That lead in and Lead out is where the torch does its pierce into cut and exiting the cut, and its the reason your sign has those small halfmoon circles on all the letters, (I'm sure you know that now) But for others that read this.

Is there anyway to eliminate those? I don’t know how to address some of these things cause I’m just getting started.

@hacklabryandewitt it's in the software, but think about it as the kerf of the blade always have your lead ins and outs start and stop in waste material. Not on the line itself.

@@hacklabdesign when I’m programming mine I measure out the smallest hole on the drawing and then make my lead in and lead out a tiny bit under that maybe just by .02 and at a 90 degree angle and when you have a big minimum size whole I lead at about .19!

If you place galvanized metal in vinegar for a few days, it will completely remove the galvanic coating with out using any abrasives. It’s known as pickling.

Love the upcycling of the metal from the trash. Zinc coating was my first thought when I saw the sign, good thing you've got someone bouncing good advice to you!

Hey, Are you aware of any US laws regarding what STYLE of sign people can't hold out in public sight? [In front of traffic for example].
I recently ordered a sign that is made of the same material of that of a street sign. So naturally, it looks MUCH like one
[It is rectangular, about 4ft×3ft] .
Before I made the choice to have it bought & shipped to me, I did look to see if there were any court rulings/laws about that type of thing. I didn't find anything about it, so I placed the order.
I understand you're not a lawyer - but before I go out with this sign in the near future - I thought I would run this by you - - -
Just to see if you had any valuable information for me to keep in mind along the way.

So if it's a 4ft×3ft sign, and isn't well ventilated - then it's illegal to hold up in public sight ..?

it would help to have a higher level of "water" when cutting, the splashing up on the metal will help with warping
