There is a lot to like with this grill, the question is which one should you get? Should you get the 285 Travel Q or the 285 PRO. What we are going to do is explain the upgrades between the regular 285 and the PRO and hopefully this will help you decide which one you want to get. It basically works like the regular grill in every way. The cart is fully collapsable and really is a great design if you are on the move and take it one the go, the grill folds up in less then 10 seconds. The pro does have 2 major upgrades. The first is the hood is taller and a little beefier. That allows for more real estate within the grill itself, so you can fit more food vertically. The second is the grill comes equipped with a full size propane tank hook up. So it can accommodate a full size tank or a portable 1 pound tank as well. So that's it! Hope you enjoyed

I appreciate the time you took to making a 5 minute video. I do. But that could have been summed up with a taller lid to fit taller foods and it comes with a 1 lbs to 20 lbs propane tank hose. Because you can buy that hose for $20 at any number of places and also works with the TQ285, the the higher cost gets you a taller lid exclusively.
thanks for the feedback
Yep, could have been a 1 min video.
Perhaps the biggest difference that I didn’t hear mentioned here is the lid on the Pro is cast aluminum versus stamped metal for the regular version. This makes a big difference in heat retention and turns the unit into something that can actually perform pretty well for things beyond burgers and steaks. It also makes the lid quite a bit stronger (though heavier). The lid on the Blue regular version also has a problem with the finish flaking off.
Thanks for commenting!
Great grill. Just got after being a Weber man all my life. The two burner is the deal. Weber please take note :-)
agree!
Everybody needs a friend like Trevor
Haha
Thank You. Denmark here, could not find any comparison in Denmark, so You helped me a lot
Glad I could help!
I don't really grill but this was easy to carry and bring with me camping as a backup in case czcams.com/users/postUgkxTAV04Wwc8vZvciP7ycqR1S4raCS0TnUc I couldn't get a fire going. In my opinion it is better to bring a charcoal grill instead of a gas grill as a backup because if it rains or the leaves around are still damp from a recent rain; you can use the charcoal to help your fire keep going even though a gas grill is easier to temp control with. Overall, pleased with my purchase.
Nice
Luv the Napoleon travelq scissor cart. Weekday quick meals. Crank it up to 700 degrees for excellent steaks. 3/4 mins per side for 1 & 1/2 inch medium / medium wells.
so good
Is the cart available for purchase seperately? Was looking for something like this for my go anywhere grill the cart design is perfect (I'd put a sheet of metal. In the center to attach the grill via bungee cords)
no you have to order it one way or the other. Either a table top or a cart unfortunately. If you want something like that I would take a look at the everdure Force!
Yes its available on amazon for 224$
Thank you for the great review! Can you tell me what the total depth of the scissor stand and grill with the lid closed and the total depth with the lid open?
let me check for you
@@embersliving he’s still checking, it’s been 1 year lol
Nice review except one thing : VERY poir choice of room. It was way too dark.
sorry
How much weights 285 standalone version and how much the PRO standalone version?
where are you located?
@@embersliving Too far for personal visit unfortunately or do you mean that napoleon has different regional versions??
MiH1IT well the pricing is different between The states and Canada. Not sure where you are at? Don’t forget to subscribe!
@@embersliving Sure, but I'm curious about weight difference between those two models (standalone versions), not price. That's easy to find :D
can this fit in a trunk okay? what are the closed dimensions?
yes you can, I am not sure off the top of my head
PRO285X-BK
Can i use the pro with a propan tank?
yes you can
@@embersliving i have just talked to napoleon Denmark ,they say i only can use 5/11 kg tank on the pro
I’ve done it. Denmark is just being anal, as usual. Direct connect it, don’t use the hose.
can you still screw the 1lb bottle in?
yes

Still waiting for a call back from you. Made three calls into you people to purchase but had 2 questions first. So you can even call me back, I can imagine what your customer service is like.
its actually nearly 5 stars! Give us a try again
okay so basically just buy a propane tank hose adapter and then don't spend an extra hundred on this. got it
Thanks for watching!
Let’s say I’d like to keep this in my garage, but would like to hang it on my wall. Would that be possible?
Yeah we think that would be possible with strong support! We don't see a problem with it! Thanks for watching
It would mean a lot of cleaning between uses probably but if you’re okay with that then absolutely
@@iLikePie54457 oh for sure, I’m ok with giving it a full clean after use. Thanks!😀
Use lapel mic, audio is terrible, I can't listen without getting a headache.
Got a new mic. We just dropped a video on the Napoleon Freestyle the Napoleon Budget model. Thanks for watching!
Nice beefy video.
Glad you enjoyed it

Appreciate the comment!
so long for so little info
sorry
If you're going to have the word "review" in your video title, perhaps you should actually USE the grill? Geez.
unboxing and reviewing is a huge niche on youtube. We also do cooking videos. Thanks for watching.
