6201 'Princess Elizabeth' In Full Flight Over The Marches - Cathedrals Express 2016

- LMS Princess Class '6201' makes for a formidable sight as it roars over the Welsh Marches on the Cathedrals Express from London to Shrewsbury. The big red machine is seen at four locations on both legs of the trip.
The first location is Wistanstow, where three angles capture 'Lizzie' working well on the long climb to Church Stretton, the diesel on rear providing minimal assistance which was good to see. The return leg would firstly see the Class 8 negotiating the sweeping curve at Bayston Hill, unfortunately the tour was running late and this meant the diesel was giving a push to make up time.
Further up the line at Dorrington we see 6201 getting well into her stride as she prepares for the tasking climb to All Stretton, fortunately the diesel had eased off by this point. Having now jumped ahead of the train, we catch our final glimpse of the Princess speeding downhill away from Ludlow as she passes us at Ashford Dowdler with a great whistle from the footplate to finish off the day nicely.

Cheers Steve. Hard question to answer really, the steam charter market is unpredictable when it comes to diesel involvement. As long as there is plenty of noise from the steam loco I attend not to notice the diesel too much.
