  • Can you answer the question? Getting old is weird and quite surreal.
I want to know what you think about how life progresses, do you think older ways are better. Do you find it hard to get your head around an ever changing world around you?
Let me know in the comments.

Ahhh... yes! What you are feeling is normal, Christian. I can tell you that at 61, some days I feel 161. I crouched down to the level of my grandchildren recently and toppled over like a roly-poly toy! I'm not overweight, but my balance and strength are just NOT the same. The weird "hair growth" issues are common among BOTH men and women. I swear I have chin hairs that literally pop up over night (thank goodness for magnified mirrors!). I do love laugh lines, though. They say a lot about a person. Love and laughter in life are key. Wear those, wrinkles, and gray hair, like badges of honor! They all indicate a life fully lived. I'm not even going into alllll of the physical health issues that I now have. I believe that these are called "The Golden Years" because you need a goldmine to survive! 😆 I too agree about the self checkout, and other forms of the lack of human interaction. It's isolating. I can tell you that it's a huge factor in depression, and declining overall health. Especially, among senior citizens who don't see family or friends often, or at all. Sadly in the US, that is a prevalent scenario of epidemic proportions. I don't have any great answers, other than to practice mindfulness and gratitude in every moment, one day at a time, to the best of your ability. But aging is daunting. It certainly does become very overwhelming at times, due to everything you mentioned. Hang in there, my friend! It's the circle of life (cue "The Lion King" music!). Namaste and peace, love and light to you, and to all of us! ☮️ ❤️ 🌟
PS: A recent meme that I saw said, "Note to self: Do not sit on the floor without a plan to get back up." Truth!!!

I know exactly what you mean Christian! One of the things I really miss is going to the record store and thumbing through the rows and rows of vinyl. And yes, I hate the self check out lanes also. Everytime I start feeling old, I remind myself of the fantastic music I grew up listening to and the phenommnal concerts I saw. Puts a smile on my face everytime!😊

    Hi Christian. my
Mom and I are listening to your talk. I’m age undisclosed and she just turned 67 this week. she says … to do both things: age gracefully and stay young, she says. She says to think about something else and… she says you look great and should not worry at all because all this is natural. thanks 🙏🏻✨🤍 from your friend Nana

My husband and I both turned 46 this year too and we are experiencing the Old too!
Ooooh the hairs 😂 from the head to the nose and ears and possibly the back for you gentlemen and us ladies gain a mustache 😂.
I now understand my parents and grandparents as well. I was just discussing with my husband the other night about why I had to be in my 40's before being able to see the world it really is.
Even feeling old I am far more content with my life and throughly enjoy my garden, I feel less stressed than I did when our children were little and we were chasing fancy cars and the perfect house. I am realizing what is truly valuable in this life and appreciating the beauty of the Earth and our little plot on it. I am able to stop and smell the rain and see the beauty in the sunsets, if getting old is what it takes to have the peace I have now then I am happy with that trade off (for now at least, ask again in 10 years 😂).

Yes! That’s it! I don’t see the point in getting the newest whatever anymore and I take pleasure in more simpler things as you have said. I think there’s a point where one becomes tired and it’s a shame all if this isn’t realised until later in life.

Your brain thinks like 25 but you get much wiser. I’m in my winter years and I can say time goes very fast. You can’t get it wrong and you never get it done. We start to die the day we are born. It’s all part of life as a whole. Happiness is an inside job. Just take aging as gracefully as possible. No one gets out alive. You’ve got to roll with it baby!

I believe everything you said is going to resonate with us “older” folks. I’ll be 55 next month & pretty much everything you said, I’ve been feeling the same way about, with the exception of the self checkout lines. I actually prefer them even if I have a full cart. I want to get in & get out as fast as possible. But that’s just my preference. But in all honesty, I think things are just changing so much in the world as far as how human beings treat each other. Everything is divided. You’re either on this side or you’re on that side & the 2 sides just cannot find any common ground. You’re either right or your wrong & there is no in between. So much hate in the world nowadays. I try to stay away from it but when you hop on social media & all you see is people arguing so badly it really takes it’s toll. Then there’s the getting older parts. We realize as people die, whether family, friend or celebrity that you adored growing up, that we also are aging or getting sick. We realize we’re also getting closer & closer to death based on age alone when we see someone older pass. We see our parents getting to the point they’re shuffling around & looking more frail than they did last year. You’re correct it makes us think about our own mortality. I feel sad a lot. Your sadness was evident. The world is depressing sometimes & I don’t think it’s going to get better. With all the social media & people shoving their cell phones is peoples faces when they’re at their lowest is hard to take sometimes. All we can do is I suppose is try to live like want to & go do the things we want to before our time comes. Your videos provide an excellent outlet for me & I’m sure many others. It’s not just about going to sleep for me anymore. It’s about you’ve given me an outlet & place to go & not think about this crazy world & just unwind & put things in perspective for myself. You reach a lot of people with your mediations & stories. You’re making a difference I assure you🙏❤️

I’m only five years older than you but work with the elderly now a lot more, via telecare. (Left telecoms). I get some lovely insights from them.
We feel the changes of our autumn years now - but we are not old by any stretch yet. In 30 years time you will look back and wish that you had the youth of today. I try to tell myself this anytime I feel old.
Since my mid 30’s I’ve had significant joint issues - more than many people 20-30 years older than me. That’s just unlucky, but my body and mind are still young. There are changes yes, and I don’t like them, don’t like the changes after menopause etc but we have to adapt to it.
The tech changes that our parents generation have had to get used to are incredibly hard. The changes our grandparents had to adapt to are ridiculous really. Makes me wonder what changes we face. I believe that we have to strive to keep up to date. Especially for access to banking and utility services etc. some poor people really have no clue and no support. It’s tragic.
As for bodily changes I believe that we have to work out bodies regularly to keep them working. Not to banish the belly but to be able to get up and down from the floor. Real basic stuff. By the time we struggle it’s too late. I feel like I’m waffling a bit but what I’m t trying to say really, is to make a commitment to ourselves to do the best for ourselves. Not to go crazy on fitness plans that are not practical for us, but to develop a routine of regular self care.
As for tech. What will we get next?! I see bio chips and crap like that and an older crankier Helen saying ‘I’m not having that stuff put in my body!’ 😂
Christian- you are young, you are healthy, use this change to plan a long happy healthy future.
I wild swim in cold moorland rivers and a friend asked me why I did it, and I said ‘ because it makes me happy, and I’m not dead yet!’ Find that passion and buzz.

it is a colder world these days, that social distancing has made the heart of the man maybe colder who knows?
people have become grumpier after that coconut19 stuff happened, and the automated stuff you talk about is very true , it bugs me too.
life defintely feels way more shallow then it used to be, keep your head up try and stay in the now, and spend time in nature, way better than sticking downtown somewhere in the city.
and its always good to have a few loved ones around you, or at least 1 friend you can rely on/trust.
life itself is indeed very mysterious /weird.
at times almost feels like some sort of simulation.
we have to try and keep sane tho haha.

    Hello Christan!
I feel the same way that you do about the check out!! Can't stand it and I always think about that person who could be working.... Faster is not necessarily better..
Time seems to fly as we get older somehow. I'm guessing that's were that expression of " Take time and smell the rose's'' was meant for...
Do things that make YOU happy. Carve some time out for yourself and enjoy the outdoors ( when you can of course) .
Why is it that men look so much more handsome when they have gray hair?? Definitely the changes to our bodies is not always welcome.
Use rosemary for regrowth to hair.. Just put some of that oil into your shampoo..
I feel young at heart and don't focus on the numbers . If you know what I mean...

With regards to some of what you discussed…, I know it’s controversial but I love self service check outs.
