- In Destiny 2, Solar 3.0 was launched alongside the Season of the Haunted in 2022. Since then, Solar has been a top choice for builds across many activities, both PvE and PvP in the game. Solar has access to some of the strongest sustain and healing effects in Destiny, alongside amazing Supers, and much more. In Season of the Wish, the seasonal artifact and newly reworked exotics sent Solar to even higher peaks. Should Solar be your top choice for builds in 2024? We'll be discussing how the Solar subclass performs on all classes: Hunter, Warlock, and Titan. We will also be talking about recommendations for builds for each class if you want to try a Solar build out for yourself.

Just wanted to say I've really enjoyed this series and you found a niche that no one else was filling! gg
Glad you're liking it! :)
I will be a Solar Hunter until the day I die my final death
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Dudes riding solar so hard that he won’t play prismatic. What a shame.
@@Suigeneris999 Nah we using prismatic with only solar abilities 🔥🔥🔥🔥
I prefer Stasis, personally, but I can’t deny the absolute gem that is gunpowder gamble.
Celestial nighthawk ride or die
For Titan, don't sleep on Ashen Wake, as ugly as it is. You can be a fusion grenade throwing machine with them, get cures off your grenades with a fragment while having them deal nearly as much damage as a rocket.
or just use something... good
@HellenKellerFanClubPresident why isn't it good?
I would keep sleeping on this btw, its honestly quite bad compared to other options like HOIL or Hallowfire heart(as mid as this exotic already is)
@Luke973T My personal problem with Ashen Wake is that it scales like ass, and you only get grenade energy back on KILLS, not use or damage. Or even just passive regen. So if you whiff even one of the grenades you want to be chucking a shitload of, you've broken your loop and thus don't have an exotic until your grenade comes back. 😅
Turns you into super mario
Ophidia Spathe's rework has been really fun for PvE. Tons of ignitions and it's such a satisfying game loop. Definitely should have been mentioned!
I love the healing grenade on solar and would love to see more support based grenades like it for other subclass elements in the future.
For titan you failed to even mention hammer strike, but i would like to mention (as its my favorite build period) the solar shoulder charge with peregrine greaves build is one the all time strongest titan builds out there with sol invictus and roaring flames, just as many ignitions as consectration while also able to one shot any champion (and most other things for that matter) , and on the pvp side still can one shot gaurdians and if done correctly can chain-ignite and kill while teams while sunspots give half if it back
A note for burning maul titans in pvp slamming down with the hammer on a well or a bubble will break it a well in 2 and a bubble in 3 unless you can sneak your way into either of them with out being shredded
I'm rocking the stag on my warlock with solar 3.0, and it's helped me complete my first solo dungeon.
Congrats
Back at it again with a banger. ❤
Between the 3 classes, I definitely love solar Warlock the most. Just so much fun with Dawn Chorus, Phoenix Protocol(with ember of combustion), and Sunbracers for the raining solar nades
now that Rewind Rounds is out for Outbreak, I'm gonna try and convince my friends to run Outbreak alongside me to chain infinite wells.
I like gunpowder gamble for the celestial nighthawk build instead of knock em down because i dont need a melee refund and knock em down extra duration for golden gun is not that useful for nighthawk. I find the add clear and added ease of unstop champ stun of gunpowder gamble for specifically nighthawk build. Just it is annoying when it replaces my heal nades
But throwing the gamble, then immediately the healing grenade will most likely give you a max restoration timer
Given you have empyreans on
@@conman0723 I know that but I wish there was a way of being able to select what you throw (e.g. healing nade gives cure too so it can be used as a sort of oh shit button but gamble replacing healing nade makes that harder to do
Not mentioning Star Eater's Blade Barrage is absolutely criminal
Solar warlocks being able to shoot while gliding is crazy in pvp. When used well you can make some crazy plays
I remember there was a time when I first started out where I ran pre-rework Ophidia Spathe before Solar 3.0 just to get infinite fan knives. No other build in mind. I just wanted knives. Once I discovered Caliban's Hand, it became impossible to tear me away from Solar Hunter until Strand came out. Amazed I've survived this long.
Season of the deep was may favorite. My arc hunter and warlock builds were unbeatable. I could get my hunter gathering storm in less than 10 seconds with star eaters. And then on warlock with crown of tempest I had 90% up time on all of my abilities and top tier add clear.
As a titan main, i really really enjoy solar lock its my go to non titan class, icarus dash is so fun. Solar titan might not be the absolute best option for us anymore but it's still a lot of fun and easier than strand since you don't have to worry about maintaining a bunch of stacks for your healing, it's only damage which is important but you can't deal damage if you're dead. You only get restoration from sunspots, throwing hammers give cure.
Try precious scars with solar and ember of benevolence and empyrean, it's absolutely amazing
Perfect timing i just got done with your other subclass videos 😂
Another freaking banger! Lets go
If there's one word I can use to describe Solar, especially this season: Dominant
As someone's name who was based off the hammer of sol when I got the super in D2, yeah it's powerful xD
Can't wait for the state of Prismatic!! 🎉
Arc and Strand have a lot to offer, solar just extra rn because of the artifact
Solar warlock will always be my go too subclass not becuase its probably the best warlock subclass but because its my favorit powerfantasy since D1
Same with sunbraces fav armor exotic since d1
I've been a Sunbreaker main since The Taken King and will continue to be until the sun dies.
I just like the knives and guns for gunslinger
Throwing Hammer pickups do not give restoration. They give Cure.
God that would be op
@iamthereddemon20 Throwing hammer giving restoration instead of cure? Not particularly, having both in your kit is better considering how easy it is to get and maintain restoration, SunSpots for example.
Abilities patch came out and yes, solar will be the best subclass on titan w stasis in final shape
Solar is the strongest subclass imo.
Have health regen and a dmg boost is just wya to strong imo and doesnt let the 9ther subclass breath.
Verity’s brow is currently my favorite exotic to use with solar
For PvP I enjoy solar Titan more I find it funny charging at people wiyh burning maul (most of the time my opponent has sniper ready for some reason”
I’d caution against getting too comfy with restoration. The sheer magnitude of regen makes you basically immortal, which can teach you some very bad habits when it comes to risk assessment, which will be quite problematic if you want to play other subclasses or Bungie nerfs resto into an actually balanced state.
D1 veteran here who played D2 vanilla and then quit (along with all my friends I played with). Now that a lot of content is here for free I have returned to the game, however all my friends I used to play with no longer are interested in the game. How would people suggest I go about finding a community to play with? Been playing a ton of lower level content, but I have the itch to play some higher level content and i know from D1 experience that LFG can be super hit or miss. Any suggestions?
LFG discords and such can be a daunting place (as I'm sure you've heard haha). There's some really great communities that are very helpful to new/returning players. (shameless plug incoming) there are a bunch of great people in my discord who are willing to help teach and play, and I also run community help nights at least once a week on saturdays (8:30pm est) during my livestream. Outside of the "Razeki"-sphere, I know other youtuber communities are pretty great, specifically Mactics' community is all about teaching and helping, so that might also be a good place to look. I also find that in-game fireteam finder tends to be a bit more chill than LFG discords, but it still is a bit of a toss up depending on who joins you
Solar hunter + weighted throwing knife + assassin’s cowl = a better ninja fantasy than void hunter
So true
as a arc warlock enjoyer, i hate the fact that i get forced to do solar, especially on raid
Been using a Rain of Fire build since Season of Deep, smoaks everything exept GMs and stuns all champs without any artifact help.
I am finding it hard to let go of Lucky Pants for the drip alone
Solars just too good. It’s S tier for all 3 classes
its nearly obsolete for titan
@@HellenKellerFanClubPresident are you kidding? Solar titan is still S tier, just because strand isn’t insanely broken on titan doesn’t mean solar isn’t still amazing.
Yes
I would have to say Daybreak has to be the worst super I've ever used for Warlock which is why I was turned off as solar at first
Solar is, imo, the best subclass in the game. To the point of being an outlier. Why run arc if solar does the same, or better, job with ad clear. Why run void or strand for defense when you can just constantly heal?
I wish they would buff the other subclasses 😐.
Damn shame they're nerfing the hell outta Well of Radiance once The Final Shape drops.
Bonk titan for life....maybe some hoil builds but mostly bonk titan for life
Solar & Stasis prismatic build going to lock down the universe at this point
All i know is they need to buff all other warlock supers to feel useable compared to well, and stop nerfing well
"gunslinger" and you only uses knives. oh how i miss the subclass tree identity
Solar Warlocks so much better than the other options I'm sick of it. Bungie's fucking burying Well in Final Shape judging by the patch notes tho, so hopefully the meta will get shaken up
gpg makes or breaks hunter pve. makes the class feel full and rewarding. not to mention works with demo.
As a warlock main, I hate that well is so good that u feel stupid for not running it plz neft more, lol😂
Don’t ever talk bad about gunpowder gamble again, you can enhance the grenade since it counts as an ignition. Talk bad about it again or I’m gonna touch you appropriately.
its because of the artifact mods 🤷🏾♂️ basically, each season our artifact mods dictate what's gonna be meta for that season..its been like this for awhile now..
I don't know what it is about solar titan...but I hate it. Bonk hammer is so lame.
After today, yes lol
Solar's A+ even outside of Season of the Wish. When the season passes into the new episode, Solar will still be there as always.
Makes me kinda sad.
I believe that’s cause solar can be good-great in both damage AND survivability. All the other classes can only really do one or the other outside of BoW Titan
This video will have been rendered completely mute by the time TFS rolls around.
Titans and hunters enjoy being solar while warlocks dislike it.
"Well warlock, what build do you have?"
"Well, obviously, the WoR with sunbracers."
"So the same build for the past 4 years?"
"Yeah"
Hopefully the WoR nerf is substantial.
In fairness Solar Titan doesn't have that many insane builds either on Solar, but it makes up for it with its insane neutral game by itself.
Path of the Burning Steps needs to ramp up with damaging opponents to be viable-it's annoying to stack against high difficulty enemies and the damage bonus is gone way too fast to be super usable in boss DPS. It'll be gone like a third of the way through.
Transition animation :(
Solar is good but very boring to me. This season has been a drag
