@ThisLittleWonderfulLife - With this noise stuff (i am very sensitive to it as well), have you tried/do you know about these new ear plugs that reduce background noise for those of us that find it overstimulating? Loop Earplugs are just one brand. It still allows you to hear conversations around you, but reduces background noise that can sometimes be grating to our nervous system.
Awesome.....loved it!!!
😆 Ours are: green for compost/yard waste, black for garbage, blue for recycling.
We are similar,Ali, always decluttering, organising stuff, recycling stuff, never ending housekeeping etc, etc,etc...😂.
Enjoy whatever you are doing. See you again soon.
Put unripe tomatoes in a brown paper bag (closed) and leave for a few days. They will ripen nicely, I do it every year in the Autumn.
That navy lobster jumper is amazing!
I have real anxiety around Autumn because of the noise. I don’t like fireworks or hearing trick or treaters outside. I think it stems from my daughter being a terrible sleeper when she was a baby & the permanent feeling of being on edge in case she was woken up has never left me 🙉😬
Our bins a brown for garden waste, blue for recycling and green for general waste, my mother in law lives in the next County and she has 5 bins including a purple one for cans and plastic, blue for paper and cardboard and orange for glass, plus a green and brown one….its like a rainbow in the garden at hers.
When I saw your puzzle on the floor I thought you’d dropped your chocolate orange lol 😂😂😂😂
Regarding your brackets - you can buy a style you like and use a spray on antique spray. Also - keep the dresser by your bed. My husband and I have two smallish dressers for bed side tables - a great surface for lamps and lotion as well as the odd book (in my case a Kindle). I use the drawers for odd stuff like a spare flashlight, cleaner for my glasses, and tissues for night time sniffles. Other drawers hold scarfs and pajamas. I love drawers! We don't talk about the number of bookshelves in my house🤣
Thank you so much Ali. I have emailed my address. So excited 😵💫 Sue x
For a minute I thought that puzzle on your floor was your chocolate orange🤣 we have chickens so love seeing what treats you give them x
I was just about to type the same thing lol
😂 very glad it wasn’t!
Me too! 😂
Congratulations Sue
Hi Ali, I think you're supposed to put an apple into a paper bag with the tomatoes to ripen them... it emits gasses that's speed's the process
I live in a village Ali and Saturdays here (Cheshire) are no different to any other day. If you ever move house I’d really recommend a village xx
Keep those drawers
Have you thought about buying some Loop earplugs? They help cut down background noise but you can still hear things like someone talking to you or the TV. They help me with my noise anxiety and sound overwhelm, especially on public transport and in shopping centres
At first glance I thought the puzzle on the floor was your chocolate orange! 😂 Glad it wasn’t!! X
😱 thank goodness it wasn’t! 😂
Congratulations Sue! We hope you absolutely love our subscription! And truly thank you again Ali, these vlogs are quickly starting to become a highlight of our day!❤
The noise we had yesterday ( Saturday) was the Flying Scotsman huffing and puffing going about 300 yards from our garden. 🤭. The noise was also me shouting “ it’s here, it’s here” 😁fortunately the neighbour was also out waiting to see it. But I fully understand what you mean Ali. ❤
In Australia we have a green bin for green waste, Red bin for general waste, yellow bin for recycling just some useless information for you. 😊
This is the kind of useless information I enjoy! 😂
I enjoy your witterings❤😂
❤❤❤ Suze ❤❤❤xxx
Would you do a clay modelling session? That'd be fun. I reckon many of us have a block stashed away 😊. Maybe you could use the cookie cutters with clay.
❤
When you were explaining your shelves project I completed you sentence: "book deep" I said before you said it and I thought "aaah, minds alike think alike" :P I also experience noise anxiety come the weekend, especially during summer, everything and everyone gets louder than usual, people meet people, etc. Not knowing what is ahead is extremely anxiety inducing. Down the road, only a 100 mts away there's a venue for weddings and such, and they used to play very thumpy loud music all night and morning. Thankfully they sorted it out but I can totally relate to your fear. I think we could be really good friends ;) apart from the paddle boarding, that is. You'll never see me near any type of surface water or any type of water, actually :P
I know that lockdown has super sensitised me to ALL noise. Dogs barking next door is especially annoying! Ps the lobster jumper is exceptional!
Another way to ripen your tomatoes is to wrap them in newspaper or put them into brown paper bags and leave them in a dark place like a kitchen cupboard then check them every few days and you will eventually get nice ripe tomatoes 🍅🍅🍅❤❤❤
I cooked your chicken soup recipe tonight and it was delicious! Thanks for the inspiration ❤️
So glad you enjoyed it! 😃😋
Congratulations to the winner 🎉🎉 Ali thank you for a great vlog ❤
Thank you Ali good idea for tomorrows meal I have all the ingredients 👍 & it looks so lush
Don’t you feel virtuous when jobs all come together
I have been cleaning the window seals & crevices of spring summer gunk only done 3 out of 7 windows but feel achievement 😅😂😳
Your soup sounds delicious, I love your 'witterings' feels like I'm sitting with you chatting about all and sundry x
Thank you for the gift of your vlogs. A real highlight of the day! 💕💕
Poor heyhey, maybe you should knit her a coat now its getting cold, if she'll wear it lol.
Midnight Garden by Haig
Thank you for another great vlog. When I was a girl growing up in rural Arkansas,in learned that only one element will ripen tomatoes…heat. Set them along the window and the warmth of the sun pouring through the glass will ripen them. Dark places are for ripening bananas. We also had a big weekend of cleaning out the yard getting ready for the winter (I live in New York …… rural NY now). But most importantly we cleaned out our garage so we can easily park both cars inside. Snow will come! Take care and I’ll be looking forward to seeing tomorrows vlog
Another beautiful vlog Ali!
Thanks Ali, really nice way to spend part of my Sunday ❤
Your not so chicken soup looked so yummy!! Your vlogs are never too long for me! Thank you for taking the time to do vlogtober! You are a joy to spend time with!!❤
Lovely chatty vlog today! I like the idea of plain oiled wood shelves! I think that would look great! Also like the idea of your slightly different chicken broth! My husband would love that puzzle as he’s a puzzle fanatic and it would keep him quiet for ages xx
I am exactly the same with newly plastered or painted walls. Takes me a looong time to put anything back up!
I love these chatty vlogs where it feels like were sitting next to you and watching you do something! I just did some decluttering and organizing yesterday, and like you I find it very satisfying. Making a space more functional and beautiful is one of life's little joys ❤
Love your chatty vlogs & a good organise 💪🏻❤
Have you taken a look at IKEA's picture ledges instead of shelving? No brackets to disguise.
Dinner looks delicious, I am really enjoying your vlogs
Ty for another wonderful vlog! Enjoy your Sunday!💕❤️👏👏👏
Your chicken noodle soup sounds lovely and the frogs in the pond are so cute x
Lovely vlog. I could eat mince pies all year..I have not seen any in our stores yet. I wonder if you could buy brackets for your shelves and spray paint them an antique colour. Four frogs is incredible for such a small pond, the habitat must be lovely. You achieved a lot of sorting today. Take care
Thankyou Ali as always, did I hear vlogmas 😉❤
That chicken pasta recipe looks awesome thank you for sharing! Have you seen the new mint Choc orange? I used to love the orange ones but the orange tastes too artificial to me now, I am hoping the mint one is good 🤞
💙💚💖🍁🍁🍄🏡
Love UR vlogs,
Elaine🏡
Well done Indigo Sprite - excellent name Sue! Also, I'm very much a "oh a 33 minuter excellent!" so never apologise for the length. We had a similar tidying of the garden day yesterday. I really need more baskets...for yarn obviously 🤣
Hi Ali! Antique Bronze is a nice color for brackets-somewhat dark but not black. 🙂
Just ordered blackout stickers, didn’t know they were a thing! Thank you!
Ali, try an Apple to ripen your tomatoes. Apples give off a gas (a good gas!) that ripens fruit. I don't use a box, I use a paper bag. It works every time!! Hope this helps you. Am loving the Vlogtober.
Ethylene gas, which is also emitted by ripening bananas.
Decluttering takes so much time and I am slow at it. Really need to be in the mood but I would rather knit or crochet!! Thanks for another chatty vlog.
😂 Why are councils all different! We have a black bin for garden waste(which we pay extra for), a brown bin for glass and plastic & tins, green for general, green box for paper & card, and a small black bin for food waste!
I have been decluttering too. Lovely when it's done(if it ever is!)🫣 You need a rest now! 😊
Thanks for these blogs Ali, really enjoying them. We've got some of those mini strawberries. They grow all over the place, I think the seeds get spread by something eating them. Make lovely plants though. Also sensitive to noise. Our neighbours 3 doors away seem to have never ending build work, with accompanying radio. Now resorted to gardening with headphones on 😁. It's never to early for mince pies x
Thanks for clueing me in to blackout stickers. There are way too many glowing lights in my bedroom. I ordered some from Amazon.😊
Yes I Understand about noise …. I am exactly the same ……. And yes we have mince pies as well 😊😊 so no it’s not early 😂 aww Dan how nice of you to buy a wine for Ali looks like a nice one …. Wow 4 frogs 🐸 that’s wonderful … 💞📖💞
Mince Pie, one of my favorites. Difficult to find around here, there is a store called World Market that has them at Christmas.
I called my pre-teen girls 'tweenagers' it suited them! 😃 I was considering buying a few hens but more recently decided on adopting a cat from the local rescue centre. I've been given everything I need and hope to pick him/her up in the next few days 🐾
That chicken noodle soup looks delicious. I may try making it with mushrooms instead of chicken. Yes this was a longer vlog but don't worry, I was very happy about that. I got through a whole cuff on the jumper I'm working on while I watched it : )
Enjoyed your video. This is my first year of watching Vlogtober, I have about 4 people I'm watching every day and its been such fun! Your not chicken soup looks delicious, perfect for a fall/autumn day ❤
Welcome to Vlogtober! 😃 I’m trying to keep up with them all so thanks so much for stopping by here! 🥰😘
💛💛💛
What about painting the shelf brackets you had in the kitchen for your bedroom in the whatever color you like - either as an accent or to blend in with your wall or shelf colors?
I’m the same about noise, but I think I have misophonia because I’ve had this sensitivity/anxiety/dislike to noise since I was a teenager and that’s apparently when it first appears. What gets me the most is building noise, car radios that are on at maximum volume, and doors being slammed - I cannot stand it.
Reposting this in case you missed it the other day!
Hi Ali! I have an idea for your broken glass! In the past when mugs have broken that I loved I would save them and use them as planters. Fill it with soil and add a seasonal flower or plant! That way you can still enjoy it on display somewhere. I hope that helps 😊 My 12-year-old daughter Lucy just started watching with me this week and wanted to say hi and get a shout out from Phoebe! LOL I so enjoy watching your videos, it really gives me inspiration for my home and life, so thank you! Congrats to Lilia, she will absolutely love doing this role, I just know it! All the best!
Jonie
PS My birthday is on the 22nd! 🤗
What a lovely idea! And happy birthday month to you! And hello Lucy 😃
Love that dresser! Hope you restain or varnish it and not paint! Of course it will be nice whatever you choose! ❤
So with you about the noise. Two pet hates, builders radios on too load and car radios on minimum so you can’t actually hear anything but a murmur. 🫣 I’ve also left plenty of hotel rooms with wet tissue covering those annoying lights too. 😆
That Rose looks good. Im the same 11.5 is what I like, nothing stronger if I can help it. Its sometimes difficult to get 11.5 but I buy the white Soave from Lidl . Will look into Aldi for that one. Oh mince Pies, never too early, love them and a Choco Orange. I would say thats all my fav things. What a good Hubby . When i saw the wooden puzzle on the floor I thought for a second you had dropped your Choc Orange !! x
11.5% or under is perfect for me too, I’ll look for the soave in Lidl! Thanks for the tip! I like the 11.5 cotes de Gascogne too - in Asda (mainly) Aldi and Tesco 🥂
Hey Ali, the next time you need to revive some pasta, try frying it up with some butter/olive oil and then adding your other ingredients. I promise, it'll be worth it, extra scrumptious.
Ooooo! That sounds delicious!
Ali where did you get your alarm clock?
Sorting old toys brings back so many memories doesn’t it. Hard to let go sometimes. I must admit to saving things ‘for grandchildren’ and I’m glad to say my two grandson have played with my sons toys and I was tight to do it xx
The Midnight Library is a great book. Have you read it? I wanted to give a copy to everyone on my Christmas list this year. So inspiring! Please look it up if you haven’t read it. : )
I loved this book ❤
I loved it! Listened to it on audio and it was so enjoyable 😃
Hi :) Had a giggle when you were showing things in your room saw 'left' written on your left hand so is there a back story to that?? Lol
Haha! It actually said “sept” - I had written it before going to sleep the night before but can’t for the life of me remember why 😂
🤣oops should have checked better.......... but thats funny. 😂
Command strips?
Do you have a cat or is it the neighbors cat?
Your bins don't make sense 🤔 ours are black for general waste, brown for paper/card and blue for plastic/glass/tins
