Just a observation. Regarding your Caster vs Archer talk. You are correct, because logically. Casters always need to chant or whatever to cast spells. Which takes up time, where even seconds are precious. Meanwhile a archer just picks them off within said seconds. Or interrupts their casting.

I disagree. Magic has fundamentally more uses, strength and efficiency involved. Especially if the caster is skilled, whereas an archer of the same level will almost always die.

After Roland's bloody victory over the chaos spawn, his men saw him for who he truly was. A true lord. One that would guide humanity and eradicate the evil. Whether it be as a duke or king, his men would serve him in life and after.
Great episode once again Surreal! I think Roland deserves all the credit he is due. A legend in the making. Can't wait to see what you decide for the future episodes
At 21:50 - having a variety of food increases your morale and increases stewardship.
For morale, it may be worth keeping small quantities of rare food captured from enemies.
The way you deploy your artilery mr. Surreal .. for example cannons, you need 50 engineering on you main character, then you go to Nuln, talk to the Master Engineer there, do a short quest-line for him, after which he will allow you the usage of Nuln forges, there you can buy cannons and guns AND recruit Engineers who level up into artilery crews. At 50 engineering you can have 1 artirely piece on the Battlefield, you press you magic button "Q" by default and scroll-wheel until you see an image of a cannon, then you click to "cast" that summons the cannon and the crew will automaticaly run towards it to operate it. :)
What about for a trebuchet? Same process?
you just need archers! They are your crewmen for the trebuchet. after you have 50 enginnering you can place 1 trebuchet. you can have an additional trebuchet for every 50 points of engineering. It works exactly like stated above as well!@@SurrealBeliefs
@@SurrealBeliefs i would assume so but for its respective city. I am not sure, I havent tried the trebuchet yet. If you need a quick way to level up engineering and other skills tho you can buy scrolls from the magisters in cities and use them like books in the old Warband, you read then and get XP to whatever they are about.

One thing you can do with the portal to avoid the map is you can go in then instantly retreat and the army will pop out and you can fight them normally. It's infinite too. Good for wanting big battles. They do seem to have buffed chaos to more lore standards
Christmas has literally come early, i can never say no to a Bannerlord playthrough bonanza! 10/10
The Battle at the Chaos Gate, while thrilling and engaging, did once again illustrate the weakness of a homogenous army, namely an all Cavalry army. Normally, I would again strongly recommend going for a Combined Arms force for more versatility, but I understand it would not be in the spirit of the story we are going for.
I think once Roland actually has a city and an army that is larger than the party he can take with him, he should raise a balanced army for major battles like this, but still spend most of his time with a mounted army when roaming the world.

I was halfway hoping you found a way to make the keep work, you are much better at the game than I am, but oh well, I’ll wait for a new update to revisit this awesome mod :)
I can definitely hold onto it but the maluses are insanely high to the point where it wouldn't do much for me unless I just wanted to have it for the looks.
As to you having another go at it, highly recommend imperial, you can vaporise entire armies with the combo of cannons, guns, and burning heads, it’s kinda amazing ^^ the chaos portal forces didn’t make it to my battle line even though they outnumbered me 2 to 1 :D that little canyon they have to walk through was perfect for burning heads and I killed so many :)

God I’d loooove a vampire/necromancer let’s play next if you decide to give this game another go when you finish with the great Roland. So curious how the Counts will play in this
tfw I had that same problem with Blood Keep, lol. For some reason, Wissenland made peace with the Vampires, so Helga sieged Blood Keep, leveled up her engineering for a second cannon, and after taking it pawned. Right now managed to strong-arm my faction with all my "killing random deserters with cannons" influence to lead the whole damn faction against the pale son of a bitch. Good times.
Of course, I whole-heartedly recommend joining the Empire to kill the vampires, no shortage of enemies there. I even had to fire some engineers to get some pikemen just to deal with them.

awesome episode. the magic in this mod is insane! i've recently started an empire run and the outriders with rifles and the ones with grenade launchers are op af. and it seems there's no friendly fire for the grenades, but i play on easiest difficulty because i suck :D so it might be different on higher. it's unfortunate that magic friendly fire is a thing, i think it's mechanically impossible to script the AI to avoid shooting in own ranks, so i think the friendly dmg should just be turned off entirely, for player and also AI, so that it's balanced. the mod devs done a great job i remember like it was yesterday when the first janky version was released.
also, next week the rogue trader!!! my body is ready to be sacrificed to the golden throne.

Shame that my guy had to find out the hard way that you can't marry in the world of warhammer and the guys on the discord said that there are no plans to ever include marriage in the mod.
I guess that helps maintain the virginity of everyone in the space.

Oh man, there was an awesome Berserk mod for Mount and Blade back in the day. It had so many features that other mods could never pick up on. It was SO good.
Gotta love M&B for creating a foundation that this many mods with this amoung to changes are possible. Awesome narrative btw love your work. and I got PTSD since you reminded me of Berserk. Band of Hawk dont seem like a bad Idea for Roland come to think of it....@@SurrealBeliefs

Roland should go the Border Prince route, but by taking Vampire lands.
Unify Brettonia and become the King, then aim to conquer the Empire or exterminate the dark forces of the land.

Surreal! I have an idea for a new Elder Kings 2 playthrough. So what if you played a special scenario where you are a group of Falmer that exits their Chantry and tries to slowly retake their homeland once more.
I like it! Are there any ideas to flesh out the Falmer?
So what I had in mind is they are lead by a Falmer man, his name is Narthanas. He and a small portion of his race have had enough of his people hiding after thousands of years. Slowly Nathanas gos on to recruit other pockets of existing un-corrupted Falmer. They band together in a small county and rebuild themsleves a little holding. Soon they set heir sights on @@SurrealBeliefs the cities of the Nords, wishing to diplomatically gain their land back, their holdings and reinstate falmer supremacy in Eastern Skyrim. Though they also kill devolved-corrupted falmer, seeing their fallen brethren as needing a mercy kill. Another thing, these particular Falmer are not genocidal. They just want to push the Nords out of their traditional home, which is Eastern Skyrim. They want their home back, but they are willing to integrate into modern tamrielic society. Hoping to let he world know, that they will not make the same mistakes as their ancestors and attempt diplomacy first with the nords, imperials, and so on and so forth. Reformed falmer
