To those discussing the rollback of sunsetting - sunset random roll weapons have all still been powercrept as mentioned in the video, so there's still not really a reason to keep them, but there's less reason to dismantle them now.
My god roll crimils dagger begs to differ.
@@Argentoa🤣
"Gone are the days of elemental affinities on armour" this line made me realize just how far we've come with QOL changes on armour.
It shows how bad early designs were. It took them 3 years to get rid of consumable stat mods! I'm glad we're here today, but I won't applaud them for solving the issues that they needlessly created early.
Still very glad we reached this level tho. I don't want to go back!
@@sharktrap267"Our current system is great"
"But more importantly our old system was bad!"
Surprise surprise that a new system had design iterations between different leads. Don't forget that launch under Activision didn't have random rolls, the fact that the devs were able to transform these systems when they were given the chance and then iterate on player feedback absolutely should be applauded.
You aint still got your plus 5 power mods? Lol
@@nikhilsuri99 This guy gets it.
Yeah, I remember paying for changing my mods, grinding for shaders, oh my. 😂
Aegis, you should clean Datto's vault show him how its done
Nah datto better because he doesn't just meta
@@SlongestKongest not better just different priorities
That wouldn't really make sense. Datto has many items that are not the best for the role or optimal at all but he has them because he enjoys using them. I am similar. I keep scouts because I enjoy using them but that doesn't make that decision optimal. Far from it actually as there is no real reason to play from the back of the map in this sandbox.
Datto's decision making comes from a point of a casual or less than optimal player. Not that he's not optimal during worlds first raids or master raids but that the majority of his content is focused around getting people to that point and after that letting them make the decisions for themself.
I’d like to see aegis or datto clean someone like cammy cakes vault
@ExpertRam you can't clean Cammys vault. Every single thing is for a specific build he's already done or a build idea he's working on. Guy min maxes his stats, perks and aspects to a ridiculous degree, it's all needed for what he does.
An advanced DIM guide would be extremely valuable I feel
Seconding this, I'd love to see the quirks of dim
I thought I knew a lot about DIM, but that exotic/legendary split in the vault section looks brilliant - I'd love to know how to turn that on!
I'm here for this.
Absolutely
Ye
8:00 epic, I’m glad this was left in the edit
kingsfall well skate ahh
Honest to God, seeing a new video from Aegis makes me happy. He's the only one among a handful of D2 content creators who'll tell you exactly what is good and what isn't. On top of that, he uses sound logic to explain his decisions. I love that about him.
Thank you!
with how many D2 content creators overhype and glaze every single gun that comes out it's honestly extremely valuable to have someone who operates on the basis of "this is actually probably shit" and does the testing to see if something is actually worth our time
This is literally a life lesson about letting go😭
I hope things get better for you
Embrace the way of the minimalism!!! :D
Vault philosophy is all philosophy
Man, i started one month ago and my vault is at 599
Giving away my old Trust that carried me through my Last Word quest will be like a friend.
A+ video right here 💪
Right after this video, I put into practice the criteria you suggested on using to clean out vaults & ended up acquiring about 150 slots. Much appreciated.
Glad you found it useful!
Thank you for this video! I've been meaning to clean my vault out for a while and this definitely helped me decide on what to dismantle
Been watching your videos recently and really wish I’d found you sooner in my 10 years of watching D2 CZcams content. Well done on this one and every one!
Thanks for the kind words!
Comprehensive and amazingly displayed. Great and super informative as always Aegis!
I soooooo needed this information. My vault is always so full and it takes forever to decide what to keep or dismantle. So much that I play the game less than managing inventory. I mean you can’t throw something out that is one-of-a-kind or gonna be meta someday even though you never used it or haven’t in years.
Clear and cut! Unlike most youtubers with intros the length of this video.
Actually goated video.
Also feel validated in how I play the game day to day. Keeps things nice and tidy and let's me hold on to my trophy rolls without compromise.
I was just doing vault cleaning yesterday and I'm glad to see my cleaning philosophy is almost the same as yours.
Thanks for the video! I'll try to apply some of the recommendations (I definitely need Vault space). One crucial aspect that applies to my case is the fact I barely play now so I have to be more careful than other players when dismantling gear, since my chances of later getting something better or equivalent are small.
Advanced DIM video would be awesome!
wow and i thought i was strict with my vault cleaning. this man is on a whole difference level!!
Good morning Aegis. What a great, clear and concise video. Thank you.
:D
I've seen some people mutilate their builds just to get double 100 stats. It is a horrifying image to see
Usually 2 or 3 stats are all you need. I run max resilience at all times along with discipline. I don't find anything else that useful. On solar you have constant healing no need for recovery, same with void and devour. Mobility on warlock and titan are bad. Strength is pointless on a hunter. Decent on the other 2.
?
@@kh.754double and triple 100 stats isn’t necessary. Most of the builds have a way to get grenade energy back. Plus provide protection like devour. So now I run 90 and 80’s if it means I can add more such to my builds.
@@laurancebell3015 I just find every other stat useless aside from resilience lol. Recovery on anything but solar or void is nice, discipline is just fun for me.
@@laurancebell3015 Strength is useless, Int is worthless past T3, Mobility is limited. Having max Resil Recov Grenade is best for most builds.
Had no intention of wiping my sunset gear before the vid couple days ago. Cleared it, Twab today FML rip orchid.
Bungie has announced their intention of bringing back sunset weapons with reprised versions and updated perk pools so no worries :)
If you weren't using it things already you aren't gonna miss it. And if you're talking about that rampage millclip roll.... it was a meme roll at best. Don't miss it.
I just needed this, goated.
Aegis about to fill that last 200+ with edge transits for that god roll
no they all get sharded immediately
I considered myself fairly organized but your philosophy on armor building was really insightful. Def going to go back and review my armor and do a real culling of the herd. Thanks!
yea im going to do the same when final shape comes out mainly to see how the exotic class items work just get like 3 main sets of legendary armor then get rid of the rest
Glad you found it insightful!
bangers! 100 vault spaces being free straight up. thx Aegis!
Damn boy… this hits so hard. I kept on laughing to myself because I’m guilty on various points. Awesome content as always 👍
Wow, this was cut throat but we all need to hear it. Love the visuals in this vid vs the spread sheets alone. DIM vid would be next level
From 600 to 300, thank you Aegis!
damn it. (referencing the "un-sunsetting" on legacy gear)
I just got rid of a bunch of "god roll" weapons that i just didnt use and dropped my vault from ~390 to just over 200. A big take away from the vid was to get rid of the exotic weapons, I just never thought about dismantling them. Awesome vid much love Aegis❤
I'll definitely look at some of this advice later.
We play very differently, I like to play with A LOT of different underused stuff, so my vault is going to be a little fuller, but the advice will probably be usable for a semi cleaming
Honestly as a D2 console player an advanced DiM guide would help so much. I've used the mobile site a couple of times, and its not only just hard to use in my opinion, but half the time it will tell me that I can't swap out my stuff to the vault for the activity I'm in, despite being able to do it on the D2 Companion app.
aegis video after work, hell yeah
Ngl this whole thing reminds me of 5S. Great breakdown!
Your vids honestly helped me to keep cope rolls anymore
Amazing vid 👍
goated guide i needed this
Great vid & great advice!! You sir have a sub, my problem is when grinding for a weapon i might have 6 or 7 of said weapon because im not sure which rolls to get rid of 🤷🤦♂️
W vid, my vault will be better now.I was wondering are you doing a dps test before and just after final shape for the new raid ?
WARNING OUT DATED VIDEO.
If your watching this from 4/25/24 forward be warned 1:30 he mentions dumping sunset guns because they are sunset, this is bad info. As of Final Shape sunsetting is not a thing those old guns are fair game in all content, everything from that white SMG in the start of red war - brave guns. If you held some of the best from the past say bygones, ringing nail, perfect paradox, inaugural address. Well they are all good to use.
This video aged like a jug of milk in the desert
I don't think it's far to say it's "bad" info. At the time of the video it was accurate. "Outdated" would suit the situation more.
Not bad info, I also say that all sunset PvE weapons have been powercrept now (which they have)
I keep a big collection of adept trials weapons. I’ve had several go through perk changes and result in a new god roll. This has happened with Iggy, messenger and immortal for sure. They’re changing the Mets much more often and it’s good to keep a collection of rolls for adepts as they rotate out.
Thank you for this video
'Stop coping on what-ifs.'
That bit about weapon archetypes is true. I used to keep at least 1 of every element and weapon type and subtype to account for shifting metas.
But after years of that the real lesson is that 'it doesn't actually matter'. I just play how I want and play what I want anyway. I will never like rapidfire pulses, most sidearms, glaives, etc. Even when they do become meta, I dont care and still run what I want. So all that stuff is autodismantle for me, and I've never regretted it.
Agreed!
An advanced DIM guide would be awesome! :)
went from an almost filled vault to a little less than 300! W guide!
Goat aegis speaks, I listen.. sometimes
Loved the video! My favourite vault-clean DIM search term is kills:
I do have an endgame godroll identification video, but yeah I'll probably make more content in this vein in the future
This was pretty nerve wracking and yet 191 released slots later here we are. Amazing video.
For the maintenance part I was genuinely surprised suprised that people send stuff straight to vault
Oh you'd be surprised
Advanced DIM guide would be awesome.
Ooooo, would love to see an advanced DIM tutorial!
Preventing problems instead of fixing them applies everywhere
Nice vid
YES, please make a Dim video. Also, not all of us know our weapons like you do, so I do keep ones that I think may be good. Knowledge is power and I simply have neither.
5:26 THANK YOU! the amount of people that think they NEED to have EVERY weapon possible because "But what if bungie makes XYZ, which is now terrible, actually broken?!" actually scares me.
Like you said, in the past 2 years every season either had a couple of BiS weapons or no shift in the meta at all, and even when it happened the previous option was good for 95% of the content. Just to say, during and before WQ, where LFRs were meta, we got multiple of them back to back, each usually as strong or better than the previous (Reed's, Cataclysmic, Stormchaser, Taipan, Fire&Forget). Same thing happened with Rockets, Waveframes since WQ, Heavy GLs and even with Glaives!
People watch to many clickbait CZcamsrs, and it shows, a lot.
Also, I would love a video about DIM commands/queries. I know some of them but i never really bothered with most, and now that I'm spending all the seasonal engrams i have left in armors sorting and comparing all of them it's becoming very difficult.
As a fellow DIM power user, would love to see a DIM video!
This is fantastic and man I need to go clean my vault but now I’m scared about how much trash I have in there.
Yeah, my actual problem is I'm a buildcrafting addict so like half the guns in my vault are "I wanna try this later because it sounds fun." I never really feel the need to clean down past 550 or so (I have vault spaces, might as well use 'em) so I'm also not really punished for this behavior.
I do think a LOT of people keep guns they will actually never use, and certainly some of those guns in my vault are gonna get dismantled too.
Agreed, a lot of my weapons are for a very specific purpose that I haven’t gotten around to actually trying lmao
My latest endeavor was getting a discord harmony riiswalker for a no backup plan titan build. XD
Glad you followed up with this one ggs
And today we find out sunset gear will now have a sunrise. It's all coming back.
Goat 🐐
awesome video, also legit dim tutorial would be amazing
Hi Eryn :3
@@TheAegisRelic hai aegis :3
There is a dim related feature to make a wishlist which can let you say if a weapon roll is good or bad and I really wish there were a speedrun one but I've got no clue how to build a list with it
Destiny vault cleaner is a great tool. It’s pretty much the only way I clean my vault since you can sort the items pretty well and decide what to keep.
Nice video. I too suffer from a cluttered vault.
one thing i do for infusion fouter is archive them it goes to the bottom and grays it out and i keep only like 3 at a time
Yes please for DIM tips
"kills:0" filter in DIM is also great for getting rid of stuff you don't use
Good suggestion! Plenty of filters out there :P
Hey Aegis, great video! Are you going to update the speedrunner shopping list soon?
It's been updated semi-recently but will likely be updated again when the BRAVE weapon meta settles
Thank you so much for this, I will be honest I'm the type that keep two rolls of every weapon one for PvE and the other for PVP and that is because i love trying new builds and new weapons and because of this I have an issue of keeping my Vault lower than 550, example my Gnawing hunger with double perks is my favorite but i don't run it since there is a better void 600 with Onslaught and repulser and an origin trait, but I can't delete it because it feels rare. After this video I actually might delete most of my weapons because yes, gone are the days with different shield affinities.
On armor stats: your total potential is limited by the stats of the exotic you are building for. You only have 3 legendary pieces to add to the mix to get your total stats…want high discipline but your exotic has 2 dis? Get farming/focusing. My general theory is the same as yours- i only keep armor with 2 str ans 2 mob (except for hunter) and that makes deciding which armor to keep a lot simpler. I am going to make loadouts and then ID exotics that require farming and try to keep legendary armor that is good but needs a better exotic…remember to watch your prisms as you dismantle bad amor bc they dont go to postmaster so turn them into golf balls asap. Also remember about focusing seasonal engrams to farm better armor…and always pick up the seasonal artifact at the beginning of the next season so you earn engrams to farm
Do you just recommend farming out grasp for artifice or is there any other method that can work as well? I end up keeping 20 legendary boots to end up at the stat thresholds I like (but only have 7 artifice pieces that are 66+ across all slots atm)
I farmed during Master Duality's peak so I'm not up to date on the latest stuff but I think Grasp is the way now IIRC
How do you guys maintain good ammo economy with double Special? I usually solo LFG high end content and either struggle maintaining ammo throughout whatever im doing (Onslaught Legend, Raids, GMs, etc) or whatever im running is practically useless against multiple champion types. Am i doing something wrong?
Excellent question. Making sure someone in the fireteam has Cenotaph Mask is a big one, or Aeons if you dislike Warlocks or trace rifles for some reason. Other than that, make sure you have a decent ability loop from your class and subclass (Sunbracers, various Titan melee builds, Combination Blow, etc), and make sure you've got the weapon out that you LEAST want ammo drops for (you'll get more special ammo while holding your heavy and more heavy ammo while holding your special).
Also, certain weapons lend themselves to double special more than others--perks like Lead from Gold or Deconstruct that improve your ammo economy, as well as archetypes like special sidearms and traces that have a better than normal ammo economy (rocket-assisted sidearms in particular are currently progressing ammo finders as fast as a primary, which is much faster than the rate specials usually get).
In raids, you probably want to have a mechanics loadout and a separate DPS loadout, which can help with the ammo economy (optimal buildcrafting isn't gonna do anything if you spent all of your heavy just getting to DPS). Swapping from Forbearance, which clears several adds per shot if needed, to a DPS special like a sniper or Wilderflight that can't do that, is one way you can accomplish this.
I haven't done as much double special since they fixed the heavy drops, but I do run it sometimes. It works fine provided you respect the ammo drop thing and have a very efficient add clear ability engine.
I’d love an advanced DIM guide, but I’d also like to know how you set up your DIM and ingame loadouts for DPS swaps etc if you could also include that?
Mine got full with armor from build crafting I gotta delete them but I need help deleting weapons because idk what is good and what isn’t good
What’s the current highest dps setup on hunter? Is it still rdm and cold comfort?
I'd be stoked if you went through a build guide for the kind of content you play. Specifically mod set ups and such, you've kind of already covered armor and weapons and such.
It's in the works!
Looking forward to the DIM guide
I tag every item I own in DIM, and aggressively use filters and saved searches to do just about everything
Glad to see someone else is annoyed seeing people with every slot in their inventory full lmao
My only real problem is an excess of armour but I'm gonna make a bunch of builds before Final Shape, just for some extra cleaning
I don't really need it, I have around 400/600, but it'll be nice to declutter even more
Can’t wait to do all this work only to ram my vault full of exotic class items
Went from 593 to 280, thanks for the new perspective 😂
Im sitting at about 206 and 90% are crafted and exotics. This helped a bit but i have issues with the 'well what if i need it' I just need someone to sit down with me and go 'do you use this? Yes or No? Do you really need 3 pulse rifles?'
Could you explain why you keep lightweights for pellet swapping but not aggresives? And a bit unrelated, but is the ideal pairing when not looking to double pellet a double sniper setup with supremacy + tumulus or something?
i think they have a higher dps when double swapping because you dont have to wait for it to fire and the higher handling
Highest shotgun swap DPS and decent in roam content, yeah I use BnS Supremacy and Twilight (Tumulus better if you have)
Also shards are going away in final shape, so having a clear out now so you get the shards and put them to use, before they go away..😊
What really sucks is when a really good exotic armor suddenly disappears. Went to the vault to find my Cuirass of the Falling Star, and it was gone. Didnt delete it, and I've noticed yesterday MOST of my chest exotics are just gone.
I would ABSOLUTELY watch a DIM video
Would love to see a vid speerunnning or just ways to make legend onslaught quicker like from the background gameplay❤
I think there are some tips out there/faster farms than us, we just do 1 warlock on Sunbracers/RoF and 2 Orpheus hunters
Weapons are the hardest part to obtain. This game core aspect is getting the right roll so it drives me up walls how much effort is needed for the crafted stuff. All the crafted weapon drops are irrelevant unless the very roll I wanted to craft drops... which will be dismantled to moment i get the pattern. I am using Aegis' spreadsheet to find the "best" weapon type for each element though. Its pretty clear some weapons output more damage so the likes of Ikelos SMG got dismatled now that Subjunctive exists. Happy to flex the only lengendary armor I carry is what I have on. When Duality drops was bugged I farmed the hell out it. Even then though RNG still screwed me over and never got a hunter helm to drop. From there though any armor piece with stats numbers below 66 is auto demolished. Leaves me with just extoics which if it beats my previous copy then i'll infuse it.
Hey aegis could you add edge transit with sticky nades and deconstruct to the dps spreadsheet. I understand its dps won’t be as good but maybe total damage will be good?
Already there
My brother asked me how I'm able keep my vault so clean comparatively, especially regarding weapons, and the first thing I thought of was how certain weapons mean I just don't care about others; the box is ticked, so-to-speak - BxR, for example, has been craftable for a while, and has existed for a little while longer, so any other Solar Pulse is automatically irrelevant to my mind.
I'm also looking for specific combos on things, like I'm really wanting an Elsie's Rifle with Repulsor Brace and and Destabilising Rounds, so I'm scrapping every roll I get that doesn't have that combo.
I want to know what raid mods do you use, great vid
Enhanced Relay Defender, Into the Light, Release Recover, Focused Light, and Taken Armaments are all pretty common
What's this build you're using here with div and semoitician? Can't tell your exotic
Sunbracers / RoF
Ah yes, I can finally clear my vault with 32 items - it was getting out of hand. Thank you Aegis.
what ghost mod should i be running on my warlock when i focus armor?
Res or Disc
Please do a DIM tutorial. I feel like I’ve only scratched the surface when using it and I want to optimize my usage of it
an advanced dim tutorial would be amazing
Not me going through a vault cleaning and remembering when Ursa on day 1s was goated and realizing I still had 4 of them with decent stat splits and (originally) different affinities (it was just in case I needed solar mods instead of stasis mods I swear)
My vault is full of sunset weapons that I do not use anymore, but just looking at them reminds me of everything I went through, all seasons played, since launch of the game. Of course it's sentimental, and I will definitely not feel good if I literally have to delete all of them...
Hopefully this video makes the rounds in the Destiny community. I’m tired of people complaining about vault space every season when it’s literally their own fault. Datto’s push for vault cleaning helped a lot but he didn’t really give detailed explanations for the braindead community complainers.
I think gjerda’s video was the best on the topic, and I highly recommend watching it if you haven’t.
Yo I definitely would love an in depth DIM tutorial. I love the app on my phone (I’m a console user) and I feel like I’m just scratching the surface on what it can offer. Please please pleeeeease make that video.
One example for old weapons becoming meta would be the double slug DSC days (~season 12) with First In, Last Out being the best energy slug at that time. Most people didn't save one from the previous seasons and were now stuck having to use a worse alternative. You're obviously correct though, there are no recent examples that I can think of.
Yeah that's like the only example
@@TheAegisRelic appreciate your response and everything you do for the community!
One of my biggest wastes of vault space is armor for the other two classes I don't main. As a titan main, I have way too much warlock and hunter armor that I just simply don't want to even think about it. I'll play [not titan] for like a day and collect armor accidentally. I dismantle the ones that are below 68ish stats, but ill find one and think "oh that might be decent for a warlock, but idk if its actually useful for a build. Or if that hypothetical build exists at all. A video for one class mains on which stats are actually useful on armor for other classes could be good
