A couple of these exact same type of buttons were installed at a few intersections in my area. The only difference is that our's are yellow, and they are programmed a little differently. The speakers are quieter, for one thing. When you press them, they also say, "Wait", but they don't keep saying it every few seconds. Just beeping, until the signal changes, at which point the prerecorded voice comes on and says, "(Street Name) walk sign is on to cross", but there's no audible countdown like these. Neat buttons. I wish they'd install more of them in my area, but they're probably expensive.
