Best part about this hobby is creating a new scape.
All new plants, fresh soil, innumerous hardscape ideas, and then the satisfaction of seeing everything evolve slowly into what we imagined it to be...pure satisfaction!
Oh yessss!!!
Idea for next experiment aquarium light vs cheap Led light
Yeah.nice Idea
Great idea. Should definitely do that
Could we use different kind of led lighting like E27 or GU 6w and diffwrent Kelvin's
@@pedrocastel8177 am currently using a 12w B22 LED with no CO2 in my tank and it is not as good as these ones but they are good enough for me and they are not melting. For better results plant heavily use low tech plants find plants which does well in your locality
@Bartosz Piwowarczyk man in Bangladesh you can get 50 watt led less than 2 dollars
It's amazing how different the emmersed (out of water) and immersed (under water) foliage of the Rotala Orange Juice looks. At first I thought "that's not orange juice" as I have it growing in my tank. But later in your video you can clearly see the changed new underwater growth which looks just like mine! Thanks for another great scape! :-)
Yeah crazy difference!
Looks beautiful 😍. It always looks a bit rough at the beginning. That's where patience is tested...but having other tanks to keep us busy helps.
Very true!
Looking forward to seeing your progress on this aquarium.
It's great to see you scaping from a new setup.
Thank you for sharing 🙂
The scape gives such a good vibe can just watch it for hours in a single sitting
Thanks mate!
Beautiful tank and setup! Love the Java ferns on the wood.
Thanks also for the white slime breakdown - I have this in all of my new tanks, but a toothbrush clean always seems to helpout. I cant add any fish or shimp for atleast 4 weeks because it is a new filter etc... so only thing I can do is clean and water change regularly, so far so good.
okay i love that you showed how to put water when the substrate is already in. a lot of other youtubers skip that part lol like their dirt is magically clean its crazy.
I don't know what does for a living, but one thing is clear, is an excellent teacher!!
Great video. Loved that you showed the progress in the first few weeks which is always a difficult time. Looking forward to future updates.
Yeah usually most tutorial videos end after the aquarium is filled up, but it's important to talk about the rest as well
MJ is one of the greatest flexers out there.
Beautiful tank! I like the contrast between it and the red on next to it. I really think so apistogramas agassizi would be beautiful as the choice of fish. I thought of other fish but i feel this would really add to the colors of the fish tank.
I would love to have a pair of apistogramma in here!
I forgot whose channel I watched it from, but it’s about boiling the spiderwood before doing the hard scape. I tried it out once and I never had an issue with the white film anymore. The video said something about boiling the spiderwood so that it would be a cleaner cut for any unwanted branches and to remove the nutrients that are still in the wood because it’s technically a “root system”.
Great tip.
Or freeze it for a couple of days
Perfect timing for me, I'm doing a refresh on my 30cm all in one cube
I’ve had a yeast sugar C02 system setup for almost 2 days now thanks to your last diy video.
That is awesome!
that sunset is very invasive. i like to think of it as a monster plant it grows everywhere
Good to know 😁
Most new tank go through 'a break in period'. Algae breakout is the norm.
I just got a group of diamond tetras for my 29g Mark they are poppin! Nice little scape for the new year not sure what you should put in there I’m sure you’ll come up with a good option!
Yeah they are beautiful!
I like ur pinsette and scissors look so fancy!!! (Colour)
Cool right! They are from masterline fertilizers
Ziet er nu al weer mooi uit.
the root tabs are really great, totally recommend them! I managed to grow echinodorus aflame in a really low tech tank no water column ferts and low light, the hobby should talk more about this great product!
wow great mark !!!! I really miss the previous scape with the fissidens moss on lava rocks . but we need to rescape our aquarium time to time
It was a beautiful scape, but indeed we need to change things up from time to time!
@@MJAquascaping yep that's correct mark
YO!!! those scissors are fire!
It is an amazing tank
The white stuff is just biofilm, shrimps love it
Please make a video on Beside tank's .. Planting & everything.. 💜
Love from Bangladesh 🇧🇩
The CO2 Information was really helpful - thanks for the content :)
Glad it was helpful!
Great instruction for setting up a new tank. Look forward to seeing it progress. 😀
You and me both!
Fantastic video. Itll help alot of beginners understand things better.
Glad you think so!
Another great scape in your collection - looking forward to seeing how it develops :)
You and me both!
wow this tank is very beutifull...love it
Glad you like it
Such a great video. Easy instructions and very informative. Thanks Mark.
Very welcome
Coincidentally.. I rescaped my old tank and wrapped some moss too... This time I went with peacock and Christmas moss.. But I added some anubias and buce among the moss for some added plant density... Unfortunately didn't use a black thread so the thread is what stands out now
Beautiful design...
Thank you! Cheers!
Nice Video. Can you Tell me What the Aquarium Shown costs in total with Equipment and Technology?
with the dust and regular aqua soil why don't you just crush the regular? Is there a problem with nutrient release if that happens?
Sparkling gouramis would look so good in this setup!
I do love sparkling gouramis!
great video and good info, can't wait to see the second part! I also started a small aquascape for the first time a month ago and I have used chocolate gourami's and pencil fish...I would have liked to see them swimming in this tank too! greetings uit limburg!
Would love to see a nice, colorful school of chili rasbora in here or even more fun: school of Rabora Galaxy 😍 Think you don’t have them yet in any of your aquariums, right? Saw some pale chili’s and 2 nice and vibrant red ones, but no Galaxy.
Compliments for the tank, looks amazing. Setting up a nano with spiderwood as well atm, also full off white funghi now. Thought it could do no harm as I read everywhere but i’ll look into it, thanks.
Nice complete aquascaping tutorial 👍🏻
Thank you 👍
Bro i dont know whether you have added fishes but my suggestion is go with green neon tetra 😊
Prachtige scape weer! Hier kan ik weer veel inspiratie uithalen.
Top! dankje!
Happy to see your video after so long. Very informative guide video. And the scape looks awesome!
Glad you liked it!
How timely! Just watched your video of this build earlier in the week before setting up n 8l jar this way. I've been nervous and procrastinating... and then this in my feed! Thanks, your looks great! Can I have your trimmings? 🤣
Nice scape again Mark 👍
Thanks 👍
thank you mate. great video.
Glad you enjoyed it
Thankyou for sharing mate !!!❤😁
Hope to see the update soon 😊
In This tank.
Oryzias woworae....
Vraiment très beau pr ce tank😉
I love watching new scape videos. This seems like a lot for beginners (Co2). I do love the scape though. Always a good video. 👍
You have done an amazing job, loved watching your video, thanks for all the knowledge you're sharing through this process, guppy fish or betta fish will be the good option for this tank.
Exactly.
Me To.
I cut thé leaves of cryptos.
Its difficult for debutant but its very good for not lost the leaves and to have a problem of amoniac etc...
Kiss from France 😘
Happy New Year. Suggest for the fish : Sundandanio axelrodii or Boraras brigittae. Best regards from Germany.
Great suggestion!
I think you should put some endler guppies into the aquarium! They are amazing colourful fish!
Great video again Marc!
Glad you enjoyed it
Great video. Very inspiring. Thank you
Happy you like it!
Impressive! 💃🏼💃🏼💃🏼
Thank you! 😃
Beautiful layout and a great tutorial. Really enjoyed this one 👌🏼
Glad you enjoyed it!
awesome video
thanks!
Emporer tetra would be my suggestion, don't confuse them with purple emporer tetra, they also look cool, but you dont get the same male-female variation, they aren't the same species. Or maybe some green neon tetra instead, their colours will really pop in there, they're one of my favourites so maybe I'm being biased but they'd also make that tank look bigger. Maybe some pygmy cory's if there's room for them too I definitely don't regret getting mine! I'd personally avoid anything much bigger than what I've suggested because it'll make the tank look smaller. But you could also go for the less stocked look with a pair of apistograma or a betta maybe, whatever you choose will have lovely home.
Green neon tetra would definitely suit this layout!
Yeah I think they'd be a great fit, under higher lighting they shine even brighter, but they do appreciate some floating plant cover especially in brighter conditions, I've used foam and suction cups to create a barrier to keep the cover over my low light plants, so half my tank is shaded and the other half is brighter which has the added advantage of keeping algae off the slower growing leaves.
hey!
i really enjoy your content but one thing which is a bit annoying when watching your videos is to see the white ballance of your footage going crazy sometimes. i would recommend setting the white ballance manually when shooting to avoid the color temperature to change like it does a couple of times when you add the substrate for example.
i don't wanna dig too much into it, i bet there are better sources to learn about white balance than a yt comment section :P
aside from all that, really nice set up!
Thanks for pointing that out! I will try to go manual from now on
I want to do a similar scape for my shrimp
Is that tank 10 acquired! 😅💪🏼 nicely done brother 🙌🏼 welcome to the club 😎
( it always pains me to have to break pieces of anything I’ve just paid threw the nose for 😅💸 (rocks or wood) )
ONLY 8 up and running at the moment 😁
@@MJAquascaping 😂😅👌🏼 only. Love it 🙌🏼
I’m assuming that means we have 2 new scapes coming! 👀😍
This is amazing as always
Glad you think so!
Hey man!, Happy New Year. You got a nice scape there. Yep, I had the same experience in the past with that white slime coat. All the plants next to it melted down. I'm happy to hear it happends to others as well. It was a disaster. That's why I'm planning to do a dark start method this time. I agree with you, if the filter is already cycled, after 2 weeks or so nitrates are ok and you can add a good cleaning crew. I'll watch your video about DSM. Cheers.
I love these tutorial vids Mark 👍
Glad you like them!
just setup spider wood scape and facing same problem like you slim...thanks for advice not plant close to that wood..
Have you try fishing line to hold the LED light, for at more minimal setup. I have used it for mine, and I thing it is looking great :-)
Fantastic video, some really good tips and advice
Add rummy nose and ratbuni tetra or just good old neon tetra 👍🏻
I just love your videos
Thank you
Excellent howto video. You da man!
Would it be possible for a video talking about your fertilizers? And if not a link to buying the fertilizers you're using? Thanks!
Loved the video
I'm happy you like it!
I'm new to the hobby and Don't know much about it so I'm curious whether the plants in a new Scape which are habitual to Co2 will demand it forever or is it that Co2 is used only for rapid growth of plants also Can you make a video about Low tech and High tech Plants please?
Awesome presentation and very informational. Thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Hi MJ, your channel is great!! Love it!
I have 2 aquariums, Im in Malaysia, they are both imbalanced tanks.
What light would you recommend. The Chihiros WRGB 2 is soo expensive here, what low budget lights would you recommend?
Neo soil is available here, the price is ok.
Co2 is expensive, so I do diy.
Nice work on the video. Love the setup!
Thanks!
I think a large-ish shoal of rummynose tetra's will suit this scape well, since the red accent on the fish should pair nicely with the red plants :)
just set small aquarium fr my 9 yr old son, just learn plants need co2, greetings frm singapore
you are awesome dude!!
keep posting such inspiring videos for us newbies
Thank you! Will do!
Love it been a great help ty
SOOOOO AMAZINGGGGGGGG
Love those flux backgrounds! Bit too pricey for my fishy budget but happy to live vicariously through you Marky me lad
haha that's great to hear mate!
Hey Mark.
I keep coming back to this great video, as I am setting up the exact same tank right now, in a similar high tech fashion :)
Why do you say you are positive the plant melt was due to the white slime thing? Nobody I know who has had this on Spider wood, suspected this or saw any plant melt that could have been caused by it. I didn't have any melt that could have been caused by it and I had a lot of it when I started with my first nano. Just want to know your point.
As far as fish goes, I suggest a school of 6 Blue eyed rainbow fish, few sparkling gouramis (so you can hear them croak :) and a shoal of something small, with maybe a hillstream loach and corys on the bottom (this is the stocking I am considering xD )
Do you use the full capacity of the light in the beginning? I have the same light on two of my aquariums and I should say that using the full capacity from the start definitely causes algae issues no matter anything.
Yeah it's quite strong, i have it on 80% at the moment.
hi! what is the fastest time when can put algee eaters in aquarium? and what kind of eaters you recomend? Thank You!
Great video! Also that red tank is looking good!
Thanks!
DEfinitely add a pair of Badis Badis or DArio dario, then any type of small rasboras and danios. Maybe a pair of chocolate gourmais, or honey gouramis.
I was thinking about honey gourami as well!
Great video for beginners. Could you tell me what percentage you had the wrgb2 set at because I have this light and its very powerful thanks
Dumb question: What did you feed your fish at the beginning there? I’ve had the hardest time getting my tetras to find the food, but I love that method of using tongs!
@@MJAquascaping ok danke ..
Amazing video ,fell in love with it 🤩✨..also Wanted to know will the light you used work for a 40inch long aquarium ? Please help I'm a newby !!
This particular one is too small for 40 inches, but they make them in different sizes! The 90cm version would be perfect for your tank!
@@MJAquascaping thank youu so much also I searched them up on Amazon they were available there so where can I buy this from ??
I have a tank that i got for free, with all the cannister pumps and lighting. Its roughly 91×40 or 50cm LxWxH(cm) width and height somewhere between 40 -50cm. With that size tank, what are some easy carpet plants and moss i csn start with? I dont want spend too much of a CO2 system because in australia, prices are generally 3 times more expensive for goods.
Easy carpeting plants are: Monte carlo, Marsilea Hirsuta, Marsilea crenata and lilaeopsis novae-zelandiae
Moss is quite easy in general, so Christmas moss, Java moss, Weeping moss etc
Great layout again, love the dynamic of the roots.
Hmm shouldn't take that long I think... I've never had the twinstar diffusers though.
The ones that I'm using are from Aquario, and i rarely ever have issues with it. I get a fine mist for the very beginning.
@@MJAquascaping Thanks for the Answer - they were looking so similar. I will give it some more patience and then see if I need a replacement or not. :)
You are having amazing scaping techniques good luck !
What camera gear do you use to shoot videos ?
Iphone 13 pro 😊
@@MJAquascaping Thank you for quick response
Great video, and I like the links you provide for the items you use. Do you by chance have links to the aquascaping tools you use?
Suggestion - Harley Quinn will be looking good in that tank.
Yeah I like that!
Great video! I ordered the same lights. May I ask what your light settings are for this scape? Thanks!
I always keep the colors on the same intensity! On the first week I kept it on 60% now it's on 80% and probably in a few weeks it will go to 100%
@@MJAquascaping great! Dankjewel 😊
