- Neo's First Day at his New School!!!
Our 3 year old boy Neo was born Deaf with Severe to Profound hearing loss. We tried hearing aids but they were not enough to give him access to proper speech and sound, so he had bilateral cochlear implant surgery at age 1 and that is when he heard his first sound. Since he went his whole first year of life with no access to sound he is delayed on speech now. He has had countless speech therapy sessions and now that his is finally 3 years old he gets to go to a special school made for kids with cochlear implants. He was very attached to his school that he was at with his sister and we hope that him switching schools does not affect him in a negative way. We are excited to see his progression at his new school where there are 90% Deaf children with cochlear implants and hearing aids just like him! We are hoping he catches up quick and could be moved into mainstream school with his big sister.
