    I just had the Ford Performance short shifter, Shift cable bushings, & COBB Accessport installed on Friday with a 91 tune. Let me just say with the shifter and bushings.. WOW.. What a difference it makes with the shifting. If I would have known the 91 Tune would make the driving experience better, I would have bought it when I first got my car. What a difference it all made my car feel.

      Sorry I didn't see this comment before the other one. That's awesome man! The 91 tune is such a huge difference with all of that added torque, it's insane :) I've been thinking about the short shifter for awhile... can you explain a little bit more on the difference it had?

      @@andrewmackey6185 with the shifter bushings added with the short shifter. The shifts feel more stiff. It doesn’t feel like the loose when shifting. I have the COBB short shift plate, but I decided to go in this direction instead. When putting it in gear, it feels tight and that the shifter won’t go anywhere. I am not disappointed with this purchase.

    Your car is certainly a looker mate! MASSIVE air filter (wow!) I'm in the middle of upgrading my Focus ST as things stand. Have done the following:
    1) Mfactory helical LSD, Focus RS flywheel & clutch... $2500 all in (incl. Labour)
    2) Airtec cold air induction system Stage 2 - $490
    3) PumaSpeed R-Sport intercooler Stage 3 - $550
    4) Stage 1 ECU remap - PumaSpeed MAXD-OUT 280 - $500
    Next comes a resonated Scorpion catback exhaust which is going $1400 (early May). Then going for a sports cat and then Stage 2 remap after all that (later in the year)

      @andrewmackey6185  Před 3 lety +2

    • @n0w3lly90
      @n0w3lly90 Před 3 lety +2

      @@andrewmackey6185 thanks Andrew. Definitely agree with the intercooler as the stock one is crap! Also, liberating the air induction does a lot for the Ecoboost engine. My target is 300bhp, currently at 289bhp... I don't intend to go down the forged internals and hybrid turbo route (far too expensive and laborious to get sorted), but, I wanted to get as much power as safely as possible and without stressing the block and head/ cams too much, as well as - its a front wheel drive car - getting all that power and torque to the ground (hence the diff and transmission set up). I am not sure if the Scorpion system is available in the US, but it is similar to the Borla or Cobb catback systems made of really good stainless steel, mandrel bent and hand welded, etc. Hopefully a good exhaust - we'll see! 😉 my car will accelerate (tested) 0-60 in 5.2 secs and 0-62 (the 100 km/h mark) in 5.6 secs. So good gains there already

    • @andrewmackey6185
      @andrewmackey6185  Před 3 lety +2

      @@n0w3lly90 I think you'll get there! I'm sitting around 290hp to the engine right now (based off stage 2 cobb estimates). I'm also adding a rear motor mount soon to keep those wheels on the ground haha. I don't think the scorpion is sold in the US but I have seen some videos on the sound! Hope all goes well man, I love talking to people about their Focus STs and the builds they're doing!

    • @n0w3lly90
      @n0w3lly90 Před 3 lety +1

      @@andrewmackey6185 nice, 290bhp is good going! I got 289bhp strangely because of the hybrid set up I have (stage 1 tune, stage 2 air induction, stage 3 intercooler! Just the only parts available to get during this pandemic... loads of people furloughed see). Oh, I got a rear motor mount too (missed that out)... good idea to get one 😉 the LSD gets rid of most torque steer too, and, makes braking more even and traction better

    what is the vacuum tubing you mentioned in the engine bay? I just bought a focus st and it's pretty heavily modded and it has a green tube that kinda looks like that

    • @andrewmackey6185
      @andrewmackey6185  Před 3 lety

      It's high heat resistant vacuum tubing that runs from the boost port of the sound symposer delete to the BOV line. If you take a look at your stock solenoid, it should be capped off.

    Are the white wheels a PITA to keep clean? Been browsing for a set of rims for a while but haven’t made my mind up on color, white is my top choice !

    • @andrewmackey6185
      @andrewmackey6185  Před 3 lety

      Honestly, after about 2 days of driving they are definitely dirty again. However, if you don't wash them for awhile, they begin to look "clean" again because all the rims are covered in the same amount of brake dust which gives it a different white look. Unless you get real close - they look clean from a distance. White wheels pop 100%

      @@andrewmackey6185 Not bad, only 8 bolts, not counting the factory engine bay bottom cover. Only tricky part flexing the downpipe bracket enough to get it off even with no bolts on it won't just fall in your lap, and will need a 13 wrench in addition to socket due to the location of a few of the bolts. Lastly the Cobb motor mount uses a 8mm, I believe, Allen key instead of factory 13 socket bolt.

  • @troysefff
    @troysefff Před 2 lety

    Theres def some research you should have done before buying all this. Since you didnt go BT those FMIC pipes and extra larger hoses actually reduced your HP to the wheels. Stock turbo a $500-$700 range FMIC would have done the job no problem. Same with your exhaust but since you went Borla you clearly just wanted the sound and not the performance. But you for sure could have done something that fits your build a bit to get more HP. Good thin now is, all you need is a new turbo and full suspension and you'll make all this worth a damn. Just fyi.

    • @n0w3lly90
      @n0w3lly90 Před 3 lety +1

      As with any car mate... take good care of it and have it serviced regularly, spark plugs, timing/ cam belts, keep your oil and fluid changes regular and, when the time comes, at high mileages, save a little to get the head cleaned internally/ mounts refinished (much higher mileage). Ensure all that and your engine should stay in good fettle 😉
