I hope that things went well with the colonosopy, Janiece you have alot on your plate right now, be kind to yourself. Paul hope you are feeling better. I hope you get good news from your doctor.
Your absolutely right, I’m trying to not get overwhelmed so easily
Paul, I am so glad you and your wife had good news about your Colon.
Yes! We were so happy
I agree about "twilight" sedation. A very nice nap
Exactly…..
Great news!!
Yes! Thanks for being apart of our adventure
You guys are so well
Awww thank you Louise and your amazing yourself!
I kind of like this video You're colonoscopy went well I see the doctor said the color was doing fine and I know how happy you were Paul and I think Janice was happy too it was a very good video keep them coming keep these good ones coming
Thank you Judy, it means so much to us that you loved our vlog
Great news! Glad that they didn’t find any blockages, your colon is getting healthier again 😉 I think sedation depends on the patient and what doctors do in every country…
Thank goodness it’s been a long journey
Watching Janice change your bag was funny.
Really🤣, how. She does a lot of silly faces when she changes my bag 🤪
When I had mine I was wide awake I kept saying Ouch and crying in pain seeing blood squirt everywhere from the biopsies. I have another one coming up next month I'm anxious for it and dreading the prep but at least its only 2 packets and not a giant jug this time
Oh wow, can you ask to be sedated?
I'm glad that Paul is doing well and he got a clean bill of health.
I don't know if you have one of these but I purchased a 7-IN-1 Farberware inst-a-pot. Because I am legally blind and use a powerchair and have limited mobility I wanted to know if you had one of these and if you do could you please make a video on how to cook a fully cooked turkey from Costco in one? I know I once saw a video that Jaquie once made about how she once made something in her Inst-a-pot but I don't think that she cooked a turkey in hers.
Oh yes, we have one! It’s amazing
When I was sedated to have my wisdom teeth removed. It started as like pins and needles all over then it was hard to finish my sentences and thoughts and that’s all I remember before nap time 😂
Right😂🤣 our hearing goes out, it’s so weird
heyy im glad ur procedure went well paul ❤️and 1-2 months ago i had an upper endoscopy for my gastroparesis they did botox and other stuff for my gastroparesis it helped for awhile now back to having pain and vomtiting my gastro said the botox can wear off ill he seeing her in january to talk to her about that it did wear off now and when they put me under tho for my upper endoscopy the pain in my arm where the y put the IV in the operating room burned so bad
Oh wow, did you get Botox again for treatment?
I had several colonoscopies without any sedation or painkillers before my surgery, it depends a lot on how skilled the endoscopist is
Oh wow, we had no idea.
Good news
Exactly! Time to celebrate
I'm so glad the Entyvio is working and the Crohn's disease appears to be in remission.
Thank goodness 🙏🙏
Have you guys ever discussed how sushi’s nickname came to be?
Yes we did. Janiece just named her sushi to replace her love for sushi since she couldn’t eat it during her pregnancy due to the raw fish.
As a Belgian nursing student I can tell you with certainty that a colonoscopy is done under sedation and that you are asleep for it. At least in Belgium that’s how it works. An endoscopy is often done while the patient is awake or at least not fully asleep
Not in Iceland you are a wake most of the time, you leave the hospital after 2 hours from the colonoscopy was done…
I've had both an upper and lower GI and they had to put me all of the way out for those. I today just got out of the hospital after I had to stay overnight because yesterday I had a Punctal Cauterization and they had to completely knock me out.
@@adamguymon7096 I understand, I have had both upper and lower done I was wake for both, it wasn’t comfortable but I got out of the hospital 2 hours later, this is just how it is done in my country…. Everyone has the same insurance so if you stay long in hospital our tax will be higher…
Here in the US, the general anesthesia rules are dependent upon the specific conditions and status health wise. If you are super unstable then you MAY get an iv benzo or nothing except oral meds unless the patient is already on a ventilator for whatever the reason is. If a stable patient, then you typically get either iv or oral meds depending upon a few things- 1. The location of the procedure- Dr office, procedure/surgical center or hospital, 2. The type of monitor equipment available- less equipment= less meds available/given, 3. The type of medical providers available at the location, 4. Allergies and sensitivity to the available medications available (for instance, I have a tendency of of walking into walls face first after getting fentanyl so I make an effort to not get it but if the location stocks dilaudid, then as I know how I react to the IV version and the fact that I am on the oral version under the care of pain management I opt for this), 5. The type of procedure being done and 6. Preferences of the provider administering the meds.
Thank you everyone for sharing the information in different parts of the world. It’s nice for us to be connected in some way
Hi good it went well Paul. I live in Europe and you have a choice of you want to be very sedated or really being anesthetized. And especially when you have known problems like you (and me) then you go to sleep. A lot of people just don’t like the idea of being completely under so they opt for just sedation and a strong painkiller. So it is not like you say that we here in Europe it is barbaric and you don’t get to go to sleep. Thanks for your videos, greetings from the Netherlands 🇳🇱, Linda.
Thanks for letting us know how the Netherlands does this procedure.
