    Another great vid. Nice work on those side waterslides. But fantastic work on that interior! Really perfect finish. I need to purchase a few of these kits. I have a 77 El Camino that has over 500k miles and still running good too.

    • @hpiguy
      @hpiguy  Před 5 lety +2

      No offense taken. In some videos I'll show how I do things.
      Usually when doing a kit review I show how the kit comes out, and highlight any issues if it has some. It's a kit review, not a how to build a model video. Though tips and ideas of course do get included in many of them.
      I've started to film some techniques and tips videos on the side of the kit reviews since many ask the same questions as you, and one goes live today.
      As for learning, hell yes. I've been building for a long time and I still love watching other model people and how they do things.

      Best thing I've found for dashes is find a good picture of one online, then shrink it down on a computer to the right size, and print it out. Glue it in the bezels. A good dab of clear fingernail polish on top will give it the look of having the plastic over it.

    Good review & build Chris. It came out looking real good. So, you lost the wire axle? sometimes they like to hide behind the corner flaps in the box bottom. If you hold each flap out just a little , it might come rolling out. Don' ask me how I know this. LOL

    • @hpiguy
      @hpiguy  Před 6 lety

      Thanks Rick! Yup, it's gone. Even dragged a magnet under the bench. Gone like a fart in the wind.
      I have wire that is the same diameter, it's used for control rods on RC airplanes and I fly those too, so I can just cut a piece and use it. Luckily.

  • @truracer20
    @truracer20 Před 6 lety

    I love this kit. It's nice seeing a build done with just polish and clear on the molded in color body. I always liked molded in color kits because they can be built without painting the body or they can be painted ANY color desired. But those billboard stripes Choo Choo Customs used have always annoyed me. The too large door handle and front marker light voids bring out my OCD...
    The 1:1 Choo Coo SS header panel was always an ill-fitting piece compared to stock. All GM G body cars from 1978-1988 had a seam where the header panel meets the fender, factory header panels fit very cleanly but still showed an obvious seam.

      May I ask why it's an issue?
      Primer covers the plastic easily if you don't like the color.
      I like the metallic plastic they've used, easy to just buff and clear if you like the color.
