Staged or not, doesn`t change what he said and the point he made. Maybe it`s staged, maybe not. But one thing that`s for sure, is that you an ass, by writing that comment. Keep your toxic and negative attitude to yourself.
Assuming this wasn't planned, this was some great coaching from Simon. That was a very listenable song with good lyrics.

Simon has a superpower of getting some people to stop over-singing a popular song and then show their true talent and originality on the spot in front of everyone.

@@OneTequilaTwoTequila not sure what is "rehearsed". they have to go through a lot of contestants and i think each is told to have 2 songs prepared before going out. they don't have the time to focus on one person over the others.

@@jeffeverett1599 it's not "scripted", but it is heavily produced and edited to show specific narratives of the producers' choosing. pretty much like most 'reality' shows. but the performers are real people who just showed up that day to showcase their talents in an open competition.

My thumb up is for SIMON. He has an unmistakable sense of perceiving every single detail of performance and therefore he's irreplaceable as a judge in the talent show. Simon, you're the best!
Only one time has he messed up which really wasn’t a mistake. I remember he stopped this one girl because she seemed to be rushing it a little. Everyone else disagreed but then she redid it and did even better. He apologized for stopping her but he still made her better so🤷

@@trollomanonmollo I think you're closer to the truth on this. It wasn't "scripted", because that would be defrauding the audience- ALL contestants come with "back-up songs". Someone probably heard him dinking around with that one, and mentioned it to Simon. That, is very possible. And not fraudulent.

This was actually one of the very few times I got mad at Simon. What he said was real and anybody who battles depression knows and feels that point. Those who battle doesn’t want to see sadness and knowing they made everyone forget sadness means the world.
Sure but he was quite pompous as he made that absolutist statement. Nobody cares to see fake confidence, they want to see sincerity.

Simon gets nicer and smiles more the older he gets. Because in the first 4 season of American Idol, he was definitely hard to please, had a scary attitude towards others, and was a perfectionist. I love the older Simon better. He's definitely learned to chill out more and be more accepting of others.

I think some of that had to do with Nightbirde. Her death really hit him hard I think. I think he really loved that girl like his own daughter. At least that’s my perception of it. I think that’s when he really started chilling.

This song is production ready, I'd pay to go see something like this.
It is a good song. I was worried it was going to be another "bro country" anthem to pickups, beer, girls in daisy dukes and bonfires, but it was much deeper and nuanced than that. Good clever emotion-provoking lyrics with visual imagery as he daydreamed about his druthers. And a catchy melody line and danceable, hypnotizing rhythm. And he sings well. The genuine smile that appeared on his face as he was singing his own song -- even before he could realize it was having a positive impact on judges and audience.
I noticed Simon is mean, but truly his opinions has lead to more winners. The nice judges say yes, but then they disappear. Most of these compilations are Simon saving many peoples careers. It looks like honesty isn't appreciate, but the savior of these WATCH WHAT HAPPENS! videos. It sounds mean, but necessary. Simon is truly the hero

Everybody here raving on about Simon, yes, he knows his stuff, but why would he not believe the guy saying that for about 120 seconds he made everybody in the place forget their troubles just for a little while??? That is a very powerful gift and he does it by using something he loves doing.
Believe he wanted to know how he got to the point to where he is, and that about 120 seconds sounds cute, but not the real answer.

Simon should learn boundaries. I can tell Hunter didnt want to talk about it. He put enough of himself into that song. Simon shouldve respected that, not dig for something as if hes a therapist instead of a judge just for the sake of the show views. Another sob story is what Simon wanted because he saw the emotion Hunter exuded during and after his performance.

@@loewph i dont think it is that harmful to those who are not aware, unless of course they also apply their lack of critical thinking to events which would impact daily life. eg fake news. this is just entertainment and of course shows like this can't leave things to chance and definitely need to curate to ensure a cost effective, planned marketing strategy is executed.

I use to think so too lol but surprisingly It’s not staged… in fact that would actually be against the law/rules of the channel and/or program. The only thing that I would say is “faked” is the fact that producers audition contestants first before they audition in front of the judges and then the producers get rid of the TERRIBLE talent but still let some of the bad talent though in order to make the show good. (The shows almost got sued for that process for a number of reasons). I know this information because ALL of the “Got Talent” shows had full blown investigations into the production, judging, and literally every aspect of them (Mainly because of but not all due to David Walliams).
I completely agree with Simon. I understand him trying to play it safe. But believe in yourself.
