I'm like you once you drop price it decreases the value of product. People will always wait on sells now because basically they just announced what there detector is really worth. I upgrade to 900 from 800 might have bought Manticore if I knew they were dropping price. Go figure. Thanks for posting.
I haven’t ever paid full price for a detector. The dealers have unadvertised prices. Just ask their best deal for the detector only. I paid $1800.00 new for my CTX 8 years ago. He even threw in a bunch of extras.
Reminds me of when the PT Cruiser came out years ago. People paying stupid money for something because they had to have it first. Prices always come down.
Codan share price sinks 10% despite record profit. Sounds about like last year when their stock prices were bottoming out and they released 3 detectors back-to-back. Oh well. Future purchases will be different for me. I couldn't even get a response to an email I sent about teaching kids metal detecting at a local Recreation department. That speaks volumes. SAD.
It's only a week and a half, then prices go back to normal. They did the anniversary discount to the Equinox 900 and the SDC2300 as well. Used market on the Manticore was realistically around $1200, and it will return to that next month. I wish Minelab had discounted all their detectors across the board. It's odd to just select 3 detectors to discount, but that's just my opinion.
The sale did extend to the 900 but only about $100. I agree though, minelab should have done a promotional discount on the additional coils or something, esp for existing customers. A boost in sales on the manticore with this sale will also go to prove that the manticore was overpriced in the first place.
@mowerdog so if you were in a buying situation now where you were choosing between a equinox 900 and the manticore with the current deal, which one would you pick?
About the turkish stuff i don't like, that their own currency isn't worth anything anymore, but they screw up the market and run their competitors, which have to produce in real economies for real wages, into the ground.
Nokta rocks! Nokta and Dilek rock! Quality manufactured! Great customer after service, very attentive! Very responsive! Competitive pricing! Nokta rocks!
This and a few other reasons are why my next machine will be a XP. Deus2. Or a XP detector of some kind. Nokta are nice but too similar to the equinox. I do water and dirt hunting.
Mfg’s do this kinda thing all the time…is what it is. No doubt it sux for folks who paid a heap more in recent months, etc. I just pulled the trigger and purchased a new Manticore for $1019 to my door, will arrive in a few days.
Lol I bought the ctx because I loved the nox 800 then 2 weeks later they dropped the manticore! Deus and nokta gave a heads up on their new machines . I sold the ctx and bought the Deus 2. Way better machine then both nox and ctx or etrac. I swore I was never gonna by minelab after that. Then they dropped the manticore price and I bought it. Hard to argue $1050 shipped.
@@mowerdog I have sent it back for the 4th time last week. There is still something wrong with the audio on it. If they dont get it right this time I am going to contact XP headquarters and see if I cant just get a new remote. They just keep trying to make repairs that dont work......Frustrating. But I think for the most part the Deus II overall has been pretty reliable. I have the Legend also and it is pretty good also. I just ordered the LG24 coil for it. Should have it today.
@@mowerdog Look you used it and enjoyed it, everything goes down in price after time. Just like cars , PCs , Smart Phones. Maybe they are clearing stock out for the next thing ...
To be quite honest i bought my detrctor as a social investment. From the moment you unpack it all you have is the enjoyment of it. The price drops. Your sadness will soon pass

You're not outgunned swinging a 900.

Detectors come down in price as they are phased out.

Your point is well taken.
Thanks jd
when did they have the sale?
A week ago. It was $1199
Nokta takes good care of their customers! I have the Nokta Legend and I love the machine!
I have the Double Score and thinking about the Legend or deus now. The DS is a great machine

@@werner.x Good point.
Minelab stepped in it! They are trying to compete with Nokta in price but never thought about us. 800 and 900 user. Glad I didn't buy a manticore
The Manticore is a good machine and now is the time to buy one. That still doesn't mean ML did't screw consumers and dealers.

I believe that's a good plan
😢 You should of kept the Vanquish. Theyll be updating that one soon also i bet.
I really needed a cheap waterproof machine for river hunts. So the V had to go. What a great machine though.
@@mowerdogI agree on the Vanquish. I looked to update but why should i ? They don't seem any better 😕 than what I have.
