That was some good size fish 🐟.

A great day on the water and some big gaffers on board as well, beautiful .
Nice big fish on full stringers
Some good hauls for sure, Vivian!
I enjoy the cabin talks. I would enjoy a little after hour video of down time taking a meal waiting out the nights.
Noted! We'll try to include more of that!
Great idea.
@@EISAlaska I just think it would be cool, if your boss was along for a trip, for her to show a meal prep at sea. We KNOW she can out cook both of you!
Hehe Thank you so much Robert😉that makes me smile from ear to ear and so proud😃Tristen and I will start fishing with the guys soon for halibut, so we will for sure get some footage of evening time. Thank you for your kind words and for tuning into our videos.Take good care and stay safe.

I am only 2.5 minutes in and had to comment about that backdrop. What a stunningly beautiful location.
It is so beautiful there Iain. I wish we had brought our camera gear along. The gopro doesn't do it justice, but glad it came through.

Random internet kid - I'm pro at CoD!
The Boys - Do you even jig dude?
Lol!
what can I say but nice, the view, the fishing. the halibut is my favorite but this is close. take care
Thanks, you too Kenn!
What a beautiful backdrop. Do local Alaskan's ever take that view for granted?
For us we sure appreciate this kind of weather. We spend a lot of the spring in the wind and rain seems like.
Guy's hoping for the big catch today.....
I hope in my next life i get to live in Alaska! Such beauty and great food! Guess any place close to the sea would work for me.
It truly is a wonderful place. Take care Jon.
You have great first mate
I enjoy your videos. I would like to see a tour of your engine room
I think we have some footage on that from when we swapped our water pump, still in the queue. We'll get around to it Don!
what is the name of this reel used for fishing (the equipment) and where does it sell?
Love the view guys. Far better than the isolated valley area I grew up in (Upper Yarra Valley in Victoria, Australia). Yeah - we'd get snow that looked picturesque, but nothing like what you've got there in the background. Awesome. Hey Matt - have you considered photos / postcards / posters as merch / swag you could add to the website? Just a thought ... I know it would take a huge amount of time away from fishing. Yet some of the results you've had from the camera work you've done (and the rest of the family of course) makes me think there's a lot of potential there. Again, just a thought ...
Some fantastic ideas, Steve! I've never thought about it but seems like it would be cool. Thanks for the comment!
Nice fish is there a fishier for ling cod you must be due for a new captains chair that one looks uncomfortable stay safe.
We can't keep lingcod until summer unfortunately. Although we rarely catch legal size down this way on the island, usually up north.
Thanks for the great vid! How deep are you getting cod?
Hi, thanks! Around 35-40 fathoms on this trip.
Are you using circle hooks?
When is halabit opening I really like the long line vids
Soon! We'll be starting our harvest for spring share boxes in the next month.
Hi guys, I love your videos, is it not worth Longlining for cod or is jigging more cost effective ?
Hi Dan. There is a federally managed longline fishery for cod. This is a state water fishery with a separate allocation. The only legal gear is jig and pot gear with the GHL (guideline harvest level) split 50/ 50 between the two.
Is there a weight limit for the boat when you have to say enough?
We can pack her full with around 15000. That doesn’t happen often though, usually its just a case of out of time on a trip. 3 days fishing at most.
what type of jigg machine are you using
We call them kachemak jiggers in Alaska, also known as bandit reels down south.
Two questions;
Where is this? It looks like the Aleutians.
Wouldn't you save your back if you brought those fish in across a table?
Another great video thank you..
hey I was wondering on halibut...how long do you usually soak ??
Thanks Brett! It depends on the time of year and what kind of bottom. Usually rocky edges we'll do 6-8 hours, in the deep mud we'll do 4-6 hours.
@@EISAlaska ..thanks for the information..all these videos help me with my personal use halibut permits here..
I did get a really good deal on some # 14 long shank offset circle hooks..1000 for 99 dollars..regular price was $1119.00.
Only one problem.. they have and open eye..not sure what I am going to do ?..figure out a knot to use ?..or put each one in a vice and close the eye ?
Do You have any ideas on what I should do ??..any idea would be appreated.
The gap is about 1/8th of an inch right now..
Yeah a vice would work great or a big pair of channel locks. Be sure to wear eye protections and some gloves, they do tend to spring out every once in awhile. If you haven't already seen, this video shows our snap setups. czcams.com/video/LIv9lZUagIs/video.html
@@EISAlaska ..yes..I saw the video..help me a lot..but it didn't cover my lemon head purchase of these bargain hooks....that's weird ??
LMAO !
Looks like vice it is..thanks for the help.
Well
Ever fish lingcod ? I hear they are great eating
We can't retain them until mid-summer so we usually have to release them. Yes, they are great eating!
It would be cool to know how deep you're fishing.
Around 35 fathoms.
