  • This is a fly-by showcase of Vesperanopolis, the second of the districts of Urbs Aeterna to be completed. Urbs Aeterna is the largest city project of Demesnecraft, filled with numerous neighbourhoods that feature many different kinds of cityscape. Vesperanopolis is the "Ottoman-themed" neighbourhood of the city, inspired by cities such as Edirne, Antalya, and of course, Istanbul herself. At the centre of the neighbourhood is a recreation and adaptation of the Selimiye Mosque of Edirne (internal lore name: Basilica Sanctae Vesperae, hence the name of the district). Islamic symbols are replaced with lore-appropriate analogues from the server's internal lore. The neighbourhood itself features some non-Ottoman elements as well, befitting the city's lore as a cosmopolitan city home to immigrants from across the world intermingling within the walls.
The last house showcased in the video is a Hololive-themed project, built in honour of VTuber Momosuzu Nene. It is her statue that can be seen in the "office" in the upper level.
Music is from the CZcams Audio Library.
Fly-By video made with Replay Mod in Minecraft 1.16.2.

ありがとうございます! I do hope I'm doing the beautiful architectural tradition of Turkey justice with these townhouses.

This is amazing, how long was the process of building all of this?

I don't have a good idea for the entire neighbourhood, as work was not done continuously. The mosque was built over around a week many years ago, while the townhouses were built over the two years sporadically. Most townhouses took on average 90 minutes or so each to build, while some of the more elaborate ones took a few hours each. The walls are a separate project and was built over several months back in 2017, and had been renovated and expanded multiple times since. The harbours to the north and south are very large-scale megaprojects. The city that the district is part of still remains incomplete, with about 40% of the surface yet to be developed.
