    Ordered a 2021 3500 HO about 6 weeks ago. Drove Ford, GM, and Ram. The Ram with the adaptive steering drove great and the turning radius was also good. The Ford power was outstanding and it drove pretty good. I thought the inside needed some work to be honest and I think they are going to update that soon. The biggest disappointment for me was the GMC Denali, the steering wasn't as smooth as the other two and I thought it was going to ride alot better but it didn't. The retractable running boards are too close to the door to help. The Ford and GM do have smooth transmissions for sure. Overall I picked the Ram and the Ford was a close second to me. I thought I was going to buy a GM in the beginning but it sure didn't work out that way. Great video.

      @DavidBrown-jt7yi Před 2 lety

      @@cadcamfreak The HO is a little sluggish empty in gears 1 thru 3 but after that it moves very well. The 68rfe is a much smoother transmission and if you are not hauling heavy (under 10k) that would be the way to go. When you put a load on the HO in tow haul mode it works flawlessly. I like the truck feel of the Ram/HO/Aisin to be honest.

    I drove a 2020 ram Cummins today for the first time. I am debating trading in my 2019 f250 powerstroke. It has a long bed and is tough to turn. Agree about the storage. The Ford has a storage compartment on top of the dash which is hard to reach. I don’t like it. The ram has storage closer to you. The Ford seems to be responsive. It does have more power, but I wampled the Cummins a few times and it moves. It drives a lot easier than the Ford. The ram steering is more car-like and the turning radius is better

If I get to a campground late, I do not want to wake up the others in the campground nor do I want to wake my wife if I've been to town and return late. My neighbor has a very noisy truck which he has "enhanced" the noise level; this means when he gets in late, we end up waking since we hear the noise. To me, quiet is better.

    Been a dodge guy since 04. diesels bad transmissions, terrible shift points, hard shifts. Seats are uncomfortable and stearing wheel is not straight on to the driver. Aisin transmission shifts really hard since it came out. Front end ball joints come factory with play. Im completely non biased but i really liked dodge. I recently bought a 2020 F350, my goodness. The power is huge, it feels like a hemi on the highway, the suspension is smooth, no more shaking passenger seat. The 10 speed shifts sooooooo smooth. The height of the truck almost puts you in line with semi drivers. My only hate on the ford is how dam light the steering is. Dodge kept you cent in the road, the wheels always wanted to be straight. The ford steering is so light that the slightest twitch and your darting around on the road. People also say the exhaust brake isnt as strong, it is but if its in 10th it wont hold you like the ram would in 6th. The interior is comparable i suppose, ram really sells you with the big screen though. Im not a huge fan of how the ford screen is, its confusing and messy. Only fords ive ever owned was 70s and early 80s and i dont know how many times ive said i will never own a ford but this 2020 is a beast and i have zero regrets. If i could figure out the dam radio and how to change sirius on the steering wheel controls then id be even happier. Im not some city chump, i know how to drive, i live in the country and deal with 4 feet of snow and hot summers, this truck is superior vs the dodge.....never thought i would ever say that.

      @@davidbarfield3489 I dont know if you have made your decision yet as you posted the comment 2 months ago, but I will share my experience with you. I currently own a 2016 ram 2500 with the cummins, its got 44,000 miles on it and I havent had a single issue with the truck. With that said, there are things I dislike about it. For one the 68rfe is a ticking time bomb. Its not a matter of if it is going to grenade, but when is it going to grenade. I like the cummins but feel like they could get more power out of it, as in numbers similar to fords powerstroke. Overall, the ram feels alot less refined than the ford. The ford will shift nicer, have more power, and will have an overall better feel to the truck. With all this being said I ordered myself a 2022 f250. It can do everything the ram can do but better, except for the exhaust brake. If you are still looking for a truck I would recommend the ford, or a ram 3500 with the aisin. The aisin still seems to have rough shifts but is a better tranny than the 68rfe.

As you said, these new 3/4 and 1 ton trucks just keep getting rated higher and higher. Not sure where it will end. Fun to watch though. Also, I had a '13 3500. The exhaust brake worked well but was factory programmed to shut off below 25 mph. That I didn't like. Some mountain roads it is desirable with a heavy trailer to be able to use it below 25 mph. I have air bags on my Chevy z71 2500 love them, all the way around, won’t have another truck, without them. I was really considering the dodge for that very reason until I saw this video. Air bags yes but no leafs at all! That’s a bad ideal. You get out and compressor quits, no comp, with u extra to add air, or a bag starts leaking, no extra support from the leafs being there and you are very likely dead in the water. I love the thought but should have kept springs too. Most def considering my kit costed $600 Comp and all and I still have my factory leafs, plus I can buy replacement parts cheap. And Dodge wants $1800 extra as an upgrade for it. I want my bags to be extra comfort and extra load just to help out not to be my full rear suspension. I see this now, as a fail by dodge instead of one of the main reasons I wanted one along with the option to upgrade to a 60 gal tank from the factory for $300.
      Thanks I had looked at the new ones but not under yet. I’d never thought they get rid of leafs all together that’s a fail.

    What transmission does this have? You know where I am going with this....Dodge issues are the transmissions. Aisin transmissions are good. I heard Dodge was considering the Allison but do not know if they did.

    And the big question is have they figured out DEF yet I bought a brand new 2013/2500 first year of urea and basically used it as an around town grocery getter and pulled a fifth wheel to Florida a few times after 30,000 miles it was endless trying to get sensors and such fixed at the dealer once every two months nothing worse than seeing that you only have 200 miles travel time left
    traded it in 2016 for a 2500 with a 6.4 gas couldn't deal with that diesel no more really sucks it would pull a house down but the DEF was endless nonsense

    Changes like a Chinese cummins. Look it up before you hate. Just saying, we have 4 and all 4 have pump issues which threw metal in feul system before it fails.
    $ 12k if you can get parts, if it dont trash more. Its that cp4.
    Hate to be pulling load when it fails.
    Just shuts off, no warning.

      Listening is key. He said “they were the first production truck to reach 4 digit torque numbers at 1000” which is exactly correct. Ram announced their 1000 lb ft of torque numbers for the H.O. and then a few months later Ford announced their numbers for the 2020 Super Duty at 1050 lb ft.
