- Your Cowboys news of the day with Jeff Cavanaugh and former Cowboys WR Jesse Holley.
Defensive tackle Mazi Smith had a shoulder surgery and is going to miss a big chunk of the offseason. Other recent news makes that even worse.
Jerry Jones says Tyler Smith to left tackle is a possibility we should all be thinking about, good idea?
Deion Sanders told the Cowboys to stop playing and get Stephon Gilmore back in here. I'll tell you why it isn't happening.

Can we get Mazi some eye surgery so he sees the ball as fast as everyone else
I think I hear Dandy Don Meredith, "Turn out the lights, the party's over.....".
I think a lot of times players are rushed back and that’s why they’re not the same, MG & Pollard are examples
They haven't lost anyone of significance, it's all role players that were either paid like starters or pieces they can easily replace via the draft. Turnover is normal in the NFL, people just bought into the "all in" comment.
This is all about betting on the optimism, but all the while knowing they are screwed
What make you think diggs or overshown will be ready to play up to their potential?
Not after ACL surgery at least not for the first year back
Cowboys are hoping the defensive scheme change fixes stopping the run, which I agree with to a degree. I'd expect them to add more veterans AFTER the draft. They are going to see what they can get their, and then revisit free agency. They are also right about the offense - literally spend 3 of your first 3 picks on offensive linemen and that will hopefully fix the run game. That offense was pretty decent mid-season and beyond. Isn't much to tweak there except that raggedy oline.
No first year is always rough after acl and it was easy to see both of them get better the last 6 games of the season. They were trending up for sure. Both of then will have a much better season and Stelle will have his best year to date!
It is still early. Take it easy! You know you'll will be watching on Sundays. If you disagree, there is the door.
Actually I may not be watching. The reason is twofold: Jerry literally lied about being all in this off season and the team has failed to take even minimal steps to improve the squad after letting so many players leave. That tells me that Jerry is content to just field a team, maybe advance to the playoffs occasionally but isn’t serious about pursuing a Super Bowl. You know what? If he doesn’t care, why should I? Ergo I’m already one foot out the door.
I also think a Jerry took a hard look at next season’s schedule and figured there’s no way Dallas wins a division in 2024-2025, and decided to not bother pursuing talent. Heck he wouldn’t even green light a $2M contract for Hankins, the only guy who can play the 1 position on the defensive line. Pretty telling.
All I can do is laugh at what you typed, you smoke way to much weed
Mazzie Smith does not like playing football he only likes to hit people. Leave it to the Cowboys to take someone in first round that doesn't like football
Your buying into a cliche.
I think the boys will regret it if they don't bring Gilmore back !
How did Mazi turn out to be such a bad 1st round choice. Did he quit when he got paid? Or did Cowboys blow the evaluation? He has not helped at all so far.
Feels like Dallas is trying to find a way to go 8-8 again
Impossible
that's cowboy heritage, paying tribute to Irvin.
There's 17 games in a season.
Think about all those juicy comp picks...
Is it "be leavin the Dallas Cowboys" because some days I do want to.
Quinn ruined mazi cause he was trying to make him a pass rusher so he had no intention on stopping the run so you lose weight to play that spot
I sploofed my drink when Jesse said a different closing
Bass can play gaurd and start not sure about center or back up as far as offensive line goes and run stopping was non existent with the guys we had especially against Green Bay
Love you guys. Jessie is funny. We all have made silly mistakes with words. Gotta laugh at yourself though.
It's extremely possible, 2M is peanuts and they still let him go. Plus, teams were running on us with Hankins. He's an older cat and he may not fit what Zimmer wants. Every FA season it's doom n gloom around here than the Cowboys field a 12 win playoff team. It's just waaaay too early in my eyes and it's time for some of these young cats to step up.
Jesse seams hyped couldn’t put my finger on why !!
Probably was at them trailer parks last night
😂😂😂
His Tarheels are in the sweet 16 NCAA Tournament
you understood!!!!!@@steviemac2377
10:56 our 2023 Draft Class is cursed 😭
We ain’t had enough to pick top 5
Y’all complained about Pollard he all complained about Tyrone Smith getting too old injury prone y’all complain about this stuff so they get rid of them and you still complain dont get it
What's really troubling is that there has been no clear back up plan to these glaring needs. It's beyond frustrating but I'm still here for the players. Management sucks
You don’t get to tell me what I complained about lol. Tyron is and was incredible and I’ve never in my life hinted that he either wasn’t good or shouldn’t be here.
@@JeffCavanaughJeff you literally have a video calling for Tyler to replace Tyron and letting Tyrone walk or play swing. Lol
The problem is they get rid of the declining players but they are too cheap to replace them. You cannot give the Jones boys any Grace with the way they have ran this team since 1995. We will only get lucky and win a SB again in spit of the Jones family not because of them. They literally killed all hope after the last playoff game and this year’s offseason and the things they say.
Yeah that's a you problem man, this isn't hard. The problem isn't letting Tyron go on its own, the problem is you banked on him for years while knowing he'd get hurt, never developing a contingency, and now you have put yourself into a corner because planning is too much work. The complaints are about the process, not the results.
My boys
4-13 or 5-12 next yr. He wants another top 5 draft pick.
This is a silent rebuild going on. Keep selling the fans dreams thinking they are going to make moves and it’s not going to happen. Dak is gone, this happened to zek and dez. A bunch of allegations start coming out, that originally were kept hidden, next toy get released. Keep saying you want them, then the allegations and money become an issue. They’re going after shedaur. Jerry had a very long conversation with him, they were all buddied up. Shedaur in Dallas would be big money, big hype, would have Dallas one of the most exciting teams again.
We're going to be trash to get higher draft picks in 2025. Let Dak walk start over and make room for 2025 salary cap. Let's go!
Based of the schedule this team will be 🤮 this yr I'm just being honest
Everyday, this team finds new ways to hurt me.
This will be the trauma bonding season
Official. Dak will play on current deal and this will be his last yr as a cowboy
Tank next season get a first round one two or three pick pick up a quarterback move on from there. With this o-line DaK will get demolished.
People point out how other teams ran on Hankins but they're not mentioning how DQ refused to load the box. I'm fine w/ letting all these guys walk IF this front office at least brought in some of their replacements. There's no way we can fill all these holes through the draft. We have zero depth & we're gonna depend on rookies & the bottom of the barrel free agents we'll eventually sign as our backups? This front office can't even rebuild properly. If you're a young kid & all you hear about is how much of a joke this franchise is, would you root for this team?
The offseason is far from over. And yes young people root for this team, you don't choose it it chooses you.
Do you know about some free agents the rest of us don't know about? I forgot, we'll get some released players. Do you really think we're filling all these positions, both starters & depth pieces through the draft?
The messy cowboys ctfu it's something new everyday
We'd have been better having Schultz/Ferguson, strong running game and capable receivers. For Dak, that is...
No more Bleav?
Lifting weights
Jesse are you willing to play on a vet minimum salary ?
There’s like 4 minutes of content in this and 19 minutes if Jesse bloviating
Jeff great show but change the name to delusional carnival Barker News!
They’re not going to sign him stop it 😂
Who are all the good players?
DT remains the biggest need along with RB, Coach UP the young Olineman. Osa is too small to play the run, Gholston? LOL a tweener who is too slow to play DE & too small to play DT. Might have to double dip @ DT or add a low wage vet.
Go Purdue lol 😆
To pay Dak is the equivalent of blowing the team up if he gets $60m per year.
He gets what the market dictates, not what your feelings think.
Set him up for failure and get him for a cheaper price. The Plan 🤷♂️
I think it’s true that every player gets what they want market dictates. Not sure what you mean by “what your feelings think” as feelings are a different process than thinking. My point is with a $250M team cap, it’s very damaging to pay one player $60M per year because it means you have to employ marginal players throughout most of the rest of your roster. Doing that is the equivalent of blowing up your team, ie., getting g rid of much of the talent.
Jesse shave that mess bro lol
“Jerry sucks” need to be chanted all season long at Home games
Fk this GM
Here is part of the problem. You have a subpar nose tackle and pit him against a subpar center. You may think you are good but bad on bad masks major issues. If you had a good center, it would expose the bad nose tackle or vice versa. Bad at both and you mislead yourselves until games and then its too late.
What are you gonna say when Mazzy Smith gets back to his normal weight and stops to run? Are you gonna bash him then and run the ball?
8-8 everyone gets fired
All the stuff you keep saying we don't have and what we didn't do is so repetitive, it's fuckin March. Relax!
I admire your optimism!
So that 2023 draft just looks worse and worse as it goes on... shame, guess this is a skip and don't watch season, which is cool because Sundays or really Mondays are getting more errand driven as I get older.
LOL! You'll be watching.
@@LinkRocks just because you can't think of other stuff to do, doesn't mean I can't. Enjoy another L of a season sucker
Jeff have you ever thought that maybe Zimmer didn't want Hankins?
Mazi Smith, certified bust
MAN *WE GOTTA SIGN GILMORE* ! I DON’T CARE WHAT ANYONE SAYS & I AM WILLING DISPUTE THAT HE IS OUR BEST CORNER! I DON’T CARE THAT “HE SLOWED DOWN” A TICK! I CARE THAT HE CAN COVER AND DOESN’T GET BURNT! . . . AND HE IS A _MORE WILLING_ TACKLER . . . KEY WORD: _MORE WILLING_
Until Jerry and his son are affected monetarily they’ll never change how they run their business. And the fans are the ones to blame but how do you blame them in the same breath when Jerry is the master salesman a.k.a. manipulator? The Cows are the least successful organization in the DFW area over the past 29 years and it’s not even close! Let’s go Rangers our 2023 World Fucking Champions!!!
You're part of giving them money. Even when you watch them on TV, which you do, you're giving them money.
@@LinkRocks yup! Except tv revenue is divided amongst every team equally.
This season will be a disaster
I hate this team so much.
Nobody believes in the delusional carnival barker anymore
dallas could have 5 1st round draft picks and we couldn't win the Superbowl this season....you cant just skip Free Agency and think you going to contend with the top teams in the league. Im ASKING WHY DO WE EVEN SUPPORT ANYMORE #BOYCOTTDALLAS
