I'm a terrible commenter as I put all my favorite vlogmasers (Ali, Gayna, Becky, Paula, etc) in a list and play them on my TV. It makes it feel like you are all sitting and chatting in my home which feels so good at this time of year! I love the yarn from Suzanne for today - Christmas cactus was one of my mom's favorites. Merry Christmas to you all, but especially to you Ali and your mom. I have to admit I'm a bit jealous of you two. How lucky you are to have your mom nearby to go shopping and have a cuppa (I would choose coffee too 😉). My mom is 300 miles away. I wonder if I could finagle a month long visit.... Do you think we could get quite a few lazy, everyday shopping and coffee trips done in 4 weeks??🤔

Lol! 😂 Had to pop in in laugh about the 20 year old artificial tree. Shedding more than a real tree!! So true! That's what happened to ours. We bought a new one with prestrung lights. We love it, just plugging it in makes everything feel festive.
I liked your story about your Christmas tree. The Tinsel Sneeze - my small tree - is one from when I was little. My own son is now 25 and has only ever known that tree. Green tinsel, on thick wire ‘branches’ that stab us terribly as we put it up. Health and safety nightmare. When covered in tinsel and lights, though, it’s a rare sight.
Oh, my, goodness! My husband and I will be celebrating our 20th anniversary in a few months and our Christmas tree, we bought our first Christmas together. So it in 19 years old and sheds more than a real tree. SO..... we bought a new tree this year, too! 🎄💚❤
We dress our kids up all the time like this, with a t shirt over a long sleeve top. Shows off both patterns, then. My mum also commented that they look like Sheldon 😅❤

I had a best friend like that. Besties for over 40 years after meeting at our husbands work Christmas party. I miss having that special “ no matter what” relationship. I hope we get to meet Charlotte!
Tell Dan that my husband does EXACTLY that instead of an advent calendar, he goes onto all his favourite small breweries and buys their christmas selections and then has one everyday (if he's got to drive etc he stocks them up)
I love that your mom does wordle. I also do canuckle, a Canadian version of Wordle. Another good one your mom might like is quordle, there are 4 words to solve in 9 guesses.

You’ve reminded me that I actually need to do some decluttering. I just tend to make lots of piles of stuff around the house and just move them round the place when they get in the way. It’s like musical chairs but none of the piles get evicted if the music stops 😂

So excited here, I finished a black with silver sparklies soft scarf I knitted for my 10 year old granddaughter. I can only knit squares and rectangles. 😂

Looking at your lobster card made me remember a book I just listened to. It is called 'The Summer I Dared' by Barbara Delinsky. It takes place on an island off the Maine coast in the US. The heavy background in the story is lobstering. I thought you might want to check it out.

Finally finished all my Christmas stuff today, I managed to get the tree up end of last week but the boxes were still up. 😂 our tree is about 22 years old I think, not sure how much more time it has but I think I can a couple more years out of it 🤞🏻 I really want a prelit tree though.
You have been doing so well with your decluttering! I do that as well though, take a book usually back out of my get rid of pile, but I’ve done it with some clothes as well.

You mentioned Leytonstone where you got your old Christmas tree. I was born and married there many moons ago. Can you believe on my birth certificate it states Leytonstone as Essex not London E 11. Such wonderful memories of my childhood playing in the forest and the hollow ponds. Sweet memories that you jogged with just mentioning Leytonstone.❤

I bought a Purdy’s Chocolates Advent one for hubby and one for me ! I don’t like white chocolate and so far all 4 days have been white chocolate! So husband it eating it all 😢
