I have some friends around and we are picking random tunes for a play list and it goes on all the TV's in different room. everyone done the same thing.. We stopped what we were doing and got lost in her voice. The end ov the vid we all came out to kitchen with water in our eyes
the song she wrote was better than the one she did in her audition. she has a future, if not in singing , it writing. 18 years old and dropping stuff like that?

As a father of daughters, she made me feel the full range of paternal emotion. Pride and awe at her talent, deep sadness at her pain, and the primal urge to destroy the bullies that hurt her. Who would want to harm such a gentle and beautiful soul?

Those who have never been shown that themselves and feel the need to destroy that light that they dont have often due to their own traumas. I think you'd find you end up anting to destroy most bullies parents if you found out what goes on at home. Just as a bullied kid as an adult i very much now know how many of my bullies were abused. This is by no means an excuse or true for every bully even, but in my experience most bullies dont have anyone kind or loving in their life so they are incapable of being that way towards others and are often offended by kind and loving people as its not something they experience and as such feel the need to ruin it to make themselves feel better. Schools and parents need to do better to fix bullying problems.
I’m the middle daughter of 3. My Dad gave me the best gift any Father could give. He taught us that NO ONE was in authority over us and we WERE ABSOLUTELY ALLOWED TO USE DEADLY FORCE to defend ourselves. THAT is what you need to teach your children!!!

@@SwampBarbie Every human is born with confidence, but more can be given and all taken away. If you have the strength, you can take it back yourself, but most (way to often) your confidence will depend on others giving it to you again.. The hen and the egg 🙃But yes she is 👍

As a person who was bullied horribly in grades 7/8, this one really hit home and right in the feels. What a great voice, and her pain, vulnerability and emotion really shine through in her audition. This was fantastic....

Gosh she is so incredibly sweet! Her pain transported so much through her singing and was very captivating as everyone can actually relate in some way. Her original song is brilliant! I hope the world hears more from her in the future.

Wow! I'm a 47 yr old mom, sitting here bawling. It's so heartbreaking that she was so bullied, and has no idea how good she is, how special she is. I'm so so so glad that she got on stage and took a chance... that is a huge move for someone who is not surprised they turned around... but incredibly shocked, and for all of them to turn. Regardless of if she made/makes it, just the reaction of the judges, and the thousands in the stands should be a huge validation for her, the bullies were jealous. You can't teach that talent, but it can be silenced or nurtured... and I'm so glad she chose Delta. She is like a big sister who will be extremely thoughtful and gentle with her support, pushing Mikayla to shine! I love it and I loved her original. It got me, at same place Joe reacted...
So innocently captivating, so genuine, so authentically beautiful. She let her soul open up and spill out for all of us to see. What a gift she gave us.

It's been years since this showing. And Unfortunately she didn't really go anywhere.. she still sings ofc and has a few 10s of thousands of followers but she completely changed how she sings to try and be more "mature and professional" sounding.. personally I think the way she sings here is better than how she does now

What a beautiful soul and voice and talent. Bullying can often lead to suicide if left untreated. I am so happy she dug deep instead and found more of herself. The judges were perfect - everything they each expressed was perfect.
