    Yes! Keep up the story! I like hearing your story and how it compares to mine which started about 25 years prior to yours... Our paths have been very different when comparing technology developments in tow boats, sports equipment, and in water sports themselves. 😎

    I love the wakeboat ownership series! One cool video would be to talk about what kind of accessories you use/equip the boat with. Bumpers, dock lines, anchor, etc. etc!

    Loving the channel! I am currently trying to do as much research as I can in the cost of buying and maintaining a wakeboat for my family so I know what I can expect and also what I can and can’t afford. This would be used primarily for surfing and tubing. Looking forward to watching more!

    Good vid. I would like to add. Not all WB boats are 100k. There are plenty of options out there that offer great waves at more reasonable prices. Not to say they are cheap, 60-70k is a lot of freakin' money for a toy, but, if you are already commited to spend the money and u CAN AFFORD IT, then look at lower cost options. My first WB boat is a Moomba Mojo, 23', 2015, surf edition, bought new from dealer demo for

    Sounds like I’ve kind of been in the same boat as you , just didn’t have the support from the wife . Yours had an excellent point . I just bought my 4 boat yesterday (2012 A22) with hopes it will help me get better and progress as well as gibe my kids the opportunities I never got. Keep up the good work on the videos.

    In ‘94 my dad bought a Four Winns Horizon 190 for $14k cash. The registration stickers are almost a half inch thick on the hull. Countless friends, kids, grandkids etc have learned to ski and wakeboard on that boat. We had her out yesterday and it ran great. I guess my point is we’ve been boating for 26 years on the same boat. No loans, no payments, and we probably haven’t impressed anyone on the ramp or parking area but we’ve sure had a lot of fun.

      We spend summers in Minnesota at the family cabin with a ‘96 Rinker 192 Captiva that has to-date served us well. Using it to pull the kids tubing and having them learn to ski/knee board/wake board. There’s interest in wake surfing so I’m considering purchasing a ‘96 Ski Nautique from a friend to set up for that purpose. I hope this doesn’t lead to a $100k boat, Lol.

    My family had a similar experience. Older Sea Ray turned into a 21 mlx and recently turned into a 22mxz. I didn't have the wife support you have had however she isn't against it either. I think watersports help build confident young adults that have different and higher expectations in life. My teenage daughters live for the water. Keep up the good work! Look forward to seeing your new ride!

  • @hise53

    Yea I would like to take a look at the financial part of this. How did you sell your first boat and into the next. We’re you upside down on the price when you sold ? Did you sell to a dealer or private party. Did they add what you owe to the price of a new boat. Credit scores everything

    • @wake_mann
      @wake_mann  Před 4 lety +1

      I sold my first boat, far from upside down. Next boat I traded in with plenty of equity. You have put enough down or make big enough payments to maintain your equity with a 15 year or higher loan especially on new boats. I may do a video to discuss this.

    • @hise53
      @hise53 Před 4 lety

    100% agree about having fun while you're young before tied down with marriage, kids, family life, etc which normally puts things like wake boats on hold for a good 5-10 years. No one lives forever so why wait until you're retired to finally enjoy your cash in the bank, you could die tomorrow and can't take it with you. While I don't condone being an idiot financially and not saving at all for retirement, but enjoy youth and your short time on this planet as much as possible.
