@@Dillon12 Queen’s great an all, they’re definitely my fav band and music artist, but the Beatles were one of their influences, and the same goes for tons of other bands. They provided the blueprint for almost every band after them, so I think that’s why they’re #1 which I agree with.

@Arya Vart There’s no question that Zeppelin were a better band than the yardbirds but personally, I could go the rest of my life without hearing roughly 85% of their catalog. The Yardbirds are definitely an acquired taste but it was also a blueprint era for rock’n’roll in general

Overall, I think this is a really good list. I might not fully agree on the order, but generally the list itself is nice. I especially appreciate the fact that you put the Beach Boys in the top 10. Lots of people pass them by without realizing just how influential they were.

The rock band is the Jonas Brothers. Best guitar riffs almost as good as Jack Black’s rock albums.
Would have been nice to see Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers on there. They made some very good albums for more than 40 years, also helped Tom make his solo projects. They were also the backup band for Dylan in the 80s. They definitely stood the test of time in my own opinion.

In general it is a good list, but there is some huge mistakes in my opinion,like, how can Metallica be worse ranked than radiohead, or Red hot chilli peppers or foo fightera be so low ranked?

Radiohead's albums are consistently ranked among the greatest albums of all time, perhaps more than any other band out there. If by great we mean more popular with the mainstream audience, then sure, Metallica would take that.

It is the truth, They are legendary, Most of the current Rock is due to them, They created a different way of making music, They created different styles of Rock, I would even dare to say that objectively it is the most influential band in the history of Rock, It is A matter of researching to realize that almost all (if not all the great bands) which came out after them were influenced by them, There are even current pop artists who were influenced by them, They really were a very, very advanced group for his time, Compared to the Beatles, Rollins etc.

This list is very weird. Bands that are basically one hit wonders are above bands with staggering 10+ album discographies. Also weird in that it feels in ways like a super predictable, popularity contest type list, but then there are a few experimental entries like the swans. Strange
Greatest rock bands of all time should be bands that after 20 years after their debut are still listened to ,talked about and are influental to other bands . First 5 bands that come to my mind are Beatles,Pink Floyd,Led Zeppelin,Queen and The Rolling Stones.

I understand SoaD being as low as they were as they're more of my own personal preference, but Foo Fighters below 80 other bands is ridiculous considering that they have stayed relevant for over 30 years and consistently had 3 or 4 large radio hits per each of their 11 albums as well as selling out venues like Wembley and overall being one of the last surviving 90s bands to still put out good (and successful despite the lack of demand for rock in the last decade) content
Every rose has its thorn played over and over with me me singing right along crying cause my mom wouldn't let me go see them in concert. It was probably 15 years later when they opened for KISS I finally got to see them live. wow bringing back memories🤩

There is no way queen is the second best band of all time. They had like 7 really good songs and one really special member and that’s it. Led Zeppelin had dozens of masterpieces and a group of 4 absolute monsters. Jimmy page is widely considered the Greatest guitarist of all time, Robert plant is considered one of the greatest rock singers of all time, jones is one of the best keyboardist and bassist of all time, and John bonham is the greatest drummer of all time. Queen couldn’t even compete
Queen had 3 consecutive hits albums + a platinum collection one. I don't see Led Zeppelin with that treatment

The top 5, in any measure, should be The Stones, Pink Floyd, The Who, Led Zeppelin, and The Beatles - Nirvana made a small handful of albums, putting AC/DC or even Fleetwood Mac ahead of The Who is laughable...there are some very questionable placements on this list.

I think a band should be at least 10 yrs old and have 2 generations of fans, with songs that still played today to be a all time great
At least put out 3-5 quality albums.

The newest is Maroon 5 and by today standards that's quite old.

So really all the beloved bands are all veterans.

Interesting list. I'm sure Ween would be highly amused at being included here. It's gratifying to see Motorhead listed. Some of my favorites that didn't make the list and no doubt, never will, are Badlands, Failure, Kings X, Porcupine Tree, Helmet, Primus, Grand Funk, Uriah Heep, Accept, Social Distortion, Spiritual Beggars, and easily the best band since the nineties, Firebird. I would say one egregious omission is not listing Blue Oyster Cult.
