It is sick enough doing ONE song by Rush proficiently on ONE of the instruments but all three proficiently in a medley of Rush?? That is near god-like status, my friend. Wow.
That was kick ass , you nailed it and played some of there most difficult songs , very impressive
Pro·fi·cient - competent or skilled in doing or using something. He’s far more than competent or simply skilled. He EXPERTLY played that medley
Your forgetting the keyboards...
Either I stoned or just tripping you kidding me ............................... nope not stoned just awwed
This just blows my fuckin mind how insanely talented this dude is. Plays all 3 instruments. WOW.!!!!!!!!!!! You have got to be kidding me. Insane talent.
This is NOT just some run of the mill musician fucking around on his day off from the factory....this took some time to do and above all talent. The level of musicianship that's behind this is unparalleled to anything I've seen before. Actually I've never seen anything like this before. The drum fills, the bass parts, the clean transition from song to song albeit in the most intricate sections of the songs and then there's the La Villa lead..................damn if I didn't absolutely love this I'd hate you for being so damn good!!! This truly is a one of a kind video. You are the shit!!!!
Thank you very much man!
+Antoine Baril No, THANK YOU BRO!!!
I am stunned as well! I have to go drive, but i am going to wait awhile because I am too HIGH off of what i just witnessed here. I am going to make sure EVERY musician/friend i know watches THIS. This proves what is possible....though I feel like I just witnessed the IMpossible. There is 'NO WAY that Antoine has not met(??) Alex, Geddy and Neil. He definitely has earned that. it was like time stopped as i watched this video...he brought me into that unique 'Rush space' with his excellence. I am glad that he never sang...because if he by chance sings like Geddy, that would have been TOO MUCH for me, and I fear I would need somebody to push me around in a shopping cart, after that. Mind BLOWN. Hail Antoine...you made my week.
Anton, are you a professional musician? If not, why not for Christ sake!
There's a guy that does it with vocals too! czcams.com/video/GD5Xo1Tkh4U/video.html
This is beyond astonishing. Words cannot do justice to this achievement.
This is exactly what I feel !
Thank you Satan 😂
@@JonnySublime ?
Edward Yankie just joking about him selling his soul for rock and roll
Exactly my thoughts !
Absolutely incredible!!! As a die hard RUSH enthusiast for over 35 years, it never even occurred to me that ONE human can play ALL the instruments at a world class level like Antoine. The talent, time, and countless hours of hard work are immense. Much respect brother!👍😎
You should hear Tyler Warren (he can sing as well).
I can’t believe this has been on CZcams for 5 years! Dude, that’s one of the best videos I’ve ever seen. It now serves as a tremendous tribute to maybe the best trio of all time. Nice work!
Concur. Except the best trio of all time is clearly Larry, Moe, and Curly.
I know, right?! I just discovered this tonight, 5/19/20, because CZcams randomly placed it on my feed. How was this around for five years without being blasted far and wide?!
itWhere is this video been hiding and how come I didn't find
@@peacefuljeffrey ... And I'm 2 months behind you having his " One Man Yes" pop up which then led to this one. Got busy for a few weeks, but damn... just as stunning.
With each, the creative selections of laying out the medley is... well, beyond impressive. Other than vocals, would any major cover band (or the originals in all honesty [RIP to so many we've lost 😞] ) hesitate to slot this dude into any position?
The man's an animal. Off to check his channel. 😄
That's the best 11 mins and 42 seconds I've spent in a long time.. Very nice job Sir.
I had to do it twice
Your wife said the same thing last time you held up your man seed, lol
Nothing sounds like a Rickey...best bass tone out there.
Your mother must be proud of the 3 of you! You guys are TIGHT!
You are the most talented person on CZcams
Razor Blade no.
yes, he is.
This guy is talented yes. But this still a cover song. What about someone like Stanley Jordan who can play an original composition simultaneously on guitar and piano?
@david gooden: stanley jordan is the most talented person on youtube, too.
David Gooden stfu u try it see if you can
I don't know how you became equally adept on all the instruments that you play, but it appears that you don't have any weak techniques. I really am impressed and I am a jaded musician.
Not to take away from his very good guitar playing, but you can tell by the way he holds the guitar it was not his first instrument.
He his first a metal drummer. Try Augury to find out
@@Morgoth073 drummer is everything. Without drummer there's no band. For strange reason there's not too many drummers exist, so when you start your own band , there's lot of guys or girls wanting to play guitar or sing vocals, but hard to find drummer.
humblebrag!
I bet it sucks when it's time for practice and the guitar player doesn't show up.
Just kidding. You are phenomenal!
The 56 thumbs down are coming from jealous people, as I haven’t seen anybody on this planet covering Rush and Genesis so well playing ALL the instruments. Amazing work, musicianship, sound engineering ... and so one.
next project, one man King Crimson?
Just plain masterful!
I think they're just a bunch of 14-24 year old douche nozzles who know nothing about musicianship and think everything good is EDM off a computer or street rap.
Up to 37 pairs of clown shoes.
Death's Head music mgmt Inc. spare me your douchery.
Death's Head music mgmt Inc. get a life loser
It's too bad Mr. Baril doesn't sing but I ABSOLUTELY LOVE HIS TALENT & MUSICIANSHIP. He's absolutely AMAZING.
Can we take a minute to admire all of his beautiful musical equipment.
I will give 30 seconds max.
That was extremely ridiculous. Definitely the best time spent during the quarantine. Alex and Geddy should be impressed
This is five years old.
To play a Rush medley that tight on all three instruments is just beyond words. Truly jaw dropping.
It isn't often that I'm moved to straight tears over someone covering a song, but holy crap, man ... this is just ... words simply fail to convey how incredible this is. To take three of the most revered musicians of all time, channel their talents into yours, and then recreate their gifts of song with such precision ... it's incredible.
Next project: One Man Yes?! ;-)
the One Man Genesis was outstanding!
That would be so great!
And throw in a One Man Styx for good measure.
Roundabout, Yours is no Disgrace, Heart of the Sunrise....
Jeroen Haans E, L & P!!
Geddy, Alex and Neil should see this! Definetly the best cover I've ever seen.
No its not:) Lotus Land is:)
Neil is gone now. :(
Neal is really sadly missed but yes he would be impressed
@@WeeganTV he said “he” has ever seen.. not you. But yes Lotus Land is great
The way this effortlessly transitions from one Rush track into the next is a joy on the eyes and ears. His level of skill over many instruments is absolutely incredible. I could watch this all day. Check out the one he does for Genesis. Superb 👏👏👏👏👏
What an amazing display of musicianship! I wish I could give this a thousand thumbs up. Incredible!
Me : Lets put a band together, what instrument do you want to play?
Antoine : Go home, I got this.
ACTUALLY LAUGHED OUT LOUD WHEN I READ THIS!!!🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂
@@greggwallace5872 I'd be the worst in his band cause I would drink it lol
😆😆😆
How can you not be impressed? Wonder if this guy likes Rush.? Wow
This is pretty nuts. Astonishing even. However, I say this with kindness - I'd like to hear all this talent put into your music and then posted. Learning note for note (albeit insanely complex) tributes to other peoples songs is cool, but my guess is that your talent can explode in original music as well.
As a lifelong Rush fan myself....I thank you.
I am speechless. That was amazing in so many ways. The Spirit of RUSH is within you. God Bless!
It's hard to describe how good this is.
It is so nice to watch a tribute cover that was done long before Neil Peart passed away. It is sad to see how many people only value some bands / musicians after their death.
WHEN RUSH COMES BACK AND THEY WILL THIS DEFINITELY BE THEIR GUY!!!!!!
Antoine this is one of the most impressive and inspiring videos on CZcams - your seamless cuts between the different Rush songs is just as accomplished as your musicianship.
First thought: he plays guitar and bass. Ok that’s not hard.
Second thought: drums too? Ok, that’s pretty solid.
Third thought: wait, is he playing a Rickenbacker? That’s keeping with the spirit.
Fourth thought: I wish I was a talented as this guy.
Edit:
Fifth thought: he’s covering La Villa? Yikes.
Hes playin bass with his foot !
Sixth thought: Xanadu is missing
Don't forget he's playing keyboard/synth too! Amazing.
My thought is: this man has a lot of money
you think he is talented on this video...wait until you see his "One Man Yes" video. Spoiler alert...pipe organ!
Dear G-d, this is off the charts. Geddy and Alex - if you ever tour again to honor Neil….get this guy.
As a life long RUSH fan I bow to your greatness! AWESOME!!!!!
This video proves 2 things.
1.) People will find ANY thing to dislike, 70 people have disliked a Fantastic and Awesome video. For those 70 people, Jesus himself could return and personally give them another stimulus check and select them safe for the Rapture and they'd still find something to dislike and be "offended" about.
2.) Some people have certain talents that most do not. This guy is Very talented and I hope that he finds equally talented band mates and brings his community (or larger scale) a Phenomenal RUSH tribute show.
Great Stuff and I wish those 70 folks who disliked this video happiness in their sad lives.
Oh, Enki, please Stop with the Jesus blah, blah, blah stuff. He didn't exist. Do some deeper research of the Bible..understand the original sources that were used. Appreciate the Best Band that Was without Christian misinformation being brought in. Thanks!
@@biblebadcopycatofcuneiform8210 See? Point Proven. ANY THING to dislike. Have a Blessed Day Michael T. (Up to You, and Only You, to interpret that how you would enjoy yo interpret). 😁
@@rci30 "See? Point Proven. ANY THING to dislike. Have a Blessed Day Michael T. (Up to You, and Only You, to interpret that how you would enjoy yo interpret). 😁"
Look at my picture, you'll then know I have a Blessed Day/Night every day/night and all the moments in between dusk to the light reflecting from the moon; and None of it is related to "Jesus"..because he didn't exist. This isn't a faith thing, it's a fact thing.
I don't interpret Trees, Cars, people smoking cigs or weed... I don't interpret Neil was fantastic at what he did, I don't interpret a fart from someone's butt.
You can see them or feel them. If you're blind you can still sense them. Hug a Tree, ride in a car, hear the sound of a fart or smell it at times. Enjoyment is a choice. Pain can also be controlled even at extreme intensities. The mind is extremely powerful.
1+1=2. If we want to bring "Jesus" into it then at least recognize we're all "Sons" and "Daughters" of "God"...but then, you should go deeper and ask what IS behind that 3 letter vague word G-o-d. I have.
Your point wasn't proven. I do not seek to be Right or Wrong. Trees and cars exist. I'm not interested in Blind Faith, but what Truth is...there you go. I do not dislike the book character, but the ideas for the book character were not original - they are Mithra and Buddhist as well as others. It's not an interpretation. Much was left behind...and clearly stated. Sooo...Proven.
If you want to interpret something ( incrediblethings.com/web/jesus-spotted-in-a-dogs-bum-bum/ ), look carefully at the dog's butt. Where the anus is you can see the "Face" of Jesus, and where there are darker bits of fur down and to the left or right your mind can see the Hands outreached. If you look at the body, you can see Jesus is in some kind of white clothing. If you're drip-fed a lot of images, or you see a lot of American Jesus images often in movies or whatever..and the dog's fur is white, then it's not hard to see. Or some other kind of animal. The Mind can be Fooled into Seeing something that isn't there. That is interpretation. Or when a language is being converted, translated, or interpreted into another. This can be very challenging to get it Right. Until it is...it is not. Then it's confirmed by both speakers and writers.
But interpretation isn't required for really intelligent people; with Trees, grass, rain, other than agreeing on the Words and Definitions of the words. Smiling.
Tremendous undertaking. Really nailed it especially Neil's snare sound. That has to be a Slingerland snare.
The rest of the world needed 40 years to finally see the dimension of these geniouses, I'm sorry for them
Oh. My. God. I feel like I have been to church. Thank you.
Probably one of the most impressive things I've ever seen
Wow. Just wow. No words. You have my respect, sir.
Whenever I think I’m something special at ANYTHING in life, I can always count on CZcams to put me in my place.
I dont even know what to say..........
Wow. Simply Amazing.
Amazing. I'd love to know who these jackasses are that actually down-rated this, because they clearly are just bitter and untalented. :D
Great job, man. Truly impressed.
The Grez nope, just bitter
Absolutely
How can this be a year and a half old yet I just found it? That was awesome man My hats off to ya. Well done
Standing ovation!!!!
90 thumbs down=90 very jealous bitter non playing musicians! This guy is one of the most talented guys I have ever seen in my life.
???
This is by far one of the most impressive tributes I've ever heard, and when it's towards my favorite band, it's truly a must-see. Predicting that I'll listen to this at least 5 different times at separate points, long live Rush!
87 idiots as of 5/20/2020 - how has this been on for 5 years and I'm just now finding out about this musician?
David Deane all under 24.p years old.
I never knew of his existence until a couple of days ago when I witnessed the Yes medley which was as incredible as the Rush one
Antoine is the ONLY drummer that Geddy and Alex should call for a Rush tour .. 🙏 &
I'd pay $500 a ticket to see them play "Farewell to Kings into Hemispheres" it their entirety 🙏
Love your arrangements! All the best riffs, nicely placed. Dude.... you got the high hat perfect with some high end treble right here... I was missing that in the ONE MAN Yes recording... Thank you so much!!
Impressive as hell!!! This video is why Rush is my favorite band!! Damned nice job, absolutely nailed it! 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
How is that even possible? I was fully entranced. Wow.
just went to like this, and saw that I already had some years ago....thank you for the magnificence
Almost 5 years ago. Where have I been....? Neil would have loved it. Awesome.
Wow!! That was incredible!! Especially love your take on the "La Villa" solo. Your tone is killer too!!
Dude - serious respect!! Covering all the instruments in a Rush Medley is insane. Awesome job!!
Limelight solo
That would've been enough
But there was so much more
My soul rejoiced
you, sir, are my new hero! Incredible.
i´m a FAN of "one Man Genesis" and Now RUSH after YES.
NOTE: I am a drummer who plays bass and keyboards but I have no words to classify Antoine Baril.
This guy is a great virtuoso! Thankful for day accidentally finding this channel.
Salute from BraziL: Tulio - in Love with my TAMAAAAAAAAAA -----
He is a musical virtuoso
Wow, as a musician with 39 years experience, I can honestly say that you are one of the most TALENTED multi instrumentalist I have ever seen. Not only that, the recording quality, mixing, arranging and mastering is OUTSTANDING. Well done and THANK YOU for sharing this with us.
Mind blown. just... wow. The talent of this man.
Wow!! Who needs Rush??
J'écoute, je ré-écoute....C'est vraiment excellent. C'est un talent extraordinaire. JE ne m'en lasse pas ! Merci Antoine !
These are some of the greatest talents in history on their respective instruments, and he is doing it all. Sorry folks - this guy sold his soul to the devil. If only he had bargained with Lucifer to be able to sing too. Seriously, how does this not have 10mil views?
Even being able to sing would not be fair to the rest of the world.
I respect his ability to play all the instruments on these songs (some parts are a bit rough) and the work he put into this fine tribute, BUT, with all due respect he didn't create these pieces from scratch like RUSH did never mind the fact that they did so like 40 years ago. So, he didn't actually surpass them in terms of musicianship. Imho, there really is no comparison.
Uhh, Christianity is a hoax. All of its stuff was ripped off from much older sources and very much butchered. The God thing and Satan/Lucifer thing, are created from older sources. So the Biblical junk didn't actually exist. How can you sell your Soul to hoax religious characters?
Honestly, you have to seek these kinds of videos. Which is fantastic!
Pure awesomeness Fun!!👍👍😊😊
All these years later- I still watch this, I still marvel at your talent.
Have any Members ever contacted you, commented on your work?
So sad for the world to lose Neil Peart. You are his Chester Tomson.
Alex Lifeson probably spat his beer when hear this. Geddy should
be flattered.
What are the dislikes for? That was pure perfection if prog rock is your thing and if it's not, well just admire the quality of the musicianship. He is absolute class.
Lost for words, just amazing... Performace, production, perfect
Holy shit dude- you nailed it! That was incredibly impressive, given just how precisely you played each part, and how very complex and difficult they are to play. And on 4 different instruments!! 👏
I will be sharing this with other Rush enthusiasts 👍
I think it's safe to assume that well all the other kids were playing video games Antoine was playing till his fingers bled. You're AWESOME brother!
I had the pleasure of meeting Antoine in California wile he was touring with The Musical Box. He could not have been a nicer guy.
Who the hell is this guy !!!???!! Amazing Talent !!! He's being shared on my Facebook page !!!
Danny Boy it's me hehe! Thanks man!
Antoine Baril Amazing talent, my friend. Extremely well done!
Not your everyday replay - top-notch, excellence: playing, mixing, composition, and most of all LOVE!
A million LOVES for this.
Like we say here in Latin America. Un "Capo" Antoine Baril. Bravo 👏👏👏👏👏
That's just pure awesomeness Antoine!. I am watching this as I just heard of Neal Peart's passing! Thank you, sir, for all the amazing music! RIP Neal!
Antoine j'adore ton solo de guitar sur La Villa Strangiato, tu y met autant de passion et d'émotion que sur la version originale ... c'est magnifique !
The 75 thumbs down are all jealous, envious and they WILL be found and their thumbs shall be REMOVED!How U could have the unmitigated gall and temerity 2 dismiss this brilliant performance shows how truly lacking and
undeveloped their aural cortex cerebral function is.Antoine, once again, you've shown why you're in a class of 1!✨🎼🙏🏼🎼✨🇨🇦
This video should have 200M views.
I loved the witch hunt part.
me too! that was somehow really different, and reeeaaally good :-)
I know, it has a very a powerful sound!
really impressive.... as a huge Rush fan my whole life this blew me away. Cheers to you brother.....
+Mark Elia Thank you very much! :)
This is the third One Man video by Antoine Baril I have heard tonight (Yes, genesis and now this). It's 4:34 in the morning and I will now go to bed somewhat stunned after hearing and seeing this very talented musician. Goodnight from a UK drummer ...ZZz...Zzz...zzz...
FLUFF YEAH!!! That was so fluffin awesome! This musician was on cue and right fluffing on it! Fluff yeah! 👍
Made me smile. Which is what it should be all about. Great clip.
WOW.... let's see... the right word... EARGASMIC!! Spot on on all aspects... The mere fact you hit all little things that most people bypass just to get the song done, you didn't do! That shows 100% dedication and respect to how Rush has written these songs! THANK you for sharing your talent with us Antoine.
Insanely awesome. Omg. Ridiculously phenomenal
I am quite simply awestruck. Those segues? Sorry I should have mentioned the incredible musicianship first. Blown away!
I had tears in my eyes the whole way. This is love and talent to the nth degree, ROCK ON!
Antoine, absolutely amazing. I cannot imagine the time effort and commitment that it took to make such a tribute to R U S H. Thank you so much with sharing your talent with the world. You have assumed control, and drank the milk of paradise.
Mind blowing. The part that really tore my head off was La Villa Strangiato. The dynamics were spot on.
You sir, are a prodigy, a savant, a mythical being. I have just discovered you and cannot fathom how deep and wide your talent goes. God has blessed you abundantly with raw talent that few will ever achieve in a lifetime or even several lifetimes. Rock on brother and keep on sharing your gift with us mortal humans. Gratefully yours, a servant of God.
That was the most amazing rush medley's I've ever had the good fortune to come up on CZcams suggestions
Totally blown away thank you for uploading
That limelight solo always gives me goosebumps hearing rush play it and you sir did the same.
Totally awesome & respect for your dedication 👍
I’d come out of retirement, get my chops back and start a group with this guy doing original music
IMPRESSIVE is an understatement Antoine !!!!!
If you can master a Rush song, you're truly a master of your craft.
This guy can play in ANY band he wants to.
WOW! Amazing!!! Thanks for that
I would be happy to play just one of those instruments that well. To be able to do them all is just insane. I hope you at least get a job working in a studio band. Amazing.
This man is utterly astounding
Yes,,, play Rush, is no easy task,,, and he does such an excellent job,,, Brilliant!!
I'm curious to know what Rush's reaction to this is, if they've even seen it. I'm guessing a VIP personal meeting is in order, if not. I am speechless, this is so good.
Never had any contact with them, they are vey private and I respect that.
Yes, quite private, but truly humble guys. Canadian, eh. Happy to sub to your channel, and keep up the amazing tributes with your brilliant playing.
Outstanding and inspirational. As a lifelong Rush fan and guitarist I can really appreciate and enjoy this video. Even better, my 14 yr-old drummer son and his band have picked up on Rush's greatness and are spending hours learning and performing their stuff. He's also doing the synth and picking up the bass as well, so I can't wait to show them this video! Thanks so much and keep it coming!
My God, Neil Peart would be so proud bro rippin it
Having listened to this guy playing all the Yes songs near on perfect, here he is playing Rush near on perfect....I think if Geddy and Alex ever thought of having one last go of it, this fella would be do Neil proud. Antoine, yet another fantastic 10 to 20 minutes of great music and musicianship - Voila
