For receiving only one OS UPDATE this device shouldn't cost more than 250$ It's a shame what Motorola does Shortening the lifespan of a nice all around device
If Moto prices their phones high they can go down to $249.99 without losing any money.
It’s not like android has changed much anyways. Stock android looks the same since Android 12, android 15 feels more like 12.5.7. Also people buying this phone rarely will pay full price as Motorola phones are almost always on sale and carriers will have great deals when upgrading it could go as low as $150
Its not the OS update policy that bothers me its the 3 year security update policy, when a new model is released the clock starts ticking and after 3 years the phone is abandoned on the software side altogether (dont buy used motorola phones if they're older) but if you can get it on release then 3 years is a decent amount of time between upgrading to a newer model.

Just bought one (Caramel Latte) because as an artist its ideal. I haven't found any Cons I had the Moto g Stylus 2022 4g and this is a excellent upgrade the stylus is much more fluid so drawing feels more natural before all I could do was color at best.
having an OLED display is a huge upgrade to picture quality and over 2x brighter than previous Moto IPS displays , the fact that it still beats the Power 5G 2024 in battery tests is pretty impressive. (13.1 hours vs 15 hours battery stress test) although 13 hours is still very good for continuous screen on time.
Picked mine up at Best Buy today. Best Stylus model ever and I had about 5 of them 2020 up until now.
I've had the first stylus and the stylus 2023. I plan to get this one today.
I'm enjoying mine. Great buy.
It will eventually drop to around $250 or less as time goes by then it will be okay to pick up .just not right now .,not worth it for $400 nope .no sir .with lacking some features and lack of software updates . unfortunately.but decent phone .
The 2023 version is 250 new. Just wait a year and the price will drop. The hardware is totally worth 250 even if moto only supports the software for a couple years.

@@Trelitzahit this is my first time with Moto g stylus phone so I don't have a reference point to compare. I still have my LG v60 which beat this phone in many categories. But for the price, Moto g stylus is really good

I mean this device looks excellent and even if it got 3 years total, it might be worth the $399 price. But, why does Motorola keep doing this? Only 1 OS and 3 years of security updates. Samsung & Google offer at least 3 OS and 4/5 years security updates on their lower end phones. It can’t be that hard for Lenovo to support their Moto phones for at least that long too. And $399 is kinda midrange cost so they’ll have to lower the price or offer longer years of support to compete with other brands. But I will say this Stylus will probably run circles around the A series from Samsung and Google.
Hopefully I get that phone soon. It's just awesome. But I do agree on the fact that there's only up 1 year of OS updates. That's the only I hate Motorola. AND the processor, but I'ma keep saying it, Moto G Stylus 5g 2024 is 🔥!

I bought one today at Spectrum for $249. So far so good.. According to the salesman, I got the last 1 in stock in the Spectrum store. This may be the best phone that I have ever had. I love the 8 GB of RAM. Nice and snappy!
I was disappointed and surprised That the phone did not come with a charger. Diss appears to be a little cheap for Motorola. Fortunately I have plenty of chargers at my house.

Very great for the price , i change my Samsung S22+ ( so great cam ) and i very like the moto g stylus cam , the screen are insane like my old phone S22+

We were in Switzerland with my Samsung s10 on the Matterhorn - I could not see anything on my screen!!! Had to stuff it in my coat to even see if I was getting the snowman with the m&m eyes. LOL Samsung left me when they took away - Expandable Memory & Headphone Jack, and Sony's new phone has no USA Version.
Last Motorola phone I bought was the photon which was a great phone but they didn't support it with updates and wouldn't unlock the bootloader
I always want to have at least one stylus phone and this one seems like a really good upgrade from the 2022 version, so I will be getting one of these the next time it has a significant price drop.
Typically you can get one for free (or cost of tax ~ $25) if you switch to either metro by T-Mobile or boost mobile. I have lived out in the middle of nowhere with both carriers. After metro built new towers, their country reception has gotten significantly better than 2021 in comparison with old boost Mobile or old metro. However Dish recently acquired boost, and they have done some significant integration that is supposed to now provide better coverage than even Verizon. I plan to switch back to boost Mobile since they have a 100% satisfaction guarantee for the first 30 days. As of now, I cannot attest to the claims boost Mobile has boasted though. Fingers crossed that it will work out as well as they claim!

Can you confirm if this has eSIM and the secondary camera is actually a macro?
it has dual sim, so nano sim and esim. The second camera is ultrawide. No macro camera, but the main camera comes with macro capabilities. Obviously the camera is not nearly as good as a Pixel or a Samsung flagship, but it is pretty good. Good enough at this price range.
U think the reval 7 5g or this stylus 5g is better?

@@BosunM8James Not that i know of 🤔. If they do it's never on the spec sheet. It should be as it's a good selling point.
@@roadsidecamper It would be a good selling point and I just read the spec sheet for their phones and you're right; no mention of gorilla glass. I'll have to look into this deeper but I thought I found an article once stating that Motorola was going to use gorilla glass exclusively on all their devices. If I find it I'll post the link here.

Exc review and very good specs on this phone. Im just "very" leary of Motos upgrade path and software updates. Moto lacks in updates
Im going to wait I think until they have a sale and order straight from motorola. Sometimes when you go to their site they will offer free ear buds or the Lenovo Tab p 11 with a keyboard and stylus. Right now they have the moto g power on sale with free ear buds worth 129.00. I love their g stulus. I have had them all every year since the 2021 model so I really don't care much about the OS update fiasco. I realy wish they would have put the higher end chipset in this year but i guess getting the OIS for image stabilization is a trade off.

But I don't support Moto for using a 6gen 1 Snapdragon processor it's 2 years old they must have gone with a 6 gen 3 or a 7 gen 1 or 7gen 2 instead in this $400 price range.
But overall its a nice phone
Still using S10e with android 12 in 2024, run smoothly.. so I imagine that this phone still be able to perform well for 3-5 year to come..
I have to disagree with you no phones last 2 days on one charge
It depends on how you use it. If I get a day out of a charge, I’m 100% satisfied.
S24 ultra always last me a day plus no low power mode
I have an S24U, and I can easily get 2-3 days out of 1 charge. I’m not a heavy user, hell I would say I’m not even a moderate user. Texts, do a little surfing, check Discord, and social media. I don’t even hit 1 hour of screen time a day most of the time.
This phone vs thinkphone or oneplus12r???
Phones are too big I miss compact devices that fit in your pocket

Real quick question: bought the Revvl 7 pro after seeing your review...took some videos and pictures with the awesome looking 4 camera design. Photos were awesome, videos looked good but the format is incompatible with much of my editing software and programs. Even multiple video converters can't fix it, any ideas?
I think there's video converters in the app store. I've had to do that before but it's been a few years. I found an app to do it but not sure if it still available. Have you checked the play store?
@@TheJames-Edward Yes, thoroughly tried 5 of the most popular apps for video conversion-well versed in these things but I've never had so much trouble...it sucks too because the videos in question are very important and I could never remake them with the same effect
how does the battery life compare to the motorola edge+ 2023? my carrier offers both of these and I cant decide. I use mostly for listening to podcasts at work and need something that lasts long. right now I'm using a moto g ace and has held up since I got it in 2021 but battery is starting to go coput

Base version is only 128gb through Spectrum but it's only $250. I just needed a good cheap phone for now. I have anytime upgrade so I can replace whenever I want.

I bought it at $350 with tax $381, 3 cases, and a 512gb SD card, I thought it was gonna be much bigger taller and wider, I kind of wish I would have went with a old flagship like a Samsung or maybe a pixel

Oneplus 12R is basically the regular 12 with last year's specs at a midrange phone's price, google pixel 8a not a bad choice, 1 less camera it seems (I could be wrong) than the oneplus 12R, great photos and videos either way and stock android experience. The motorola G stylus 2024 if you want the stylus functionalities (note taking on the fly) photos and videos are 'okay', better than 10 years ago, still not the end of the world

My con for this phone is the charging 30 w charging should be quicker than an hour and 15 minutes and that's from 20%

Maybe 2 or 3 years at most. And then I would want a newer phone anyways. But I would not pay full price for this phone. I would wait until it goes down to the 200s.

@@JSwish29 because I want an unlocked phone with the top specs. I have noticed that the locked phones tend to have lower specs than the unlocked versions. For example, one of the phones I bought through a carrier was supposed to have 8 GB of RAM, but the locked version only had 4.

My issue with Motorola phones is they are great for about 2 or 3 months then they start lagging , apps crashing and phone restarts it's self.
I’ve NEVER EVER had a problem with a Motorola Phone to date, and I’ve had 6 different models that I pass on to Family members as I upgrade !

Only problem I have had with my 2023 is it gets hot. Other than that it has been a good phone. I would check your phone for malware and do all the cleaning up of app storage, cache cleanup and deletion of old stuff on your phone.
I Haven't had many problems with Motorola phones either. That's why I always get them
@joec2157 I've had 3 different budget motorolas in the past and the speakers always go out and when I call someone they can't hear me unless I put the phone on speaker
