Self hatred in the asian community is so sad, be proud to be asian!
Mazie Park. Asian women are so gorgeous. Your femininity stands out naturally!!!
Ive seen east Asians looks down upon south & south-east Asians in uk
I went to a high school in Oklahoma in mid-00's. There were three Asians and people often said to me, "man, your English is good. Where did you learn it?" My response, "uh, Seattle." "WOW, you guys have a town call Seattle in Korea??" 🙄🙄🤦
Oh my god.
to someone who is mixed (mostly asian) and haven't been to the US whatsoever, I'm really planning to but like, I don't want stuff like that to happen qwq
@@annelocked It probably doesnt happen as much anymore, even though the 2000s werent that long ago relatively speaking, there definitely was a change in mentality and image of asian americans throughout the years.
😂 😂 😂
wOaHhhhhh u went to an Oklahoma school? thatscoool. cuz same😔🤚
Hello Kate Choi. I am Korean who is two kids mom. I am posting the comment to say i am so lucky to know your channel because it's really helpful for my English learning. Your videos are really interesting and touching and makes me keep watching over and over. I am very eager to improve my English and now I find a perfect content for my learning. Your channel is very authentic and meaningful to me. I especially watch this clip more than 5 times shadowing. Your accent and pronunciation is very clear and the way you talk sounds intelligent so I fall in love with your channel. Thanks a lot :)
Please make content regularly! Good luck!
Love listening to your voice. So beautiful sounding, bet you could get a job having to do with speaking. You seem like a very intelligent young lady. Good luck in your endeavours.🤓
aw thank you!
Do you like marvel? Yes or no
I'm Asian Australian, and growing up in my primary school years I also experienced situations where I'd be embarrassed to call my mum by how I address her at home simple because it wasn't 'Mum'. Interesting to reflect back on it now since I hadn't really thought about it until you mentioned it! And I can totally relate with the constant appreciation and thankfulness I have towards my parents who started from scratch in a new country and worked hard to build a future for us children. Thanks for the video.
The way you talk gave me chill, i adore you
So great that you finally uploaded the video. Have been waiting for quite long time. Please come more often, you're such an inspiring young lady and I love the way you speak and think.
I loved hanging out with my Korean friends. It was amazing.
Excellent work! 👌😙 Keep it up!
Cheers from a Swiss/Portuguese 😊
I like the way you talk. So comforting
Thank you for giving me confidence of being different from people surrounded. Wish you the best❤️
Hi! Loved this video and it really hit home as I'm Asian American myself and you've articulated really well what I've been feeling and what I've experienced too.
I’m 50% 🇰🇷, 25% 🇨🇳, and 25% 🇯🇵. My dad is Korean Japanese and my mom is Chinese Korean.
I think you're just 5% japanese
Wow that's cool
Marvellous.
Ok than can you speak the language
I love listening to your voice! Very calm. Great video 💕
I just love seeing more and more content created by asian creators! I wish I had more of this growing up but oh well--grateful for having experienced what it's like to be 1 of very few people who look like me in various settings like elementary through middle school.
Thank you very much for sharing your story. I was born and raised in Korean and came to Australia 5 years ago when i was 30 years old. It is different from you but i can somehow relate to your story and i was struggling with language barrier and how i look and culture here but i now started accepting who i am and am so proud of being Korean. Kchoi! I love your channel and hope you are having a lovely day❤️💕
I missed you so much 😍
Thank you for such a kind video as always.
There were almost no Asian Americans in my elementary school too, but I didn't notice until I went to college and saw there were a lot of Asian Americans there. Thanks for sharing your story, I learned a lot~
So relatable. My experience with being Asian American is quite similar to yours. As I have grown older I've developed an appreciation for my heritage.
Omg listening to your voice is just so calming !!!! Great story too :)

I hope to one day create a channel like you and educate others about my week in my traveling job in pharma and share my Korean American culture.
Thanks for sharing!
The video always makes me relaxed and lets me escape for about 10 mins from the work. I don't know why I am inspired by your sharing for many times even though it was just like a small chatting and you didn't say any serious thing. Anyway, all the best on your work and life. Cant wait to see your next video :-)

Even though i can’t imagine how much you’ve gone through during your preadolescence, I found you extremely strong, and this video was kind of emotional for me:)

I have a similar story. Now I have become interested in the history of Korea, how my Korean people live and I feel how the emptiness has begun to fill within me. This is a strong feeling. It is a pity that this did not happen before.
Omg you’re so pretty 💜
I subscribed. 😊 As a eurasian/Hapa, I enjoyed listening to your experiences. I want to make a vid about my experiences as well. I feel like there's a lot of pressure to make it good because it's been on my mind for so long!
Long time no see! It's always calming and interesting to hear you speak.

Hello, I am another Choi from S.korea. I started to subscribe you video to learn English, but there are a lot of things to learn from your video except language. You have appearance what I wanna be, I think people are jealous of what they don't have, even people who look like they have everything. Well, happy to be watching you video again:) Thanks for uploading new video!!
When you started speaking Korean, I almost cried. I don't know why... but there is so much strength and beauty in Asian cultures. (not to generalize, or combine them-- I know they are each beautiful in their unique ways)
I dont know why I'm smiling seeing you. It's like I've found someone 😍
I love your accent and voice 💛
I always enjoy watching your videos!
Thank you!

Another interesting video, thanks.
glad you found it interesting!
Your video is such a helpful one. It helps me realize a lot of things. It also let me know that theres someone out there who has something in common as being an Asian as me. Actually, i’ve always loved being an Asian. I dont really hate any certain parts on my face as well as my body compared to the other races. The only thing is that im an immigrant. I’d say that im fluent in English right now but sometimes it can somehow be a barrier for me. And since i wasnt born here, i really have no clues about American cultures. My school also dont have that much Asians. I literally have always wished to have a group of Asian friends because i will identify with them better even tho we might have different backgrounds. I mean i still get along with other races but i often feel left out. Anyways, u have such a cute voice and i love it :)
You are so beautiful! I love your videos😍

I seriouly hope to watch more video and someday meet you in US as a consultant! (Although I am not good at Eng right now😥) Thx a lot❤️ Hope u have a lovely day!
Love ur clean pure look 💚
This is not the first time that I have a story like this; I had a Korean friend that had tried suicide a few times. She was really ashamed of not being to fit it as a Korean and said that she was going to save up and get her eyes done to look more white. I argued with her so hard to try to make her understand that she comes from a great people.
Koreans are some of the most beautiful people on earth and probably my favourite Asian group to study. There is no reason to feel that you have to match up with ANYONE else.
shughl1 I’m Cambodian French and Vietnamese I think everyone is pretty in their own particular way and it’s kind of offensive to say that Koreans are some of the most prettiest, everyone is pretty in my opinion ( no hate just saying )
우아! 너무 귀여우세요 :)
Woah, I've just watched this, but I was also really self-conscious about calling my parents 엄마 or 아빠 when we were either at school or somewhere that didn't have Asian people around because most of the people at my elementary and middle schools weren't Asian. I'm just glad I watched this because I always kind of thought I was one of the only people who went to a school without a lot of Asian people (I find that a lot of my Korean friends go to schools that have a lot of Koreans).
