@@Random_alien. in the anime community saying dub over sub is a big no no. that and personal bias could of led to the results that we are seeing. this "respect" could of come from guilt because in actuality Dubs won over subs. While the results i just stated is just pure speculation, a video that has dub winning over subs would not work out for him but it would result in loosing following and less new following. The anime community is now filled with ppl who think they are traditionalist and are convince the voice acting hits different but they don't speak japanese so there would be no way of actually knowing that.

The fact that there is a debate on what anime deserves to be the "new big 3" automatically means there is no new big 3. The big 3 is the big 3 is because they were untouched. They were putting up numbers, getting the recognition, and selling out like no other anime/manga was at the time, especially in Shonen. There is no debate about it because it was based on numbers, not how people feel. And to this day, One Piece is still out pacing, practically all of Shonen. So the new big 3 would still be the old big 3.

Big 3 also inspired a lot of current mangaka and brought a lot of fans to anime.
For example i got into anime because i saw bleach for like 20 episodes on animax and i wanted more, so i explored this genre. I also see a lot of influence bleach had in the making of demon slayer, JJK, black clover etc.
There's just no comparison. How can we compare these new series to the series that gave them inspiration to be what they are. 😂
@THE REALEST ONE The thing with that, tho is Bleach, Naruto, and One Peice, all were inspired by Dragon Ball. And Dragon Ball was inspired by the Shonen before it. Givrn another 10 years or so, we will see new Shonen be inspired off of MHA, JJK, BC, and the likes.
I'm not denying that they were and still are, influential shows, but everything that is and has been popular will be influential to something late down the road.

But my second point of how these three shows made anime mainstream still stands. I remember when you were looked down upon and got called a nerd for simply watching anime, but it all changed from the big 3 era onwards.

Started with One Piece, but didn't get it for some time in my country. So I went with Naruto. Cool at the start, But they f*cked up the Anime, hard. At least 1/3 feels like cheap filler... It's not bad like Bleach where 50%+ feels like cheap filler, But still to much. Worst two Anime I liked before.
Only Problem with One Piece is the pace, but that is obvious, because can't Go to close to the Manga.

I feel like a “New Big 3” was possible maybe 3-4 years ago. But anime has greatly expanded in popularity recently. No one show is directly responsible for the numbers either. It’s like an across the board pure stat increase.

Big 3 is like an alias for those 3 anime. You can't take it from them and give it to another. It's not a title that can be pass on like the Presidency or Monarchy. Like Hashirama's god of shinobi title even if there's someone stronger than him will emerge he is still the god if shinobi, not like his hokage title that can be pass on. And the fact that everyone have thier own version of "new big 3", it disqualified thier choice of anime in it, coz not really a landslide choice. I'm a writer, and I feel like I would watch subtitles even if it was dubbed in English. It's just something about being able to visualize the dialogue that really pulls me into the story whether the voice actor is speaking in English or Japanese.

@@coranonthecob1613 tbh it takes at least 10 episodes for One Piece to not feel like a generic saturday cartoon, and it isn't until Arlong Park at around episode 40 that it starts genuinely being goated. Meanwhile shows like MHA and Naruto take less than 20 episodes to show what they're made of.

The PKMN vs YGO question is really fun to think about but super easy to answer.
If you are the protagonist or even a side character:
-YGO is really cool because that likely means your monsters are real to some degree. Maybe it's like Winged Kuriboh, or like Stardust Dragon, who knows. That's super neat. HOWEVER. YGO protags go through some shit man... not worth it. Even a little bit.
-PKMN you go on an epic journey. Maybe you wanna beat the league. Maybe you have some other alternate goal. But you're still on an epic journey. Dangerous sure, in part, but you aren't doing no shadow games...
If you're just a normal ass person.
-YGO the world is run by a single card game. Rare cards are worth fortunes and anyone who has ever played YGO in our own world knows how crazy expensive it is AS A HOBBY. You try your best but ultimately it's just not in the cards for you. You duel as a hobby with an old model of a duel disk (if you can afford one) and maybe go to a tournament here or there with mostly common cards. At best let's say you're born rich and get access to all the latest KC tech. You get to summon cool monsters and probably use your dueling to have some influence over your life because you can afford better cards. You're our world equivalent to a famous athlete.
-PKMN. You live in the world of Pokemon. Sure it has it's dangers. But literally everything in your life most likely revolves around Pokemon. Jobs, Sports, Medicine. EVERYTHING involves them. They're super intelligent and can be a partner in battle and/or a comfy companion in life. The world is your Cloyster. Go nuts. I just watched an episode where a guy was a rancher for Magnamite to provide power for towns in the area. Like, the possibilities are truly insane.
Pokemon takes it EASY.
I mean yeah, but this is assuming that you are lucky enough to NOT be part of the innocent NPCs who get mowed down by the evil teams like hay. Like if you're in Opelucid City when Team Plasma is attacking with their flying fortress? You are just dead my friend. I like a lot of shows both subbed and dubbed. But I agree with some of the answers, it really just kinda depends on the show and it also depends how you start the show. If you start it dubbed, it might be difficult to see those characters speak japanese. You develop a bias depending on your first impression.

I personally don't think there's a new big three, only because the original meaning for the big three (naruto, bleach, one piece) was that those three had the most manga sales consistently for their time. Nowadays people think the new big three is whatever new top shounen comes out, (me personally its black clover, my hero, and demon slayer) but everyone wouldn't agree on that. Like jjk comes out and one show is replaced or now its chainsawman, its just going to be changing no matter what. But the og big three was always universally be naruto, bleach, and one piece. Heck the anime with the biggest come back right now is bleach (atleast to mal).
Bleach has one of the biggest comeback with last final season of anime recently coming back. Plus rumors about the Hell arc beginning. One Piece has still consistently been at top regardless of the people who say they "haven't watched it" or it's "too long". People that have dived into One Piece haven't regretted it. Naruto is still relevant even though I think Borate is trash...but a New Sasuke spin-off just started so things could change again.

Agreed. The Big 3 isn’t a ranking or title you can claim it was a moment of time where 3 series pushed manga itself into its next phase. Like how Gundam changed anime in Japan or how DBZ helped sell manga and anime to the greater western world, these are things that cannot be changed or replaced by new series regardless of how good they may be.

I feel like the big 3 really came to be cause all of them were going thru their biggest arcs for the time. One piece Marineford, Naruto is fighting pain and all the Captains are getting smoked by Aizen. They all were already successful af but for them all to be going thru amazing arcs at the same time really solidified them for a lot of people.

I'm gonna answer all the questions in the vid:
1. Sub or dub? I have to go sub cause there is so much raw emotion and it gets you much more excited whereas dub just doesn't sound right. Though, in a very rare occasion, dub can be better. An example of this is blue exorcist, haikyuu or hunter X hunter
2. Saitama or goku? Definitely Goku. No question about it.
3.Is there a new big three? I'd say no. Nothing can compare to naruto, bleach and one piece and they hold that title forever. I am fine with new good anime being called something else, but the big three belongs to the OGs and that's all.
4. Pokemon or yu-gi-oh?" Definitely pokemon. Yu-gi-oh would be awesome, but living in a world full of pokemon is just better.
5. Which is the best anime out of big 3? I have to go with naruto just because of how much I like all the characters and how excited the fights made me when I watched it the first time. Naruto has a special place in my heart and is my favorite anime. Right after that would be bleach as the fights and characters are awesome. I also like one piece alot but for me it can't compare to naruto and bleach

1 - Honestly this. I grew up watching anime, so Ive seen alot in dub like when I watched TV as a kid, and I watched ALOT subbed when I got constant access to a computer and could watch shit online. Usually, sub is just better, and this isnt even for animation only. Netflix shows usually just sound better in their native language like squid games or some shit than in dubbed. And some ppl were on POINT in this video trying to describe it. You can honestly just hear the difference in effort and quality sometimes between sub and dub. Much like how you can tell the difference of tone and inflexion of someones voice, you dont need to understand the same language to be capable of this. Even though I am a native english speaker, watching shows in their intended language USUALLY just sounds more natural to me. As far as anime goes though, dub has been pretty good, especially in recent years, but there are some oldie goodies too high key that are on par or better than the sub version.
2 - Saitama is actually just a gag character who kills people in one punch lol. I think Goku is boxing in that fight personally, and probably has better H2H and martial arts skills, but if we are following the gag of Saitama just beating people with one punch then i mean... Of course he has to hit Goku but Im sure somebody out there could argue that he can.
3 - The Big 3 is actually a western given name to Naruto, OP and Bleach. There have been "The Big 3" in the past in Japan, but they dont call them that. They are apart of "The Golden Trio." Dragon Ball and Goku used to be the MAIN poster boy of Shounen Jump for these, and back then you could say there was a big 3, which wouldve been Dragon Ball, Slam Dunk, Yuyu Hakusho. This is like 1990s, the 2nd generation of "The Big 3". but this changes when One Piece came out, and NAruto soon after, and Bleach soon after that. The 3rd generation of the big 3. which we still are kinda in. Those were the new hot topics of that generation (2000's), because after Dragon Ball ended, we didnt get DB Super until like 2016-18? Naruto, OP and Bleach filled that void of Shounen Jump "Dark Ages" and became that generations "big 3". As Naruto and Bleach have BOTH ended with a resurgence of Bleach, and One Piece still continuing, that era was actually gone I think until Bleach came back. Even though Obviously all 3 are still very popular even today. If tradition follows, there WILL be a new "Big 3", but that just depends on Shounen Jump honestly. which their decision depends on what fans are consuming more of. In other words, what people consider to be the most popular. As of right now, Naruto, DBZ, One Piece, are ALL still leading titles for advertisement on Games, merch, etc. Bleach now too with the come back, they even have an Ad with Coca Cola or something iirc which is fucking crazy because someone PLEASE tell me how often Coke will collab with ANYONE? Bleach came back and its HOT as FUCK. So these series will continue to be poster boys for Shounen Jump atleast for the forseeable future, we are still in the 3rd generation of The Golden Trio or "The Big 3". You will know its changed once you stop seeing the characters as the main attractions on Shounen magazines, and stop seeing them on video game title covers like Jump Force and shit.
Basically Bleach, Naruto, and One Piece started, ran, and continued the 3rd generation of The Big 3 until now, but it wont be that way forever. There will be a 4th generation, its just not here yet. Shows like MHA are likely contenders though, once One Piece ends and they cant use Ichigo, Naruto, or Luffy as reliably as poster boys for advertisement anymore, but that wont be for a while. You cannot replace a spot in the big 3 of a generation, but there can be a new big 3.
4- Honestly pokemon is for sure just more dangerous lol, think about all the casualties that will happen from pokemon accidents? Wild bloodlusted pokemon? What if a bulbasaur is clumsy and cant control his razor leaf or some shit, its a wrap for yo hand. That being said, a pokemon world would be more fun. and they be hoein the fuck out of niggas in Yu-Gi- Oh too tbh.
5 - Objectively One Piece is just better than Naruto or Bleach, maybe both combined. I think all authors are very talented though, with Naruto's author Kishimoto coming in at a close 3rd to me personally between him and Tite Kubo of Bleach, but Bleach is my fav of the big 3.

My answers to the questions:
Sub vs Dub: I like both If I have time to sit and watch, then I don't mind reading captions. But I usually watch while I'm working and doing other things, or as I'm falling asleep. If I read, then I can't get anything done/can't fall asleep. Plus, Dub makes anime reach a wider audience. I've been getting my parents into anime, and they definitely don't want to read while watching.
Goku vs Saitama: Goku (I know I'll get hate but I don't plan on watching One Punch Man, I just really don't like the animation style personally)
Is there a new big 3: I was big into anime for a time, then life happened, so I only just started getting back into it with My Hero Academia. So I'm not sure what you meant by big 3, like big 3 popular animes currently?

For sub vs dub I personally watch either. But it usually depends especially on which i started first
But for me if it's a. Comedy and it has a dub on average i watch the dubs because English dub is getting more and more outta pocket and i love it. Shows like hinamatsuri, ghost story ( i know is a special case), Akiba maid cafe (sub is just as good in this case) great dubs
The sub/dub question is hard cause most of the time I am watching Anime on my larger screen tv and to have to look down to read and possibly miss some action or whatever sucks. Plus a lot of time I am watching with my new-to anime fiancé who once in awhile will ask a question or I will look at her for a reaction and in that brief moment I will have missed the words on the screen. My biggest reason is, and I know this is my problem and not the voice actors or creators, and I know I can learn to get better but my biggest problem is, I am an extremely slow reader and at times I miss a lot. The other reason is I have some friends that are unable to read it cause it is either too small or too far away so now they miss out just cause of vision problems. Lastly, would be the fact that not all the time but some times I love having anime on (especially anime I have already seen) on one monitor while working on the other monitor. My questions would be things like, why the heck does sub/dub get so heated when it is just a personal preference? How do the creators of these anime's feel about people watching sub or dub? Do Japanese people watch American cartoons sub or dub? Also the people that are so heated and passionate about the sub/dub argument do they react this way for all stuff like foreign films sub/dub?
With all this said, I love both subs and dubs, like a lot of people on this video I have anime that I love more in sub and anime I love more in dub. I do not prefer either, I utilize dubs out of necessity rather than feelings. I would love to ask a lot of the Dub VAs and the Sub VAs if they are personally offended when someone watches one or the other. I have a feeling they would say the same thing, they just want people to enjoy the entire anime not just one piece of it (no pun intended). In closing people really need to calm the fuck down and stop getting so hurt and pissed about this topic and just enjoy it the way you want to enjoy it and allow others to enjoy their way. I say this cause I have been personally threatened by people online for saying I watch dubs, I am not kidding I posted a twitter years ago something like "Oh man just finished watching the Dub of the new Dragonball Super, boy was it amazing." and literally 50+ people got angry with me, several threatening to find me and hurt me. That is utter bullshit.

I agree it depend on show some anime are better in dub like Cowboy Bebop,
Black Lagoon, Hellsing Series, etc and majority anime are better in sub like Higurashi When They Cry, Gintama,
Neon Genesis Evangellion, etc. Only Fullmetal Alchemist series is equally great in both sub and dub and with Naruto I would say people prefer it dub because of Nostalgia like Pokemon this overall proves whichever you first watch and continue to, you will prefer that one the most and that's the end of sub vs dub wars!

Fun fact about Goku vs Saitama Goku has gag feats better than Saitama. He’s broken the manga panel, scared the narrator and has fought off a top tier anime gag character in Arale. Even if you use the Saitama is a gag character argument Goku would still win.
