Not knowing Osha and Mae’s age makes me question what show you’re watching. They clearly said the fire was 16 years ago about a million times and they said Osha was old at age 8 when she started her training. Who knew this was an Easter egg?

Anakin didn't need to be seduced by the dark side because he had already been seduced by his desire to save Padme. All Palpatine needed to tell Anakin was that he could help him save his wife. Anakin didn't need to hear anything more than that.

They probably should have had that conversation anyways to make Sol's sudden unawareness towards Mae more obvious and understandable for the audience. This show is not JUST about the Jedi’s hubris (this theme has been beaten to death) but more about the fluidity of morality and the force.

They force Jedi to be emotionless robots and not have attachments instead of teaching them how not to be subservient to their emotions and letting them control all of their decisions. And above all else, they want a monopoly on the force itself instead of seeing it as something open to everyone and their respective interpretations.

I actually liked the parallel scenes cutting between Osha & Qimir and Mae and Sol. It's a common dramatic device used in many movies and TV series. An infamous example is the baptism scene of the Godfather, cutting between the pureness of a newborn being baptized and brought into the society of god, goodness and the church (we're talking ideals here), and the evil of (admittedly bad and fallen) people being cut down in cold blood.
Of course that was all action while this was all dramatic exposition and mostly talk. But it still works, because in one of the narrative arcs a light side force user is trying to bring another force user who fell to the dark side back to the light side, while in the other arc a dark side force user is trying to bring a former Jedi to the dark side.
It reminds of another time that SW did this, towards the end of TROTS, when a dying Padme is bringing new life into the world while the formerly good Anakin is transformed into the evil Darth Vader that we know best. It wasn't just talk. Something important was going on here that went on to figure importantly in the overall SW story, and we were able to witness it. Does Mae cross over to the light side? Does Osha fall to the dark side? What happens to Qimir, Sol, Vernestra and the Jedi? And how does this all lead to the reality and events of TPM?

Colton, what you’re feeling is exactly what evil is MEANT to make you feel-gross. This is how manipulation works with young people (& yeah Osha & Mae are in their 20s; they constantly bring up the timeline my dude). And you feel gross because you know it’s awful & she’s buying into all of it. In that way, this episode was VERY effective.

to what colton was talking about around the 10 minute mark (the jedi being war criminals and soldiers by the time of the clone wars), the line from the opening crawl of revenge of the sith echoes through the entire discussion about this: "there are heroes on both sides. evil is everywhere."

Because I didn't get to the end, These dudes clearly do not know how women would be seduced to the dark side.
Anakin wanted a father figure, Osha and Mae want to be loved and who would do that better than a hot dude?
Not everything is for the hegemony.

A line that always bothered me from the prequels is when Obi-wan tells Anakin "They´re doing their job so we can do ours!" which basicly means they are dying so we can go forward. Always seemed of for a Jedi to not care at all for life.

I really liked it. Hello sexy sith. But I'm not an insane star wars stan (I'm an insane trek stan), so a lot of the things people are upset about dont register for me.
That being said, who ever is cutting/editing SW shows is making me crazy. These short eps suck, and it feels like a show that should be dropped at once to binge. Not as egregious as Ahsoka though - that show felt like they shook the episode order up like boggle and released it.

Episode was fine. Mike’s laziness in his review and being unable to name characters or to name the actors playing them was absolutely not. Do some prep before shooting videos. This one was terrible.

    "Something to tip the scales."
It definitely sounds like Vernestra is recounting a memory. I wonder if the witch mother, before her death, told Sol that Osha and Mae themselves were "meant to tip the scales." It's something Vernestra had forgotten and discounted into now.

I don't think Vernestra is a Sith, but I do think that her intense secretiveness is going to be the downfall of the Jedi as an independent entity within the Republic. I also think she has secrets from before. I think she is quite aware that the Sith are still present and in hiding, and that she has kept that a secret for "The good of the Order". And I suspect she is personally familiar with either Qimir or Qimir's own master. I also wouldn't be surprised if she possesses a prophecy that indicates that exposure of the Jedis' dirty secrets will lead to their downfall, and her reaction has been to hold those secrets more closely.
