that the woman wants from a man to add to her half of genetic traits. some traits can be identified. like blood types and blood typing is a requirement for a marriage license.
      since i am not a reproductive specialist i do not know of the complications that arise from a not good union of sperm and egg. but down syndrome and other genetic complications come to mind. and some complications appear later in life like dementia and Alzheimer's and other brain disorders. the male donation of sperm is a micro dot of dna in the life of a child.
      since dna can be donated in many ways rape, incest, a consensual or non consensual intimate on tap donate anonymous semi anonymous or as a known donor without intimate contact. so my thought the male donation is only a drip in the life of the growth of the fetus and the birth of a child whether be it through the birth canal or via a cesarian (c) section.
      during the 9 months of incubation and the growth of cells until the woman's body says to expell the grown fetus that is ready to breathe earth air and live a life of a human being.
      more on the female side of the male female equation later. please note this is my opinion and should be consider just an opinion and the fundamental basis of america is a freedom of speech. your choice is to agree or disagree. if you disagree i would be interested in your opinion. then i can chose to change my opinion to be more aligned with your opinion. or maybe we chose just to disagree and let it be.

      They want it illegal, because it is technically a life that is frozen, so it becomes an ethics question. The US is probably the most radicle in the way IVF is done. Other countries only allow a maximum of 3 eggs and you must implant them all, so there are no left overs.

      @Dagmar transferring 3 embryos is incredibly dangerous and can easily result in 3 or even 4 babies which is dangerous the mother and the babies. Not sure why you think freezing embryos is an ethics question. If you don't want embryos to be frozen then the US needs to make it much for affordable. 12 to 20k dollars with no possibly of freezing extra for the future is ridiculous.

    • @dagmar9019
      @dagmar9019 Před rokem

      @@rebeccazeman9309 it’s an ethics question when you believe a life was created and then frozen. Possibly forever. Not to mention IVF pregnancies are always considered high risk, so intentionally putting women at risk also doesn’t seem entirely healthy. IVF is a very complex topic with factors most people don’t think about. People should wait to do IVF until they have a full idea of how it works.

    Famous comedian froze 30 eggs at 38 and only one embryo took. Kourtney Kardashian said freezing eggs caused her to go into early menopause. You need to freeze at least 100 eggs to be on the safe side. And embryos are more viable than just freezing eggs. Also eggs only last 10 years frozen. It's a waste of money.

    • @sxonly
      @sxonly Před rokem

      Not true woman are born with hundreds of thousands of eggs to use. Taking 10 or 20 during a cycle is not going to put you into early menopause. The eggs don't last 10 years they last indefinitely you can freeze them and 40 years from now and produce a child from them. The 10 years only came about because the UK only let women store them for 10 years- not that they're only good for 10 years. The report stated that you need about 25 eggs to produce one child on average. Nowhere does it state they need a hundred eggs to have a kid. Also 38 is a little old to be doing egg freezing which is why they didn't get optimal results. Ideally you want to do it 35 or younger. The older you do it the less viable embryos you will get.
