    And if you do have to tie up to the dock, and there's multiple spots available, please don't tie up in the middle of the two spots. Be courteous & dock in one spot. Another great video, Tim!

    Just go to kims marina at canyon ferry… on a windy day. 😎
    If you damage it by hitting the stop, your stop is not working. Basically if you come in hot, and slam your catch or stop, order a new pad or rubber right away. Also if you are freaked about hitting your prop, raise your bunks. I disagree with winching any more than 1 inch but my bunks are new and my prop cage is out of the way.
    I come from i/o and outboards where we drive our boat right on to the trailer and go… so I kinda do the same, except slower. My winch is used for the final tightening down before exiting the water. With zero damage. Which is why I keep a sharp eye on my trailers condition.
    Oh yeah, I can do this by myself.
    I back the sequoia in( it has cameras galore to assist me there)until the front fenders on my trailer are just underwater( like an inch), give my self and inch of slack and make sure winch is set to wind,
    Go get in boat and drive it up as far as it will go, check my guide poles and see if distance to boat is equal, then connect winch cable, tighten the cable, hop back in the sequoia and pull out of water.

      Nice, I've definitely loaded at kim's on a windy day, never fun at any launch ramp. Thanks for sharing!

    Really good informative video! We always just walk ours on. I’d be way too scared to cause damage to the boat or trailer. Boating season is on its way!!

    It has to be “just right.”😇 It’s always tricky learning new boats or new ramps.

      Very true, every boat ramp is slightly different.

    Thanks for putting together this video. I really need it. I’ve had trouble loading on windy days, especially with strong current. Also I’ve struggled at Bear Lake - multiple boats on one large ramp. Not much room if Im not coming in completely straight. Any suggestions for that? Thanks!

      You're welcome! Try to practice a lot on days when its not busy, maybe winter/off season. Also, make sure you keep the throttle going so your rudder is working; its scary at first but you will find you have more control. You may want to watch my video about how to drive an inboard at low speeds.

    My wife wanted a boat, I told her the requirement was for her to lean to back at trailer AND how to drive the boat. It is WAY faster and easier to have 2 people to be able to do both things. You never know if or when someone may get hurt and the more people that can help get the boat out of the water the better (IMO)!

    I’m really enjoy your channel ,I’ve recently bought a Malibu 23 lsv after always having outboards is the learning curve pretty steep? Also what is a good wakesurf board to get started on I’ve done it behind a friends boat but still in the learning stage the phase 5 model x reviews really good but is it not the one to get going on thanks

      @wake_mann  Před 2 lety

      Thank you! Yes, it is tough learning to control an inboard at low speeds at first but you will get it. The P5 model x is perfect, this is the board I always recommend for a fantastic board that is great for beginners but fast and light enough to do advanced tricks on.

    When you winch the boat onto the trailer does boat move back? I have a 2019 g23 and when I wench it on I get it super tight and then when I pull up the ramp the boat always move back(1-2”) off the roller . Any ideas to avoid this?

      Hi Nathan, I have not personally run into this. It sounds like your winch may have an issue locking. Sorry I don't have more info to help on this.

      @toddhewett1027 Před 2 lety +1

      @Nathan
      Your trailer might be in the water too far.
      If your winch cable is tight with boat in water, then has slack when out, try having truck and trailer pull about 6” to a foot forward(out of water) from where you were at.

    I’d like to see a video on the pros and cons of tongue river vs bighorn reservoir….

      Haha, there is only one pro for Tongue, it's warmer. I will make a note and see if I can make a video out of this idea some day. Hope you had a good Holiday!

      Another pro for tongue… less debris.
