- Recently, Diep.io, the game that started my channel, became five years old. Making videos of this game when it came out is how my channel got started and got its first batch of viewers. It's the reason I'm here today. I may be a bit late, but I believe now is a good time to take one last look at the game considering its's in its last legs. Don't expect top level gameplay or anything (especially since I haven't played this game seriously in years), this is just for fun.

Diep was genuinely an insanely fun game to play with friends back in 2017 & early 2018.
The game itself is still fun to play- but the community completely ruins the experience from all of it's toxicity...
It was such an amazing time in 2017 & 2018, those times were my favorite times with this game and I honestly miss it

This is in my opinion the greatest io game of all time. When it came out it was a massive step up from other io games featuring a wide roster of tanks and builds to choose from as well as a very deep and skill based pvp system. It is very nostalgic for me and I am sure many others, and I am incredibly thankful for all the fun and memories it gave me.
Fighter alone has the depth of some fighting game characters.
Imo deeeep.io is better, though diep does get 2nd place. :)
Yep but also many battle royale io also came up and this became bad

Basically half the video is can you get a high score just only ramming your back to the enemy.
And I find it hilarious. Great throwback.
I mean, Smasher is an actual class in the game. You don't even shoot.
Playing this with friends in the computer class at school is one of the simplest happy times of my life.

I remember getting out of school everyday, walking over to the library, and logging onto the pcs over there just to sit down and play some diep with my friends. I always played streamliner or triple shot, and my friends liked octotank and sprayer. They said streamliner was bad, but I always beat them with it, so it didn't matter. I remember one time where I killed someone named JB Colombia who was running a lobby with more than 2.5 million points, and he immediately spawned back in and killed me nearly instantly.

Man I used to watch your diep.io videos so much early on, when you had around 1,800 subscribers or so. I was so surprised to see you pop up on my feed years later with a PvZ video that had millions in viewership, I initially didn't even recognize it was you lol.

Rip Mothership gamemode, you will definitely be missed
That was fun. Especially when you got to play as mothership and all of a sudden your team was suddenly a bunch of literal brainless 3 year old children.
I liked that mode a lot, I remember just ramming into the other mothership for no reason, it just looked funny.
arras.io still has it gang gang
...albeit without letting the motherships go near each other for some reason, since theres rarely any mothership maps that arent portal...
i remember back in 2016 when i first discovered your channel, I was no lifing this game everyday, and when in confusion I go watch your videos. further then I decided to join the community (aka diepcord) and you were the person who guided me through it (was known as "Robust"). even though i hardly ever talked in the discord server, i was never sure why you left that place until now. pretty disappointing to hear this but anyway, thanks for making this video, brought me back a lot of nostalgia.

I've been around this channel since it was still pumping out Diep.io content a few years ago, and those days are pure magic to me. the days when I got to spend days on end switching between playing Diep.io and Geometry Dash are some of the most fond memories I have, and I'm glad this channel was apart of it. thank you, SGM, for contributing so heavily to those times.

I remember when .io had a meaning back in day...
But now it's just used by shitty mobile game developers who make ad ridden "games" that have you install it for _just_ long enough to make a buck.
Not to mention the fake multiplayer

I was a pretty active member of the sun knights back when diep was popular, was a mod for a while. I think back and cringe on a lot of things I did back then, but it was fun.
Sun Knights was a disaster in general lol. Not as much as Diepcord but it still had way more drama than it should have

I never 100 percented the game, but I did complete the Story mode and found quite a few of the secrets.
Dimble Wood and Planet Robobot music, coupled with quality gameplay of all gamemodes, and a summarative retrospective. Couldn't be a better send-off.

Hey Shuyguymask! When I was around 13 back in 2017, I really loved your browser IO videos! they helped me learn about the games that I played I enjoyed watching you do hard challenges. I grew out of the bubble and watched different content, but sometimes I see you there too. In the comments and what not. I see you in a lot of xQc's comments and it reminded me to check on your channel now. Congrats for being on the platform for this long! Happy diep anniversary ig 🤷

Diep is the best .io game made ever. The amount of fan sequels made after the game despite the game being closed source, and those sequels actually reaching success and having communities around them shows exactly that.

Thinking back I remember having so much fun with max reload max movement booster, before the update that slowed down max level tanks, Flying through enemy bases avoiding base drones and ramming anyone inside, ah how I'll miss those times...
Man this reminded me of when I played old robocraft. I remember when there was a rare chance that instead of a team vs team it would be 1 mega robot vs everyone else. It was the most fun playing as and against the mega dude. I miss that sorta stuff...

Just yesterday I got in a match with a 200+ level guy in bonk, since he joined (it was quick play, and I play this gsme for about 2 years now) I got about 9 wins, the guy with me got about 11, and the 200 level dude got 54.

I was the sniping class main back in the hay day, Deip.io got me through a lot of boring evenings taking turns with my brother, one of the best tank class builder games and there's been nothing like it since

I remember when the leaderboard was the tank that kill most players
I remember playing it in school when I was bored, I always played the team modes because I found it easier to get the big points and the cool stuff. It was also fun to cooperate with others to beat the enemy team(s). I remember playing as the spike dropper class and forming an impenetrable shield for my teammates to hide in. I also did that thing as the drone class where you'd hide in your team's base and make the drones move away from your mouse to kill stuff without leaving your base, it was surprisingly effective and I got plenty of kills with it. Good times.
