Slight correction on the BMW Williams - the car there is the 2005 FW27 car driven by Heidfeld and Webber. The 2004 FW26 was driven by Juan Pablo Montoya and Ralf Schumacher
I was surprised he thought George would NEVER have seen a car with a column shifter. I've seen pickup trucks on American movies with them and I imagine George has too.
Back in the late 1980's I occasionally drove a company van which was a Bedford Midi, Bedford as in the Van department of Vauxhall and it was right hand drive with a column shift which I imagine was rarer. Getting used to driving one doesn't take long though.
Alot of older cars here in Australia have them too
It was pretty common from the 40s to the late 70s. When 5 speeds gearboxes became common, column shifters disappeared as it wasn't adapted for the shit pattern.

With all due respect, but he didn't work for anything, all the cars here are owned by his parents and he just shows them off, the F1 cars are not actually owned by their family either but are from the factory museums who provided the cars for display, don't get me wrong it's amazing that he is allowed to do this and that he drives the cars but don't say he worked all his life for this and he worked his ass off cuz that's not the case😉
