    Dear Sir, Your work is truly amazing. I have no idea how you are able to craft all these pieces with such precision. You have my deepest respect and appreciation. The whole world should know about your talent.
    I wish you all the best, keep building please!

      Thank you, David. I'm one of the last craftsmen who work in metal entirely by hand that exist in this world today. And it is very comforting to know that one can build the model that one wishes without relying on kit companies.

    These videos deserve 48 Million views and not just 48000 views. Is there anybody that you have taught these skills to? As a homebuilt aircraft builder and pilot, this attention to detail is giving me sleepless nights. A few little people will actually really see the true craftmanship that goes into making all this detail.

    • @rojasbazan
      @rojasbazan  Před 4 lety +3

      Manie, for this kind of work these 48,000 visits are a lot. I have uploaded to youtube other 15 videos and to reach to this figure they took years. Most modelers today only assemble plastic kits and call "detailing" the process of adding commercial accessories. Sometimes someone bends a little wire and places it inside a cockpit and calls that "scratch". The word "scratch" is also being misrepresented: some plastic modeling magazines put the word "Scratch" or "Scratchbuilding" as cover titles, but inside, the article says that the modeler used as a "base"...a plastic kit! Even the world of technology stole our words; now on the internet the words 3D or Modeling or Modeler refer to a virtual world, where the image inside the monitor is only 2D. I am one of the last craftsmen alive who inherited that tradition of the aviation modeling of the 30s, 40s and 50s. Thank you for your nice comment. Manie.

      Guillermo, yes when I saw the first video of yours, the one of the Stuka Bomber, and I saw that you have constructed the stringers and bulkheads from scratch,making indentations in the skins from the inside for the rivet head effect on the outside, the controls and gauges and switches inside the cockpit, everything exactly as the original, only to a much smaller scale, it got my attention 100%. Do you glue all the parts together? Would you be able to make a video to show in more detail how you construct more parts? It will surely be very interestingly to see how you make the ribs, the sliding canopies, the throttle quadrants, the hinges for the ailerons and stuff. Thank you very much.

    Llevo siguiéndolo hace ya un año, año y medio, me subscribí enseguida, desde pequeñito que me atrajo la aviación y los modelos a escala. Pero con lo que puedo observar en su ARTE, y modelado, detalle, jamás lo he visto. No se si a nivel mundial existen maestros constructores como usted. Pero cuando he visto que tenía dos modelos más terminados, un afán de verlos inmediatamente...
    No se si hay cátedra sobre esta gran pasión de los modelos a escala. Pero sin duda, usted es uno de los mayores exponentes mundiales, y en eso no tengo dudas, tras viajar por casi todos los portales de you tube, viendo y admirando esta pasión. Agradecido estoy de que exponga su arte e ingenio al mundo. Gracias MAESTRO.

    • @rojasbazan
      @rojasbazan  Před 4 lety

      Thank you for the comment, sir. Some modelers promote their "natural metal finish¨ models, but use commercial kits and cover them with foil metal. Incredibly some magazines call that "scratchbuilding" instead of "kitbashing". Very, very few modellers in the world build all-aluminum scale airplanes from scratch.

    I've been following your work for years and I've always been in awe of your work. I feel like no other models can compare to yours. Just the attention to detail is simply amazing. It's like the entire original aircraft has been shrunk down to desktop size. I read that you're considering releasing a DVD that shows your techniques... Is that still true? If so I'd love to buy one just to see how you do it.

      Thank you for the nice comment, Bryant. When the B-24 is finished I will continue with the tutorial project. But before publishing a big and complex book and the DVD, I am going to offer a basic tutorial that is accessible to all (low price compared to the expensive book) and possibly more interesting for modelers who want to know only my basic techniques and not so much about my biography, anecdotes, experiences and all the stuff. It is the "Tutorial Kit", a combo of DVD, booklet and aluminum parts (ribs, stringers, panels, curved cowls, etc.). The "Tutorial Kit" will be ideal for modelers who want to have access to my techniques soon without having to wait any longer until I can present a more complete and in-depth tutorial.

    Thank you for taking the time to share this amazing workmanship with the world.
    I agree with you that you are sharing what is at risk of becoming a 'dying or dead art'. As a person involved in aviation heritage, I hope there is a means by which you can profit from sharing your skills and methodology so that the time invested in doing so is of benefit to you.
    I believe you would be commercially successful if you were to produce a series of books covering the various techniques you use. There is certainly enough demonstrated in this model alone to cover at least five books. E.g. metal fabrication, metal shaping and mounting, fabric covering, plastic moulding etc. I know I would buy them, as the techniques would translate to any scale and would prove helpful in our restoration of our aircraft. We are currently fabric covering a full scale replica Sopwith Camel.
    I wish you every success in your endeavours and hope that your talent is rewarded.

      Richard, thanks for the interesting comment. Yes, I have already finished half a book with a coautor. My biography, anecdotes, experiences in four different countries as a professional aviation model maker are ready. Now I have to write the final chapters about my basic techniques. The problem is that I am not going to deliver this material to anybody without first being sure that I am going to earn some money (for my retirement). Making money making books is very difficult; publishers pay nothing; you have to follow the self-publishing system and that's exhausting. In my case the best thing is to make DVDs tutorials with a lot of images and few dialogues because I have many fans from countries that do not speak English or Spanish.

    Hola señor Rojas Bazán. Lo saludo desde Argentina. Entiendo que eres argentino también. Y deduzco que tal vez eres uno de los miles de argentinos que dadas las circunstancias que hemos vivido en nuestra tierra haz emigrado a otros lugares y no podré conocerte personalmente en tiempo breve, aunque si tengo la idea de poder conocerlo personalmente más adelante y expresar en persona mí profunda admiración por semejante trabajo de realización total.
    Lo tuyo no es hacer maquetas, o hacer investigación histórica, o también reingeniería, o escultura como alguien en buen tino sugiere por ahí, lo tuyo es de un talento único comparable al de Pagani con sus autos de alta gama (Huayra y Zonda), o Pininfarina. Realmente creo que un talento como el suyo, es comparable y equiparable con el que tienen esos desarrolladores de esculturas automotrices. Usted bien podría ser uno más dentro del selecto grupo de gente que solo podemos contar con los dedos de una sola mano.
    Tratándose de aviones, podría ser uno de los "bad Boys" que diseñaron dichos aviones de la segunda guerra mundial.
    Que genial que es su trabajo y cuidado al hacerlo. Y lo admiro y felicito por dicho trabajo.
    Un saludo enorme desde Argentina.

      Hola Cristian, muchas gracias por tus palabras. Es verdad, en Argentina -pese a que logré trabajar simultaneamente para el Museo Nacional de Aeronáutica y el Museo Naval-, era imposible que yo pudiera vivir de esta profesión (un tanto extraña para muchas personas). Si vives cerca de Buenos Aires o Mar del Plata, en junio del próximo año haré una visita. Podemos encontrarnos. Cualquier cosa escribir a mi correo privado (en mi sitio web). Saludos cordiales.

    No sé si lo pintarás, algunos esquemas de pintura de los japoneses con el desgaste de la pintura son estupendos, pero así se ve mejor todo el trabajo.

      Hola Luis, tanto tiempo! No te contesté antes porque ando muy atrasado con mi actual modelo, un Ju87 B1 muy complicado (super detallado con movimientos mecánicos), así que entro a leer los comentarios cada 15 días.
      La revista japonesa Koku-Fan le dedicó un artículo a este A6M2, que ha sido considerado el mejor modelo construido sobre este famoso avión. El artículo está en mi sitio web en International Press (hay que hacer doble click en el link ¨Press¨). El cliente lo quiso sin pintura porque se aprecia mucho mejor la construcción en aluminio. Te envío un abrazo!

    This is piece of art why don't you make a flying models like this RC scale !

    • @rojasbazan
      @rojasbazan  Před 5 lety +3

      This is an engineering 1:15 scale model for exhibition in museums or collections, not a model for flying and having fun. The model is hyper detailed (including the Sakae engine) and is built entirely in aluminum. Obviously it is absolutely impossible that this kind of model could fly as regards the weight (in addition to the price, which would make no one dare to fly it).

  • @ahhsgvr
    @ahhsgvr Před 4 lety +1

    I have watched most of your videos at this point. You are a true craftsman. Can you tell me how many hours do you have invested in this build? What are using to form the bulkheads and other structure pieces? I see you use epoxy to join pieces, do you use this to join the skin to the frame? Again, fantastic job!

      I built this Corsair about 25 years ago and it took me about nine months. I am currently working on a Ju87 and it already takes me two and a half years of work. The difference is that today I am better model maker. I work all by hand and use aluminum, epoxy and glue. I am working on a tutorial book. Thank you for watching.
