- Gas Monkey Garage is one of the most famous workshops in the world and it's hugely exciting to be able to visit! Join me with Richard Rawlings himself in Dallas, Texas for a full tour through the shop and Monkey Trap housing the private car collection.
During the Where's Shmee: US Edition tour, I've made a visit to one of the most famous automotive venues on TV, the Gas Monkey Garage that played host to Discovery's Fast N Loud show. Having watched many episodes myself, it's an honor to be here in person, to meet up with Richard and to take a look around at some of the cars within.
From the front workshop and ongoing projects, through to Richard's Monkey Trap and private car collection area; it's an exciting time for Gas Monkey and the team with the evolution of the garage and particularly their own new platforms.
Be sure to keep up with Gas Monkey Garage and Richard Rawlings here:

A little bit of fanboying for me, visiting Gas Monkey Garage! Richard takes us on a tour of the workshop and Monkey Trap housing his private car collection. Big things coming from the team on their new channel: czcams.com/users/getmonkified
Shmee I got to ask you that why gas monkey has more classic cars?
I loved watching the programme now seeing the entire collection its insane keep up the good work and great video
A great video Schmee, what a tour of the Gas Monkey Garage.
I love richard rawlings collection
Wow! That was really fun! Thanks Tim for visiting GMG.
It was an absolute honor to have the legendary Shmee c'mon by the shop! Next time bring some spare tires and we'll roast the tires off that GT500 😎
🙌🏼
Richard, even when the cameras are off your still the same a true gear head 😎 love and prayers from Langley, BC Canada 🇨🇦
Obviously you like Fords. What do you think of the cosworth versions? I bet big Chris is a fan of those
Did you buy that TRX from Dennis? I remember he had one for about 2 days and it was sitting out front of his shop
The whole video I was waiting to see the burnout at the end haha. Especially when the GT500 is Gas Monkey Green!
“Alcoholic Rehabilitation Center” over the bar 😂
Haha I was about to comment on that!
typical Gass monkey...or... Gass schmunkey
Noticed that too...and the smurf ! hope they had taken the time to show and talk more about the garage.
A few years ago I visited Gas Monkey garage. I was walking around the fence looking at all of the cars they had in the yard at the time. Ended up spending about 20 minutes talking to an older gentleman about the different builds in the yard and the bays. After walking away I found out that it was Richard’s father. Sorry to hear that he is now dealing with Alzheimer’s.
Was he a giant d bag too?
the crossover everyone wanted but never expected
😂😂😂😂
The crossover I never knew I would like. I can't stand Fast N Loud. But this is interesting
Dude, this tour is a whole new level of epic. Each stop better than the last!
“Upholstery guy” he didn’t mention Sue 😭
Umm pretty sure Sue passed away
@@DaNiElLl430 No
No he had a pretty big falling out over prices and him bringing in other people on his really expensive builds
@@pip8920 is always assumed it was a running joke on the show
Sue the goat FR 🔌💪
"Would you like a beer"
Shmee: cheers!!!!
Didn't you die in 1945?
That’s a beautiful name. Swedish?
Probably the only episode I've watched from beginning to end. I like that Richard didn't dwell on every single car, only highlighted cars with some type of interesting history, and even then, he was still concise
I painted the large picture of Steve McQueen on the wall behind Rawlings in 2014.. Nice to see he still has it.
Great interview. Have followed GMG for an age, but probably never heard him talk so eloquently for so long. The passion really came through. Probably helped because this collection is outside your expertise and you were smart enough to just keep quiet unless addressed 👏
Anyone else getting irritated that he’s hasn’t taken a drink of his beer yet 😂
No because he is actually articulate for once and actually sounds like he knows what he's talking about.
On the show he's always so drunk he just looks n sounds like a dumbass who knows nothing about cars
So it's nice to see sober richard flexing his knowledge.
Pry doesnt take a drink cause its so flat from walking around
No not really he's a weirdo, but he knows his cars 🤣
That is an awesome stop on your tour, Tim.
"Cheers" meets "Whooooooo!" 😉
Yeah it does!!!
Richard has an insane car collection. Its very cool everything he's doing with Gas Monkey and seems like a super nice down to earth guy. Wish you all nothing but the best. Stay blessed
Yeah, it was great fun hanging out with the team
Nice to see Richard again. Love his style, attitude, love of cars.
I'm surprised Richard didn't make an offer on the GT500, I hear he really likes Green cars😂😂
Please don't tempt him even more 😂

The show is end!
"Do I call you SMEE or 150" BWAHAHAHAHA
When he spoke about his Dad and the Mustang, you could see how much that car means to him.
That car is more of an embarrassment to Rawlings . He purchased it as an original GT350 but it was only a clone . Sad that his dad is in a home due to Alzheimer's but i suspect the story is fabricated to cover his embarrassment .
I just came yesterday from Dallas and I meet Richard nice guy I just love how welcoming he is a real gentleman
This was one of the coolest episodes ever. I’ve seen that place on TV so much and I kinda forget it’s a proper working garage and not just a TV set. Richard is a top bloke.
I can see on Instagram that it's a fun mix of cars at Richard's shop.
You bet, what a place to visit!
The black F40 they did is one of my fav's!!!
That was a phenomenal couple episodes, back when I still watched cable lol.
That was AMAZING!!! Massive fan of Richard and also of you Tim so to see you visiting his garage was a real treat. Thank you.
Wow one of my favorite ever tv shows, never seen his personal collection so close. Great video Shmee as always making America great. 👍🏽 I mean highlighting the greatness of America. 👏🏽 👏🏽
1:01 "do you want a beer?" the most Richard Rawling thing Richard has said
It's a Fiero, I think that's the first bit of automotive knowledge I had over you Shmee!
My aunt had 3 back in the late 80's early 90's. 2 were declared lemons, the 3rd(GT) lasted until a tree jumped out in front of it🌳🤷♂️🌲
Met Richard like 2 years Ago Right in Front of his Shop. Nice and Kind guy really down to earth and took the time to speak to me and ofc took a picture with him haha.
What a nice guy . Humble and grateful for his success . I didn' t know what to expect . Just proves you should never judge a book by it's cover. Thankyou for sharing .
I like Richard but he is not humble at all!! He knows how to play the cameras to his favor!!
richards seems so chill. i normally dont like hot rods and stuff, but richards are dope.
Aaron kaufman is much better
@@kenan2736 Aaron is Kansas. Richard is Oz.
@@kenan2736 True that! And this guy is a lame poser! Can't believe Shmee took featured him in the video!
Shmee is "such a fan" he had NO IDEA what the green Mustang was about.
I’m assuming he does, but a lot of his followers over the pond might not.
He reminds me of the adoring fan from oblivion actually
Neither did I
Tim you may not have as many subscribers or likes or antics but I think your the anchor the middle ground the of all and any car channel, tv show etc. The consistency and honesty are indispensable. Appreciate you sharing your passion.
Richard is right. Texas is the best state!! SO many people want to be here. Glad you’re having a good time driving across the state. Gas Monkey Garage is less than an hour away. Glad to have you in the area, Tim. Welcome to Texas!!
You know Richard was already working on a buzz when this guy showed up!, that's my kind of dude!
Shmee- tea and “cheers”
Richard- beer and “Woooooooo”
So much fun and awesome cars.
What a classic Shmee 150/ Tim outing! Have been watching all of you guy's for years now and it was cool to come back to here!! Amazing content as always and look forward your next adventure across the pond!! Thanks Tim and Richard for showing us some amazing cars! Enjoy your beers! ;)
Oooh no wai!
I always loved watching Fast 'N Loud, Fired Up Garage & Aaron Kaufman's projects. Richard, what an icon & character! Woooooooo! xD
I miss that show. Not sure if there just haven't been any seasons shot or if I'm just not up to date! But looking forward to seeing that again!
Great to see this crossover! It somehow hits different when you see someone from a non-show environment interact with someone known from tv episodes!
Loving the US tour so far! Seems like you’re really enjoying the gt500 and meeting up with other creators
“I’m gonna mess it up” is giving me flashbacks to street speeds TRX
Was thinking the same thing....
Love Gas Monkey Garage, always made time to watch it and still do.
This dude is chill n down to earth af
The way he talks to the camera is so loose and cool. Just walking around with a cold one.
He has been doing that for more than 15 years now, so it's like lunch for him
Shmee gets to drive a american icon across the US. He's living the American dream and isn't even american lmao.
And we can't even go for a pint.
If you have money you can even drive in north Korea and syria
30 days to build a car... now that's fkn quick! shout out to the guys that making it possible! You guys are Legends!
Two of the of the most inspiring people, Shmee & Richard 💯
Imagine sitting in the Gas Monkey Garage and having a beer with Richard.
I would love the monkeys to monkey with my 95 Cobra. It's fun, it's nice, but these guys are over the top. Turn my stang into a serious street thumper!
He is not drinking at all.. opens a can for the looks but doesnt drink at all.
I'm 0.40 in and if I don't see Tim doing donuts outside the shop front I'm going to be disappointed 😂
Loved this video. I've been curious about Richard's collection for awhile. Thanks! 🙂👍
Having watched these guys for years this was so awesome
This is the last collab I was expecting but an awesome one none the less
Year later and when I saw this I was shocked but I clicked and watched the whole thing
Richard said “russian Tatra”? Did I heard it right? Because Tatra is Czech 😄
Gas monkey one of my favorite car repair shows actually. Something about it Richard dude seems like a good guy
Honestly would be awesome to get a tour like this personally from Richard. Whatever you may think of him, he loves cars and have an impressive sized pallet for all autos.
You know ur rich when you glance over a wraith like that
They will all be gone and sold in 4 to 5 years . No more T.V. show so no more free products for Rawlings . Gas Monkey as a company will feel the hit purchasing KTEC engines and Custom chassis . All the parts were trade for advertising on the show plus his salary and the employees salaries . When they toured the so-called mechanic end of the shop there was little to nothing going on .
Also keep in mind what the cars sold for on the Fast "N" Loud show were T.V. prices . No-one wants a car that is built in 30 days unless you want to drop another 30 to 40 grand into it in less than a year . Body work materials need time to cure . There is a process and a time associated with top quality paint finishes and when time is rushed the longevity of the bodywork and finish suffer !
Lol the first thing he does is disrespect Shmee twice.. class act.
Its called kidding around...you know...Humor?....wow, smh.
That's Richard.
He's just messing around, relax..
I've heard he was a real ahole. That's why he lost out on that bar and grill and the TV show. That's why I was thrilled when Aaron was building the DDE F12.
yeah, and Pierce Bronson lol.. whoever that is. Good show tho, i always liked Richard Dawkins :)
Wow I have been living in Dallas TX pretty much all my life and never got a chance to meet Mr Raelings or even been inside Fas Monkey garage. You definitely are moving up in the world. Keep up the good work mate!
Wow, saw the ad and HAD to watch this one. Fantastic video great to see Richards collection.
Geez, Rawlings is such a wallflower. Still waiting for Hoovie's dad's garage tour.
that wasn't his dad, It was a joke.
@@scottcol23 are you sure !
such a What??? I've never heard that one before lol
@@STREETRACEN4U usually that term means someone with an introverted personality type (or in more extreme cases, social anxiety) who will attend parties and social gatherings, but will usually distance themselves from the crowd and actively avoid being in the limelight.
Richard : "It's a FIERO !"
Shmee's mind : "What's a Fiero ?"
Richard is definitely a character and an American hot rodder from the modern era with a collection containing old school cars,as well. Great Collab.
So cool that you see all this car
Gas Monkey garage is the best car series on TV
"Endgame was the craziest crossover ever"
Tim :
Richard’s built quite the empire for a guy a guy that buy’s and flips cars and doesn’t ever pick up a wrench
Awesome mancave Mr Rawlings..shout out from Sydney Australia love your show too
Sweet thanks for the tour, two of my favorite CZcamsrs and car guys
Never saw this one coming!
Used to love this show when it aired (is it still airing?)
Shmee, you could of asked Richard to do a bunrout as a signoff.
Gas Monkey is the one of the favorite tv show for me, thank you Tim
That was really awesome seeing you with Richard from Gas Monkey
This is a crossover that can challenge the Avenger: Infinity War's one
Why does it feel like where ever shmee goes it looks like he is still in uk.
Great video for sure. Nice to see Richard is still going strong.
I love that giant Goodyear sign! That’s awesome!👍
How many beers has Richard had? 🤪
He definitely had more than 2
its hard to tell when you never stop drinking.
LITE beers......very sad.
Shmee, on these extended trips. How do you do laundry? Just use the hotel facilities?
We stop and use launderettes or if staying at a friend's house then do what we can as and when. This has been 2.5 months of living out of a suitcase already!
Man that's Shmee, he just buys new clothes every week🩲👔🤷♂️👖🩲
Shmee150 Merch😉👍
@@Shmee150 What's your favorite clothing brand? I've always wanted to replicate your style
@@darkproject3368 what style ?
Thanks for that Tim, Fast and Loud has always been one of my favourite programs.
Very welcome
Tim with Richard that is awsom. Love some cars they built over the years. Actually got gasmocky shirt on today
Shmee is so clueless this entire video. I also wish he would ask more questions about the cars instead of just giggling.
As someone wh only watches shmee during crossovers I fully disagree I almost forgot he was there this was exquisite
The contrast between Tim and Richard made me realize why everybody thinks Americans are brash. 😅
He was just having a little fun w/ Shmee. They’re fans of each other, sure he just wanted him to loosen up 🤷🏾♂️
@@Crispy1434 well he clearly failed
So so cool. Love gas monkey garage. Richards seems like a great guy.
Cool to look around gas monkey after watching the show for years
Did Richard say “Russian Tatra”? 🤔
worse.. Russian TETRA. That's when I thought for sure Tim was going to turn the camera off.
19 min y en ningún momento le da un trago a su cerveza, increíble!!!
Great to hear about the hellcat mule 😂 I dare say Richard has some great story's to tell from over the years 👏
I've never seen Richard's stuff. Shmee your the best man.
Think that's the first time I've seen Richard act human ......bring Aaron back and we will watch again...
Is this a sign Shmee is going on Rogan?
That would be awesome
I kind of wondered if he would come to Austin, but he probably cannot budget renting CoTA for a day. I think bottom line chartable fee is $25K.
Cool video .Wish Richard nothing but success as i have kept up with all his ups and downs and hope he keeps it all afloat.
Wow that purple and gold car at the end is one of the coolest cars I have ever seen. And my second favorite has to be that orange Firebird!! Great video Shmee!
Great vid but why did shmee when he said “cheers” at the end sound like a car trying to start up?! 🤣
It's his thing for yeeeeears :)
You can hear at his reactions that Shmee has no idea what Richard is talking about 90% of the time
That's what's amazing there are still hundreds of cool old cars sitting in garages and barns ready to be discovered. Somebody needs to dedicate a channel just to that.
This is one of the best videos you have made in the states. God Bless Texas
I would like to meet this mysterious „Pierce Bronson“. Sounds like a interesting guy to me!
Charlie Bronson's english cousin
He said it twice!! Killed me
When are you taking delivery of the black series ?
I don't actually know yet
This is an amazing collection! Thanks for sharing Shmee
It's so cool that you have the TransAm. No amount of money has greater value than great memories!
Tim's giggling like a schoolgirl 😂
Knew he would have a beer in his hand😂. U can see him trying not to swear
Beer is good but weed is better
The King T is gorgeous. Richard has real taste. Especially in classics👌🏼
That's cool , iv watching him from many years , from day one , rad guy , love all of his car build's
