@@welcome2myworld1.o89 I was about to ask that too
Thanks for doing this video!
Hello guys , George from Canada 🇨🇦. Please have crash tests of Porsche , Ferraries, Lamborghini, Rolls Royce , ect .
Safety is a topic less covered than most when it comes to trucks. Thanks for taking the time to highlight this important topic.
because typically in a truck you're ok the other cars probably not.
Because you usually don’t drive like crazy on the road in a truck and Truck usually crush other while themselves is not getting so much harm.
I’m not at all surprised by a Ram. Had an incident when I was much younger… that truck kept me alive.
I agree with Roman about the good headlights should be on all trim levels and not just on the top trim levels.
Ya but profit margins....
I don't want $2000 headlights on my pick up, that being said my 2011 f150 had exceptional headlights and my 2015 has the worst I've owned
I understand Roman's sentiments, but he is wrong to suggest safety items shouldn't be something we have to pay for. Everything on a truck has a cost associated with it. Therefore, we 'pay for' all the safety equipment.
@@DKWalser Did you pay extra for your seatbelts? Backup cameras used to be an extra cost option too until May 2018 when the US government got off their ass and made them mandatory on all vehicles.
@@jldude84 Sure. And, airbags used to be unavailable or expensive extra-cost options. What's your point? Every time government mandates some piece of safety equipment, or car makers decide to include it on their own, the cost of vehicles goes up. That's ALL I'm saying.
Look, I understand that Roman would like every car to come equipped with the best lights available. I'm sure every owner would agree. Yet, it's not as if today's lower-cost headlights are unsafe. They are dramatically better than the sealed beam lights they replaced. There is no free lunch here.
There have been times in my life when, if given a chance to choose between halogens and LED lighting, I'd have gone with the halogens -- not because I liked halogens better but because money was tight. I much prefer a system that allows consumers to choose than mandates that force everyone to pay for things they may not want nor need.
Just a friendly reminder that the #1 safety (or unsafe) feature in any vehicle sits in the driver's seat.
Exactly, I said it in another comment but it seems like every time vehicles get more safe, the people driving them get more dangerous.
That much is evident by the amount of people complaining about speed limits in my local area. "What do you mean this winding twisting road where you can't see hidden driveways or side streets around tight bends is only a 45? My truck can do 55-65 easily!"
Not really, you can cheat the Tesla auto pilot with a bottle of water while having no one sitting at the driver's seat.
@@AHungryHunky if the auto manufacturers would put a large spike, in the center of the steering wheel pointed at the drivers face, people would finally slow down and drive responsibly. I agree with you, the safer they make vehicles, the worse drivers will behave. (majority of drivers anyways)
@@dewboy13 the good ol safety or death approach, I like it
So you wanna abolish driving cars?
Keep in mind that the small overlap test wasn’t around when the Nissan Frontier came out. Neither was the internet…
Again, they did mention the Tundra and the Frontier being the oldest trucks on the list have the worst ratings. LUCKILY! Both have nice and much needed updates coming out soon. Looking forward to both and I'm sure with those updates, the safety ratings will jump as well.
I am living proof that the Tacoma is the safest. I got T boned in April. A lady ran a stop sign in an f150. Police report said she was going 60 plus when she hit me. I rolled 4 times landed upside down. Only skid marks were after impact. Tacoma SR 2019. I ordered a new Tacoma a month ago. They told me if I had been in any other vehicle I would have been killed. Tacoma love
Glad to hear you’re okay!
True, no other vehicle could POSSIBLY have protected the occupants that well lol ONLY Toyota knows how to make magic cars and trucks that make you invincible...
Wow..
@ken McDougle
Wow if I was in an accident like that, the skid marks wouldn’t be on the road... :-/
What about a tank? If you were in a tank you would have lived…. I don’t like Liars……
I absolutely only consider top-rated IIHS vehicles, especially in the small frontal overlap, since it's a good overall indicator of how safe a vehicle is, since it's so hard to pass, and really puts the vehicle's safety cage to the test. After a huge accident that I shouldn't have walked away from, I use the IIHS before each purchase, which cuts down the number of vehicles I consider, but after the crash, I just can't gamble on something that isn't as safe as I can possibly purchase. Thanks for sharing!
Who asked
I don't have many fears but car accidents is one of them because I've *nearly* been in them countless times. So many near-misses and even one person backing out of a parking lot without looking in her mirrors first and slamming into my mother's sedan, injuring her knee and breaking her door. And that was just a low-speed accident that was really just a minor bump, not like a high-speed collision. I'll never forget things like that and I know car accidents is a leading cause of death so a safe vehicle for me is a must! I won't buy something with poor ratings no matter how appealing it is.
I was in a near head on on an icy road doing 45 MPH at impact, it was a T-bone at the last moment, and mostly on the passenger side. It was in a 2014 F150, the cab remained 100% intact, no intrusion, and the doors all still opened and closed. I was injured from of all things the seatbelt, it pulled me back so fast and hard it separated some ribs from the sternum, and still hurts 5 years later. Not my first frontal crash either, before that was a Ford Flex, 45MPH in a sudden whiteout into a white car that was dead in the middle of the road. Walked away uninjured, both me and my wife. Been a die hard Ford fan since, but the new Ram passing like it does adds a potential future truck to my list!
The headlight ratings on trucks has more to do with blinding oncoming traffic than light output.
Yeah. I seem to get bright lighted a lot even though my lights are on dim. (2019 silverado).
I wonder when trucks are going to start following the headlight trend that's caught on with SUVs since the Cherokee did it, that being having the headlights mounted at almost bumper level with some daytimes and turn signals mounted where the headlight typically is.
It's a smart layout since it allows your headlights to cast further while staying out of the eyes of oncoming traffic.
@@AHungryHunky that would be an interesting design to see on a truck.
@@MC4D. honestly the Silverados could probably pull it off on a mid cycle refresh and no one would notice, I think the F150 might be able to do it as well without changing their headlight design to much. All these new trucks have massive headlight housings for little lights so their front ends don't look disproportionate with their massive bumpers and grills, you could just move the location of the lamps within the housing and keep the designs mostly the same.
They just care about uploading long videos with a lot of wrong informations
I love my 21 ram after driving it all the way to NC and back it was super quiet and comfortable
Headlights are something that can be easily upgraded, But as you said , the manufacturers should just put the best headlights in all trim levels for as much as trucks cost.
Great video guys , I like Roman being clear about things and not try to hide it about truck brands . Both great job . New subscriber !
The whole headlight conversion is something I talk about all the time. I believe that higher trim level vehicles should share the same headlights as lower level. I believe there is a big difference is lumens between the trim levels. Just for safety stand point all levels should have the best of the best headlight and brake light. We shouldn’t have to pay more for safety
Yes 97% of the new headlights on all the trucks and SUV’s already blind the crap out of anyone in a regular car. Yes they need to be brighter yet so others can get permanent retina burn! 👀👁👁😎
Most likely those are aftermarket lights that people install themselves. A lot of people buy LED bulbs and put them in a non projector housing which makes the light not have a clean cutoff line and can blind others. My truck came standard with LED headlights and are very bright, yet I've never been flashed by oncoming traffic.
Yeah, I've noticed that the newish F-150's are terrible. Way too bright.
@@XploreAz This, plus all the people who level or lift their SUVs and trucks and don't bother to adjust the lights
@@averyw.3939 exactly.
Just tonight i went and got a burger and some jeep was riding my ass with lights as bright as the sun. i ended up waiting at a stop sign for a long line of vehicles approaching then darted across turning as i did so, took around two blocks for the road to clear and the douche to turn in behind me, i was nearly home so he never caught up to me again, i've done this a couple times, i just don't get needing lights this damn bright.
I'd like to see all these with a ranch hand bumper.
Nice to see the Titan on the top of the list. The LED headlights are hight adjustable and great at night. Feel bad for those Walmart Sylvania lights on the Chevy custom trail boss 😂.
Sylvania is a name brand. I bet they make them led for Nissan.
So it's on "top" but below the ram?
Tundras are adjustable as well.
@@daniels2761 yeah they are the only two I believe that have that feature.👍🏼
@@stevenbittner6081 yes your correct, but as soon as Fords test come out ram will be in second and Titan in third.
Who said halogens were not safe ? Just because you have have leds with a 6000k color range means nothing and in snowy conditions you want halogens not white light.
Halogen? Wym? Why can’t 4,000-5000k LEDs not be used?
@@TheNuclearBolton No heat to melt the frost covered headlights
@@ernestoandre82 I guess that’s why some modern cars have mini windshield wipers or sprayers for the headlights 😂 I never thought of that
@@TheNuclearBolton lots of plow lighting has it too, clever little trick.
Ask any driver living in area's where it snow's, LED lights DON'T keep ICE and SNOW from Freezing on the headlights.
Excellent information! I never paid too much attention to headlights but now I will .
Still chose a new Ranger! It is all around great. Thanks TFL!
Not gonna lie if I had to buy a new truck it'd probably be either a Ram 1500 or a Ranger. I don't want to pay the massive Tacoma markups and so I'd rather get either more truck for the same price or the same amount of truck for way less
Just started the video and got the Manscaped promo ad. Props to getting that ad completed without busting out laughing....at least on the recorded version, lol.
This video was worth watching for that alone!!!
Double thumbs up 👍👍. Been waiting for something like this...
I have recently purchased Honda Ridgeline RTLE 21 and it’s one of the best midsize truck in the market.. before I buy any truck I have done my homework for 3 months searching for right truck test drove every midsize truck in the market but nothing comes close to Honda safety n features..also best in safety and cheapest insurance Quote I got for it when I asked my insurance company I was planning to buy Ford ranger 21 or jeep gladiator.. thanks god I made the right decision buying Ridgeline tons of features n I’m pretty satisfied with it..
Let us know after you hit your first bridge abutment!! 😂😂😂
Ridgeline is not a truck so…
Congratulations, you bought a minivan with an open cargo area.
I updated my Ram express headlights from the reflector to the projector after market and it’s a huge difference, plus I now have DLR
In my opinion I think that the headlight issue can be overcome by installing aftermarket bulbs or just buy the better headlamps from oem, install them yourself and keep the old ones in case you end up selling it. What can’t be changed is how the body and frame are engineered along with airbag count.
Very informational video. Good jobs guys!
I know my 2016 Sierra did well to protect me against a head on, dead center collision with a 300lb black bear at 70MPH! Totaled the truck but I walked away with only a cut eye and a couple bruises. Bear? Much worse!lol! All the airbags blew as I went from 70 to about 10 in an instant. It WAS like hitting a wall!
That always sucks. My cousin hit a 1200lb moose with a 2000lb Subaru and got all sorts of hurt, he's all good after but he went and bought a Tundra so he has a bit more weight to punch back with if it ever happens again.
Damn i hit a deer at 75 mph with a 2006 Explorer, i slammed on brakes caused a skid hit it on impact deployed the bags i walked away without a scratch but my mother was taken to the hospital due to the dust powder of the passenger bag got in her nose but wasn't hurt either. Thankfully my windows was down and that buck punctured the radiator causing a leak so it got to be towed and it was totaled and replaced by a 2008 Expedition.
Really interesting the top 3 mid-sizers essentially differed only due to headlight tech and pedestrian safety tech. I wonder if the Ridgeline might have ranked better with it's pedestrian detection system being tested.
Additionally, it lists the vehicle to vehicle crash avoidance tech being optional. That is now standard on all trims of 2021 Ridgelines.
Last, notice the Ridgeline is listed as a Large Truck by IIHS. Wonder if that is due to dimensions or passenger compartment volume?
Very interesting…but makes sense
On 5/1/21 I was hit by a tundra in my 2020 Ram 2500 head on/ but slightly broadside drivers side when I swerved.
The tundra was completely destroyed and the driver had to be cut out. The truck was unrecognizable.
My Ram, while pretty jacked up as well (new frame), took a pretty good lick. However, the internal structure was relatively untouched while the outer shell took the brunt of the impact.
My daughter nor I had any injuries other than being a bit sore and bruised up.
I was also curious to see the 2021 F-150 since that’s what I have been driving for last 90 days as a rental. Hopefully I don’t find out before you guys do !
You are right Roman about safety features like headlights at least optional to keep truck cheap. There is one thing I worry about off set crashes is some of trucks might be safe for occupants but I see opposite headlight becoming detached n flying off which might cause another accident or hurting bystanders, do you think truck companies need explain why this happens?
There didn’t appear to be any resistance whatsoever, I’m wondering whether the test centre removed it for some reason (installing deceleration gauge instruments or for bench headlight measurement testing) then perhaps forgot to fix it back in?
Great job on the information on the trucks
Great video. Thank you for doing this. I never see truck safety ratings.
I agree with the headlights needing to be upgraded on every truck . I have a hard time believing it will happen anytime soon
I fully support Roman's comment about safety features being necessary at all trim levels. Automation, performance, and luxury items should be optional, not safety.
Love some good crash test footage!
Great topic! Great summary!
Headlights need to be a balance of good visibility for the driver, but not too bright as to blind oncoming drivers. LED headlights are great when you're the one behind them, but too bright for the oncoming cars.
There is no problem blinding oncoming traffic with headlights if they are manufactured the right way. If GM or Ford would spend 15 bucks on headlights instead of 15 cent truck customers would have good headlight that doesn't blind oncoming traffic.
I like these videos TFL!
I have the new Honda Ridgeline in the Black Edition, so far I absolutely love the headlights, but they are the top end version. I have to say the safety features so far have already saved me from an accident when someone pulled in front of me while I was daydreaming and damn if that auto braking feature didn't kick in fast, I was at a close stand still before my foot ever found the brake.
I'm so glad they are doing headlight testing now from both the driver and opposing driver perspective. This is HUGE. It has been a problem for so long (and continues to be) in those older vehicles. DOT regulations are ridiculous and need to be updated and if manufactures can start dictating what is a good headlight setup, i.e. not causing much or any glare to other drivers while still providing excellent distance and width with minimal but necessary foreground lighting for the driver then we will get better safety all around. To this day I still get blinded by stock/OEM headlights on older trucks and some newer trucks but have noticed an improvement on the new trucks, especially on the RAM. Honestly high quality headlamps should be the standard on ALL vehicles, always. You shouldn't have to be more for better safety, but if maybe different headlamp visual designs.... as long as they perform the same.
Nice hat Tommy! Great job as always. Come back and visit us in South Dakota again!
Had an accident in my Ram 1500 very similar to the off-center head-on test shown here. Air bags didn't go off and I was pinned in the truck for 45 minutes. Needless to say, I didn't replace it with another Ram. Went with the F-150.
Right
I own a 2020 Ram 1500 Bighorn with the standard headlights and I have no issues with them. I certainly can see very well at night.
Get behind a ram with the led lighting package and it basically becomes day time.
The base lights suck, but you have no better point of reference like someone who spends time in a room lit by a 75W bulb. Thats what you know and have adjusted to, but as soon as you go outside (or in this case upgrade to better tech) you realize it was way too dark.
I 100% agree with the statement about, why are they giving all the safety features to the more expensive trims. Why not just give all trims the safety features. We all are on the road just trying to be safe.
This is a fun series! Please do others.
That's what happens when you keep the correct head lights for the upper trim levels, manufacturers trying to nickle and dime buyers, nuff said
Jimmy f ilove my 2021 ram limited the air ride is great vacationed in Florida from Michigan awsome truck .gas mileage got 22.4 .how did you do ?
Great job on the videos guys! Keep em comin! The Honda ridgeline is not a truck, it's not built like one. Its a car with a bed like the ford ranchero.
i am a big fan of the channel(s) and appreciate you guys always finding areas other reviewers don't cover and talk about them. i noticed the lack of proper headlight testing anywhere. i think they are more important than lane departure and blind spot alerts. i have not been in any accidents or fender benders (touch wood) since i modified my headlights with projectors for distance and consideration for other road users. now i am not saying everyone should do that but i know the difference it makes first hand.
manufacturers now are dazzling consumers eyes with led. led this and led that. it's a buzzword to say the least. i really hope the good folk at TFL be the differentiator here. one thing i have noticed and do not know if you guys have noticed it too is led headlight in reflectors from the factory. it's becoming the new replacement for halogen reflectors as a base low cost option for manufacturers. but because people are enamored with the buzzword led they can sell them as upmarket options in some situations. for example the new jeep grand Cherokee has them and the outgoing models had bi-LED or bi-Xenon projectors i believe. this is a definite downgrade in distance lighting on low and high beam. you guys can test it and verify what i am saying. reflectors typically illuminate nearer distances better and projectors typically illuminate further distances better. a reflector is more efficient because the projector with the extra optics and cutoff shields wastes some light. but it is extremely hard to design and reliably produce a reflector that can give you enough focused light for good distance illumination and be better than an average projector.
as a rule of thumb halogen, LED and HID will perform better in distance lighting when equipped by the OEM in projectors instead of reflectors. there are some exceptions however like most of what hyundai and kia are doing, typically all options offered by them lack good distance illumination.
i really hope you consider my words and come up with something brilliant like you did with the roller test for example to score headlights based on near lighting, width lighting and distance lighting (the most important of them all).
Small overlap crashes are the rarest crashes you will ever have, I spent 25 years as a LEO and 13 of them in traffic homicide and in all those years I can count on one hand the number of small overlap crashes I saw.
One of the first things I did to my 2021 ZR2 is put LEDs in. Huge gain for me at night. I live in Maine, and lots of deer like to make test my brakes. Alot.....
Stupid deer.
What about the heavy duty trucks? Good info.
Like with EPA fuel economy numbers they aren't being tested apparently.
I wonder how the Ford maverick will do when it comes out
Definitely the Ram 1500 Limited, with it’s turning headlights, lane departure, and the rest of the safety gear. Got my wife one and she loves it… Safest vehicle I could find her, crew cab truck wise. Of course there’s the HEMI Tax. Our trip to Florida averaged 13.9 mpg. Ouch…
More safety content pls. I'd like to see some tfl car about this
You can get the LED headlights in the big horn. Not their cheapest trim, but mid level at the least.
One of the things they test for is how much the headlights blind oncoming traffic.. Some of the newer trucks coming out have headlights that will easily blind someone oncoming in a regular sedan.. That might be part of the reason for the lower scores. It may not be that they are dim lights, but maybe they are poorly aimed and blind other drivers.
Honda Ridgeline is the safest in my thinking.
(watching the Manscape ad)
Edit: yay the Tacoma is the Safest. I’m really wanting a Tacoma. How is the Access cab as they tested the Crew Cab.
I can’t wait to see the results for the 2021 F-150, about two months ago I bought a 2021 F-150 Platinum and I’m absolutely in love with it.
Me too. I’ve had mine for about 7 weeks. Absolutely love it!
I have a 2014 f250 platinum I live it I wish I could afford a new f150 those are on another level of features luxury and looks
I have a Titan and wonder how they test lights. They are auto adjustable and the high beams are like turning on the sun. They are really good head lights 🤷
That's what I thought. Those new less look amazing
Man the bed deflection on the Tacoma was nuts. Glad it’s safe though.
Regarding the headlight ratings, I'd really like to see the criteria they use to evaluate vehicle headlights. I would hope they don't rate them on how brightly the lights project from the viewpoint of the driver, without considering oncoming traffic ability to see.
I live out in the sticks and it's literally torture facing the headlights of some of the new vehicle's, so I'd be really interested in seeing their spec's on how they rate them.
Especially the f150
best trick of all time? create a headlamp that illuminates your path with out blinding oncoming traffic.
I did that to a 95 f150 yesterday accept it was 2 pine trees and I was going way faster, not wearing a seat belt. But I'm still here so 10/10.
As long as dodge has corrected the engine oil starvation problem and has gone back to the old push rod design THEN then its worth a good rating as the 3rd gen hemi was notorious for cam lobe wear due to a flaw design where the roller follower would be starved of oil if the engine was at idle for long periods of time and the lobes on the cam would flatten out
In truth, ALL these pickups have very good safety. Partial offset crashes are very hard & new to mitigate for. Safety wise, I'd buy any of these trucks, but think twice about the lowest 2.
Thanks for your expert opinion. It has changed my entire thought process on this whole concept.
Offset crashes are not new, they’ve been done for many years.
You’re show is the reason I purchased my Ram built to serve and thank goodness it’s the safest.
these test are performed with the safety features (emergency braking) off but these test have been used to make improvements however they only tell half the story. crashing a heavier vehicle (think semi) to lighter will still be more to the survival rates. head to head test would need to be perform for the most deadliest crashes.
I have a 21 ram was not the highest trim but I was sure to only buy one with the led option. So to say all trucks should have them sure but in the case of ram you can get them as a option.
The headlights in my Canyon were pretty poor, the reason why I decided to go with an LED H13 replacement, from a quality brand. They may have been $150 for the pair but well worth the investment
Same for my F-150. GTR Lighting CSP minis for ~$130 a pair and the best $130 I ever spent upgrading from those shit halogens.
@@jldude84 I put xenondepot, but I got a pair of new Morimoto 2 Strokes 3.0 for my snowmobile, and those things are so bad ass, I considered getting a pair for my truck as well. If someone asks me what to get those will be my top recommendations.
@@gtileo I actually have videos on my channel of the GTR CSP minis I put in my F-150.
Night and day difference from the shit OEM halogens. I've heard the 2 Strokes are pretty damn good too though. As well as the Supernovas.
I Think some of the headlight issue, is where they are on the nose of the truck. If the light cannot physically shine down to the road in front, it defeats the whole purpose of headlights, in my opinion. Also using red Turn light blinkers in the brake light, does not give enough visual difference. If use amber or a color that would be more visible during high sun reflection off the tail end of vh, would be much safer, also in my opinion.
Delighted that my Ram not only was rated best, but also that it has the best interior and is the most comfortable! According to the March 2021 Consumer Reports it also has by far the most loyal owner's rating!
What about the Jeep Gladiator? I know that it fits in with the midsize market. I didn’t hear any mention of how it did on any of the testing by any of the testing places?
The 20k Ford Maverick has LED headlights standard on all trims. I am expecting all other trucks to follow suit.
Heck so does the Ford Bronco.
LEDs can be dirt cheap and be barely any better than halogens if they're designed to be cheap like they are for a $20k vehicle that checks so many boxes.
What is notable is the number of trucks that score well for the driver side offst crash but poorly for the passenger side offset. This is a relic from the days when they only tested the driver side for crashworthiness so the truck manufacturers cynically made the passenger side less well able to protect any passengers. Hopefully this will change soon.
I'm going to assume the ¾ and 1 ton trucks are different. Are you going to put a video out on the big trucks?
Most low offset collisions don't involve an immoveable barrier. When you are in a collision with another vehicle most of the impact of the crash is going to be absorbed by the smaller vehicle. So don't mess with tri-axle dump trucks.
Can we get an update with the Gladiator and Frontier, when ready?
Well said about every level of vehicle should have every safety feature, not just higher priced models
Back in the early and late 90's the top trim cars had the side air bags, ABS, etc, base trims didn't get the Side air bags or ABS, etc... a common practice is to give the top trims the best safety. In a few years, even the base trims will have good headlights, as the pattern has proven over and over.
Everyone, drive safe out there whatever u drive. 🤙🏻
Last time I checked on IHTSA website, my truck (year model) had not a single fatality in over ten years. Long live GMC!

im kinda sad for my 21 custom trail boss but i still love the truck:P
Lol enjoy paying on your note
I am not surprised by the Tacoma. Although I am surprised to see the Tundra as the worst. GO RAM!!!!!
Ram is WAY better
Oh yeah!
My 2019 F150 low beams are not good, high beams are nice. I'm wondering if switching out bulbs would make a difference.
The most expensive Rams have a different front end and different headlights as opposed to the lesser truck. Also they off the LED lighting package which isn’t terribly expensive but worth it. The high beams are the brightest I’ve ever seen in a factory vehicle.
My laramie has the base led headlights and they are extremely bright compared to the ones in my 2007 and 2014 ram. The headlights in those sucked compared to these new trucks.
Brighter headlights, good for sure but what percentage of accidents involve hitting an unlit object after dark? Don’t drive faster than conditions allow.
I 100% agree. Is it really a shock that if you can afford all the bells and whistles, you get more safety? Much like everyday life, healthy food, medicine and doctors. I you can afford you get it

Do this review with the older trucks please
It would be good see crash test results with bullbars fitted.
Worth noting that Tundra Crew Max is the safest full size if you look at fatality rates also provided on iihs website……so interesting how in the lab it fails but in real world data it excels.
It's cause in a lab the test is fair. In the real world toyota drivers are usually driving slower only loaded with groceries. American truck brand drivers are typically driving faster with a truck loaded down with tools and trailers. A truck with heavy loads turns to missiles in crashes look at all the stuff fords are loaded down with in the real world they get sandwiched between a tractor on the trailer there pulling and whatever they hit.
I wish they safety rated vehicles based solely on crash tests and headlights. Accident avoidance tech CAN help, but hasn't yet replaced good driving technique and just paying attention. It also doesn't work in bad weather (when your more likely to have an accident) and it has to be turned on. I want to know if I DO hit something what am I and my kids most likely to survive in.
Great video. Very disappointed with the headlight ratings.
I think the headlights on my 2020 silverado are great.
My 2016 Silverado factory LED headlights are also great.

I guarantee your Ram won't last over 200k miles before the engine breaks down.
Dodge trucks are the worst, least reliable and gas guzzler trucks. Just trade that junk in for a TUNDRA TRD PRO. You'll thank me later.
Really good Headlights should be standard on all trucks and cars
For the Tacoma being the "safest" mid size truck, it looked more damaged
its about saving lives and not being injured!
well thats kinda the point. the truck absorbs all the damage, instead of passing it onto the passengers.
The GM's looked like a sat on hunk of hot cheese.
😆 looked like it would get hit again from on coming traffic. At least the chevy stayed put
Having my brother t-boned on the highway going 70+MPH and having flipped and rolled his Tacoma 10 times in that accident.. I can attest to the safety and lack of damage done in a bad crash. Was his truck totaled? Yep, looked like a crumpled can. But no bodily damage. The vehicles aren't designed to necessary "survive" in these tests. They're designed to ensure that in the most severe possible crashes, that the passengers come out with the least injuries possible. Insurance is what we've got to cover the replacement of the vehicle that will inevitably not survive. Because none of these vehicles avoided being considered "totaled." So that's kind of an irrelevant consideration here.
I was surprised that the full size Dodge trucks did so well in the tests, but that is good and they are selling really well around the country.
They used to be horrible. I had a 2006 i bought new and it was a giant POS. I'm glad they made them safer!
@@AnyManProjects According to one online machanic the Dodges are the worst vehicles and got worst after Diamler sold their share to Fiat.
I just became one of those 2 million recently. 😉 Only problem is, the truck didn't come with the protection group, which is tow hooks and skid plates. Anyone got any suggestions how or where i can get some besides the dealership?
Search specifically, aftermarket tow hooks or aftermarket skid plates and the model of your truck. At that point,,,,,, shop!! Haha
I am so glad i sell ram trucks. Top safety and 3 year in a row number 1 truck. Go RAM.
Probably helps safety ratings when they are broke down and can't be driven for several weeks a year ;)
