Still have my marx 4302 in the basement. I thought my mom threw it away decades ago when I became a teen.. After she died, I found it going thru stuff still in the box.. I pull it out and play with it when the need arises. Love it.

Thanks again for sharing! I have two, one from '75 and the other from a show....trying to replace pieces! Shafts are snapped and was able to glue one so far! Corner clips are missing on one side the exterior concrete shelves! 😕 I combined my Battleground sets too! Haha!

    Great toy. Great movie too
I always wanted to get a navarone to use as a warhammer 40k/necromunda battle- objective to fight over.

@@robertgagne2388 right? You could use it as the 'Fang' fortress for space wolves or outright necromunda style terrain- but it could be a planetary defense system, port facilities ,etc you get the point

Loved this toy as a kid. I still have the troops. Although I painted the Germans with some of my moms nailpolish to make them look like the ailen soldiers from V.

@@robertgagne2388 As a kid I had troops featuring US, British, Soviet, Australian, German, Japanese even Italians. The sculps they had back then are miles ahead of anything available today outside of a hobby store.

Actually, the light gray Germans didn't begin to appear in the Navarone sets until 1976. The 3412 sets were from 1974-1976 in two different style cartons. 4301 and 4302 sets begin in 1977 thru 1979.

I have a Navarone set that is olive green. Got it about 1979 and has the painted cover on the box. I didn’t hear you mention that one. Do I have a weirdo or what? Love your videos btw.

I think some else also has a green Navarone Set as well. I have never seen the Green set, 1979 date suggests it could be the MEGO set that came out, also of note is the painted box is very cool and was in fact the MEGO verson of the BFN set. I could be off base with this opinion, but the difference in color could have been a result of color powder mixed in with the plastic. Black was the chosen color for the MEGO set, BUT if they ran short of the black powder dye, they could have substituted the Black with the Green in order to NOT halt production in the factory.

Thanks! And after I left a reply I think it may have been the Iwa Jima set and just not remembering correctly. I think now my Germans may have come from a battlefield set. Anyway I’ve really been enjoying your videos. Keep it up.
