Equal parts survival epic, psychological horror story and coming-of-age drama, YELLOWJACKETS is the saga of a team of wildly talented high school girls soccer players who become the (un)lucky survivors of a plane crash deep in the remote northern wilderness. The series chronicles their descent from a complicated but thriving team to savage clans, while also tracking the lives they’ve attempted to piece back together nearly 25 years later, proving that the past is never really past and what began out in the wilderness is far from over. Created and executive produced by Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson (Narcos), the one-hour drama series stars Melanie Lynskey (Castle Rock), Oscar®, Emmy® and Golden Globe® nominee Juliette Lewis (Camping), Emmy and Golden Globe nominee Christina Ricci (Z: The Beginning of Everything) and Tawny Cypress (Unforgettable). Jonathan Lisco (Animal Kingdom, Halt and Catch Fire) joins Lyle and Nickerson to serve as executive producer and show running partner.
I get why some people say they don’t physically resemble each other, but honestly I think it suits the character of Nat. After 25 years of hard drugs and alcohol, your 40 year old self would look very different from your teenage self as well

Juliette Lewis is actually 50, so she is actually a fair bit older than her character is supposed to be.
Juliette and Sophie may not resemble each other physically the way the other actors do, but wow does Sophie nail Juliette's voice and mannerisms. What an amazing job they did with casting. I need season 2 like right now thank you
Maybe they dont look much alike because of the hair colors? I think Sophie kinda look like Juliette more when she has black hair. And wow, the voice is perfect.
What I love about Nat is that they took the rough as guts character, with a poor / 'trailer trash' upbringing -- these characters often don't get treated very kindly in television shows. They took her and made her one of the kindest characters (or... least likely to kill you, which passes for kindness in this show lol). Really subverting expectations. She puts on a tough exterior but you can tell she's really hurting inside, and she seems like she geniunely doesn't _want_ to hurt anyone. Which I can't say the same for everyone else lol. Complexly acted by both Lewis and Thatcher. Tragic character.
Nat and the coach were probably the sanest people on that island
She’s the only one I like because she wouldn’t have let Jackie die out there. Literally no one else gaf bc she turned around and wasn’t there for 1 minute and they killed the best character 😭
They did an amazing job with the casting. The younger versions have the mannerisms of the adult versions down.

Sophie Thatcher is the revelation of the series, imo. She's equally gorgeous and charismatic. What a stunner.
They did such an outstanding job finding an actress able to impersonate Juliette's voice and mannerisms that well. They don't resemble that much physically as the other actresses but you know it's her.
Not really, they look completely different, as opposed to the Misty character.
Yeah but at the end of the day acting ability is more important, so I think if they don’t look completely alike it’s okay

Sophie was cast before Juliet, her dedication to the role is what ended up becoming a mimicking of Juliet's acting
@@aarone1981tbf Natalie did hardcore drugs and drank a shit ton in the 25 years after being rescued which does explain why she doesn’t resemble her younger self as much and the fact that her teen self has dyed hair also doesn’t help. Part of what makes the teen and adult mistys resemble each other so much is the hair and glasses, stuff like that really makes a difference. In the flashback where teen Nat has dark hair you actually see the resemblance more.
Juliette and Christina are magic together as Natalie and Misty. I would honestly watch a whole buddy cop show with them lmao.
Juliette Lewis is stunning as always but Sophie Thatcher does a great job of playing the younger version of Natalie and she does a fantastic job of matching her acting to that of Juliette Lewis’ adult version of Nat. The casting for this show is perfection. Iconic.
Love the way they go back and forth, younger and older.. I find myself guessing what will happen.. These are great actresses, do not miss this..Its hard to explain. You can feel the changes happen..

Juliette Lewis does a masterful display of a survivor with trauma trying to discover what she is. One of those actors that are always evolving.
Young Thatcher plays off Lewis's jade with youthful spunk. Great actors.

And no, I'm not pitting women against each other. Every one of the four adult women actors is Emmy-worthy. But Ricci has gone above and beyond.

Juliette Lewis is shaping up to be one of the best character actors of recent generations. I was so excited to see her in this, she plays *weird af* so well.

As the season has wrapped up, I couldn't have imagined the depth and richness both of these women contribute to YELLOWJACKETS as a show.
As an avid television critic, I was skeptical, but Ashley Lyle composed an enticing story. I can't wait to review season 2! This is star-studded casting and screenwriting, hats off to Ashley Lyle.

I absolutely love how well Juliette and Sophie translate the role of Sophie between 1996 and 2021. The character’s personality matches well from both actors.

These are the only two that don’t really look alike. They have to really rely on acting to connect the teen & adult characters.

Really GOOD acting. NATALIE is really a mess ! She has never had morales so now she's a lost cause. Always wanting to be needed and accepted. She now is like a runaway train !

I like yellowjackets , especially the young Natalie . But I can’t comprehend the fact that a giant grizzly bear casually walks in , submits himself , and gets get killed by a scrawny girl with just a small knife . Like wtf , it ruins the show for me . But I ll watch it for Nat .
