Went into this expecting the challenge to be an absolute assault but it didn't look like much happened at all. Glad he's OK now. Quite scary when you think of the damage this challenge for a header done to him.
ive had a broken toe and been out of football for 7 weeks and i didnt feel it happen and finished the match. sometimes its small tackles that do it, ive had a rib injury that kept me out around 4 months from barely anything, its suprising how easy it is to get injured.

Thing is you don’t know, a lot of players might genuinely be on temporary pain but be able to get up and keep going after, others might be suffering a heart attack for all you know. Not to mention that many genuinely dangerous fouls would never be called unless a player showed they were in pain or exaggerated the situation, regardless of the fact that they were fouls whether or not a player got hurt. At the end of the day a certain level of safety is important, ignoring players who are actually in pain is how you end up with terrible head injuries, comas, repeat concussions, etc.
I'm pretty sure that Saúl Ñíguez had one of his kidneys explode during a match and went on to keep playing. Of course, he is not worth a tinker's damn these days so maybe he shouldn't have toughed it out.

He was a bery lucky boy. and In a way that injury was the best thing ever to happen to him as it gave him a proper wake up call. He might never play again. He came back stronger and a better player and the rest is history as they say.

There's just inherent danger involved in semi contact / contact sports. I was knocked out unconscious from a seemingly routine play, where a players elbow literally grazed my temple ( at high speed TBF ) I wasnt one for faking injuries and literally couldn't even find my feet 😂😂😂 talking nonsense afterwards 😅
