I do not agree. All of us have preferences and obviously some has limited budget. Not rich people would likely to buy the cheapest ones of the version and still be contented. Speedcubing community is not all about competition or being the fastest among the group because you got the most expensive cube, it's be in a cubing community where you can cube how you want, what you use because all you just need is to be happy cubing with others.

Another possible reason for the multiple versions, is something similar to restaurant economics. There is a small, medium, and large and while some people do buy the smaller sizes, one of the main reasons for the two smaller sizes is so that when you are buying you look and say "Oh the large is only $X more, might as well get that so I am full (satisfied)". I think it may be a similar thing here, where if someone is buying the cube they say "Oh the full cube with all these other features that I might want, is only $17 dollars more" instead of having only one cube and them thinking "Oh my word this cube costs over $40 that is insane"
In the recent years, I thought the RS3M was more of a prototyping line to preapre us for the flagship line. But having variants of the same puzzle throws a monkey wrench in that. The system works like Budget, Midrange, and Flagship Variants.

I am glad the other versions exist and it has a split piece design, I am now maining a cross-over between the ball core UV and the standard version where it does not have the uv coating or the edge magnets but does have the corner-core magnets
Just got this cube today .It is every bit the equal of the Gan 13 maglev .It's super fast good corner cutting,and the magnets are really strong.I love it it's my new main and over my Gan 12 Gan 13 and YSM 3.I just ordered 2 more in case the next version is different.I This cube is game changer 10 of 10 easy
I got my ball core version of this on Tuesday. I mained the WRM 2019, 2020, and 2021 and this cube is incredible. I didn't touch the RS3M or the YS3M because I knew that moyu would eventually release a WRM with a ball core. I compared the peace design to the 2020 and the 2021 and it's very similar though the edges do you have some scaling on them and the corners have a different pattern on them. There's also some minor structural changes but for the most part it's the same cube but with corner to core magnets and edge repelling magnets. I will say though that the out-of-box experience on this cube was very rough. The reason for this is because the cube is quite loose when you first get it. I think maybe the edge magnets make it so that the cube feels a bit looser and therefore faster as well. When you tighten the centers a half turn on the screw and a few clicks on the adjustment system and then add some lube it just feels like a completely different cube. For the past 5-6 months I've been maining the tornado V3 but this has dethroned it easily. I do still like the tornado V3 for the fact that it's quieter, and I'll likely use it for blindfolded still. The corner twist thing gets solved when you tighten the screws a little bit. If you remember the 2020, it also had a similar issue at the time. And when I busted mine out I was able to easily twist the corners before I had tighten it. I do wish they wouldn't make three versions but I also understand why they're doing it. If you're buying a WRM you're likely going to buy the ball core version because you want the best version of the cube; otherwise for beginners, it makes more sense to get the RS3M or the YS3M. I think the theory is that professional cubers want to have options for different feeling cubes but that only makes sense If they create five versions. One with springs, one with maglev, one with springs and ballcore, one with maglev and ballcore, and one with all the features. They could also just give us springs with the ball core version and that would solve a lot of the issues with people who do not like maglev (since you could switch between the two). I personally like maglev but I know some people really do like springs more. I do wonder if eventually people will start to sell spring kits instead of maglev kits.
I am between buying the tornado v3 or this cube, which one you think is faster but at the same time more stable? I mean, I want the cube to maintain its cube form

Hey, Phil. i recently got the new Tornado and RS3 Super( ball core - because, ya gotta). I have been enjoying them, but after your review of the YS3, I am anxious to try that. Before these, Weilong 2021 was my main. So what I’d like to know is how the V9 compares to the Tornado V3, RS Super, and YS3 (top versions of each, of corse).
This question is unrelated to cubing and I hope you don't mind, but have you ever learnt how to write Chinese characters by hand? How much or how long ago doesn't matter! I teach Chinese and so far, only people who have some experience with characters write squares the way you do (vertical line, then angle right-down, then horizontal line, the way 口 and 囗 are written). I didn't draw boxes that way before I started learning Chines, but I find it very hard to not draw boxes like that now, even in unrelated contexts such as when drawing a checkbox! Also, thanks for the video! :) I have a Moyu Weilong WR M 2021 MagLev now and use it quite a lot.
For a $43 Moyu I expect adjustable magnets.. surprised Moyu eliminated them from this newest flagship. Also, there is a surprising difference between 55 > 55.5 > 56 mm sizes.. so they might as well make 9 additional versions while they're at it 😂 I think us cubers are to blame lol.. we started it with maglev and ball-core mods/upgrades to standard cubes.. Moyu is just trying to make it easier.. which makes it harder lol. It makes sense if you know what you like.. size, weight, magnet strength, springs vs maglev, matte/frosted/glossy/UV, etc. You just can't make everyone happy..
*Update: So I got the V9.. magnets are waay too strong for not being adjustable 😔 and I'm not sure if it's just my cube but I had to put the purple nuts from the YS3M into this to slow it down! Makes me think Moyu slipped up on the design specs and got it backward. 😂 I'll probly end up swapping the core magnets out.. we'll see. I love the way the word "Moyu" looks on the box and think that should be the logo on the cube instead of Chinese symbols I can't read. I drew a funny connection the other day.. the similarity to GAN 11 and GAN 13 boxes was very curious to me.. its seems Moyu is saying to GAN, we're just as fancy as you now.. then GAN releases the Swift Block to say that Moyu is well "swift and blocky" and only worth $13 😂
@@mewtu5817 Hahaha.. I Macgyvered it! Getting the magnets out of the GAN 11 Duo was easy, just used a cloth to protect the magnets and needle nose pliers to twist/break loose. The magnets in the V9 were tricky since they don't stick out enough to grab a hold of.. I used a fine point awl from a mini screwdriver set, heated it with a lighter and VERY carefully melted a notch down the side of the plastic holding the magnet just far enough to get under the magnet and pop it out. Since the GAN 11 magnets are a lot taller, I had to use a mini round file to bore out the holes.. not completely but just enough to finesse them in (if you take too much, the magnets will slide down into the corner piece). Check for clearance with the ball-core and set the depth using clear gorilla glue to hold in place..
Missing the maglev feature in the equation for the ball core. If you take the price of the cubicle kit the UV coating would be 6 dollar, justifies the price even more. Pretty reasonable.
Everyone gonna be fuming that they just got the ys3 thinking it was the flagship, while all the og cubers that were around in 2016 when MoYu relaxed s 3x3 every month were already prepared for this lol.
I would love a comparison between the WRM v9 BC and a mod made assembling pieces from a WRM 2021 and internals (core and tracks) from a YS3M BC internals
What cube do you think is the best not just this year? I don't mind about price, I like adjustable magnet strength, black internals, Gans duel adjustment system, and fast cubes. Which one should I get. I have been thinking about the GAN 356 XS but I don't know. I need someone else's opinion. Thanks.
If you can live without Gans dual adjustment system, I would personally recommend the WRM maglev. It has magnet adjustment and a really simple spring compression system. Also it has purple internals which is like black but better looking. Thx for reading
The only reason I think they should keep the standard version is because everyone says that it is still very similar to the Ball core version and (as I did) some people might buy the standard and see if they like it (I did) and buy the Ball core version (it’s on its way:))
As someone who has the WRM 2021 with core magnets and maglev, I’d say no. Each cube still has a distinct feeling that’s hard to describe. I think it comes down more to the piece design than the internal hardware per se. Both cubes are great though after setup and lubing.
Hmmm seeing my 2 other MoYus (GTS3M and Super) are at their loosest possible settings (ok granted, my Super flew apart once during one of my many solve), I think I'll take the gamble with the MC version set to its loosest possible. (of course it will be lubed up with MAX Fleet and Command)
I'm not a fan of multiple versions of the same cube. I would prefer that they pick the one they feel is the best and sell us that. I haven't checked what the YS3M yet but 4 versions of a cube is way too much in my opinion. That being said, the WRM v9 magic clothes looks pretty cool.
Depends on your preferences for cube feel as to whether u get the weilong ,but personally I wouldn’t buy a timer. I got a gen 4 and while it’s cool 90% of the time i just use my phone or laptop to time.
