Scorching hot today from early on. Started by walking to the village of Chapel le Dale and past the church to soon arrive at the path junction where you can carry on around the side Whernside, or climb up to the summit. As I had already done Pen-y-Ghent and Ingleborough on the previous two days, I had to do Whernside as well. It's quite a steep climb up and hard going in the heat, but worth the effort and luckily I got decent views at the summit. even though they were a little hazy. After leaving the trig, it was moorland walking towards Dent, and the view looking along Dentdale is absolutely beautiful. After Dent there is a long steady climb up to, and along moorland before dropping down again to reach Sedbergh.
Lovely walk but so very hot which made it more tiring.

That boggy section on Aye Gill Pike was still very boggy a month later when I decided to catch a train to Dent and then walk over AGP to Sedbergh - still with good boots you can keep your feet dry, well you can until one boggy section went over the top of the boot!!

Oh dear, not so good getting a boot full. I take walking poles with me and check the boggy sections, and although it may take longer I have so far avoided going in too deep.
