    I would like to see the draining tool incorporated into the cap so there is no extra piece to lose.

    Wow! Just did my first oil change after installing this plug several months ago. (I always keep my vehicles a long time so I decided to bite the bullet and buy one.) What a difference! On my 2018 F150, there is a large steel rod installed right in the flow path of the draining oil. This has caused a big mess using the original drain plug. Yesterday, using my new Ronin plug, I could drain the oil at half speed and avoid the splashing mess. Ford gave us the problem…Ronin gave us the solution.

    I just did my first oil change at home at 27k miles. (Ford pass points ran out) I knew as soon as I did it myself Ronin would be the drain plug I chose. Wow I was so glad I chose this one! The magnet is a no brainer, and install is so easy that I actually gained anxiety due to feeling like I was missing something 🤣 I DEFINITELY recommend this plug if you own a 2019+ coyote f150 or mustang gt.

    I installed one on these on my 2020 Mustang GT. Works great. You'll never have to worry about replacing the OEM plug with any potential supply-chain issues.

      Go with UPR product or modified Dormant plug. I tried this Ronin, it does lock well, it is junk in my opinion. I am using dorman now. Tried fumoto prototype as well. Pretty soon will try UPR. Femco version has also bad reviews

      Hi sorry for the delay, we don't monitor our comments section. This plug will replace any instance where Ford is using their yellow plastic oil drain plug. If your vehicle still has a metal oil pan with threaded drain bolt, this will not fit. Hope that helps.

    Why in the world wouldn’t Ford have come up with this if they were going to totally change the design from a standard metal pan and plug? The new plug is a POS and messier than a typical plug. Would’ve been happy to pay $80 upfront for the Ronin plug if given the option just to save future oil change headaches.

    If it attracts the metal particles, how do you remove it ??? The magnet is inside the oil pan and will need to be cleaned

    If it wasn't for Ford's screw up on a oil drain plug, you guys could possibly not offer your "upgrade" drain plug. Just like everything else on Ford, they come up with special spark plugs that break so much because they cannot be removed in one piece they have to come up with a special tool(how sad, a special tool for a flawed design) to extract the remains. Ford engineers put their heads to how they can creat a problem that never existed before in this case the Plastic drain plug. Pretty soon you guys will offer forged connecting rods because factory ford introduced ABS plastic connecting rods (what a business opportunity) so thats "upgrade" as well. What sorry half ass aluminium beer can built truck. They need to update their commercial where they drop the heavy steel plate that says "Ford Built Tough" and exchange it to that of plastic or maybe a aluminium can will suite it better. Buy American they say...pff😒 thats why TOYOTA takes advantage and has brutal prices on their trucks just because your paying for the common sense that goes into their design.

      It is called progress. An aluminum (military grade) truck makes perfect sense. Old people with old ideas are hard to convince otherwise. lol

      @forgedsteelwrench9249 Před 5 lety +1

      @@biz4twobiz463 🤔right......then there is Ford's plastic drain plug and plastic oil pan issues. Thats some kinda progress (otherwise this video would not exist). Oh yes and the previous generation that had cam phaser issues to point they offered a kit to disable the variable valve timing (ran better without it). You will be happy when ford offers ecoboost made entirely from plastic and call it progress.

      @@forgedsteelwrench9249 ... better than steel LOL!! You think plastic as a 2 liter bottle of soda, but not composite plastic. The first generation oil pan issues are just that. 1st gen growing pains. The Germans have been using plastic composite oil pans for nearly 10+ years. They WORK just FINE!! Guess what... NO RUST with either the body or other key components. lol
      FORD is leading the way with better and more efficient trucks. Ooooh...let's see... GM and RAM now have aluminum doors, hoods, tailgates, etc!! lol Hmmm, I wonder why?? Ooooooh, yah, to save weight to help with fuel economy. lol!! Welcome to the 21st century!!

      @@biz4twobiz463 Because its been around for 10 yrs it has to be good......thats your thinking?!?!?! So you have never heard of being replaced because the leak (not because of a bad gasket or seal) due to being warped. Bet you have not heard of plastic intake plenums being warped so bad they have certain runners stuck open or closed. Thats 10yrs of 💩 problems you have not heard of and your welcoming me to the 21st century😂😂😂 !!!!! Good luck hitting something on the road with plastic oil pan Oh and a plug that is removed with just your bare hands, you think it will hold up to that of a stamped steel with a real threaded plug??? What world are you living in??? Science or better yet common sense is not your best quality.....😒pfffff "military grade" is that the bullshit that has you sold on Ford??? Aluminium oil pans (if you have ever turned a wrench in your life even though i have serious doubts) can sometimes say "do not lift or jack here" since they do not have too much strength when replacing mounts. Incorrect torque applied when replacing aluminium oil pans can crack if not torqued in proper sequence. Can you imagine how much more fragile plastic oil pan will be after it goes through many thermal expansion cycles of hot engine and cold engine after being off for some time. Aluminum does not make sense on trucks, it DOES on sports cars. Plastic does not make sense at all on anything automotive. If you want light material with strength get to using carbon fiber (THATS 21st CENTURY MATERIAL) and drop the weak plastic money saving bullshit.
