Hi jarrett, have you talked about glow in the dark vinyl yet? I think it would make for a fantastic video idea!
I noticed that all the turntables you recommend are 2 speeds, but on the suitcase turntables you don't like are a 3 speed. Can you elaborate on that please?
@QuadRaSphere Records and Radio thank you for the info. I just noticed on the Crosley players they have 33, 45, and 78 rpm so was just curious thank you again
Personally, I would not recommend the LP 60X or LP3. The Sony ps lx 310 BT is the same price as the LP3 and runs circles around it. Elegant looking, and incredibly high fidelity even at low volumes. The LP 60X is a kiddie player, more comparable to the Crosley T400 than anything else.
@@efandmk3382 I was looking at the audio technica lp120, I don't want to deal with the belt turn table as a 1st time turntable buyer and I do t know how to adjust the speeds on it and thi gs like that.
My first record player was the Teac TN100. I found it very good for its price point. I bought it as a player to see if I would enjoy listening to records, I fell in love with it. I sold it and opted for an Onkyo 1050, never looked back. The Teac was a nice way to introduce me to vinyl
So glad you posted! It got to the point I started checking up on your channel daily😅
I am so happy I found your channel when I did. I was able to get an Audio Technica LP60 to replace my victrola all in one. Had I not found your channel I’m pretty sure all of my records would be dead, or sound progressively worse. I started collecting last year and started with a suitcase player. Vinyl is definitely an amazing experience with the good equipment.
yeah my current record player fucked up my quiet riot record and i think my janis joplin record
great to see another upload from you!
Hey jarrett just want to say great video I remember watching one of your older videos about this topic and it’s what inspired me to upgrade my turntable from a Crosley voyager to an audio technica LP 60. And a song I recommend is counting stars by Nujabes
I like your channel. It's completely useful for vinyl beginners!!
5 years since I got that Audio Technical LP-120, and I still really like it! Glad I didn’t get a Crosley.
@HankForeman Yay I’m glad you went with Audio Technica instead of Crosley or Victrola or any of the suitcase or all in one record players
Back in the day I had a Dual 510 belt drive. Loved it! Great turntable.
Hey Jarrett! I just wanted to say that I really enjoy your videos. They help me out a ton and I appreciate the time you take to make them. Thank you!
Thank you for watching!
Really neat video! Just got into vinyls two weeks ago and hopefully will get the lp60xbt! Nice to have a bluetooth alternative when you need it. Bit of both worlds :)
@Eternalz Yay I’m glad you got an Audio Technica Lp60xbt that’s what I’ll be getting soon I’m gonna order one when I get paid in another two weeks
I bought a vintage Dual 1019 and send it of to a Dual specialist. After a month it came back and is fully serviced now. It's a great turntable in terms of sound, functionality and looks. Total costs around €250 It's sure worth to look for vintage quality!
Great video as always brother.
Great list Jarrett! I went with a U-Turn Custom simply because I wanted to use a Grado Black3 cartridge. I left the rest stock except for adding what it should come with to begin with, a cue lever...still don't understand why that's an option, but it is what it is. Great turntable besides that though.
I've got myself an at lp 60x but had no more money left for some speakers and an Amp so i pulled out the old jvc home Theater reciever with some speakers and a subwoofer and it works fine👍
Great video! I still like my Audio Technica AT- LP 120, Recommended by you in the past ☺️
I have a Vestax BDT-2500 purchased new many years ago. It’s a great turntable for me that provides the preamp and the other accessories you mentioned. It also plays my 78rpm records, of which I have a nice little collection. An option not commonly found these days.
Getting the Fluance RT-81 soon as my first record player, I think it looks awesome!
It's a great turntable!
I got an LP60X back in January, and I couldn't be happier.
Hey Jarret I’m gonna soon be getting the Audio Technica Lp60xbt because I love the fact that it’s Bluetooth and wireless so you need less wires
Bluetooth turns ALL audio signals into mp3! You might as well stick with streaming, because you'll get the same sound in that method! To have true hi resolution analog or digital, you can't cheat, ya gotta have wires! With wires you get pure "unbroken" signal!
@@analoguecity3454 yeah well I love the idea of having to pair a Bluetooth speaker with a wireless turntable so I’m going for it
Yeah, that would be a strong recommendation from Jarrett. I have it, lovely turntable for the money, and bluetooth is a very useful bonus. I bet it's probably sold more since it's release in 2019 than any other player.
@@lauracorbett4577 And I can tell you something Laura, the bluetooth audio quality is excellent and makes it a hugely useful player.
You'll lose all that quality through Bluetooth unless it uses ldac
Don’t think I’ve ever seen Jarrett mention it but I really like the Sony turntables. I bought one and I love it so far! I think it’s an excellent place to get started in vinyl.
You are great and help a lot, I’m asking for a record player and watching your tips to prepare. You have taught me what to buy and what not, how to clean and take care of your records. But I am going to say these record players don’t have go under $100 which is not affordable to some people. I get the cheap ones are good quality but still maybe consider looking at some cheaper to talk about in a video! Have a good day/night to everyone!
Hey Jarret My Audio Technica LP60XBT white came in the mail today I’m so happy
I have the AT-LP60X. I love it.
Hey Jarret, nice video as always!! It would be good to know how the turntables allow to switch from 33 to 45 rpm. Some require to lift the platter and change the position of the belt, others are just fine with a button. For some this might be a relevant information to pull their trigger ;) have a great day
Over here in England we don't get the U-Turn Orbit. The Rega Planar turntables used to have the same system where you have to manually move the belt. I think it's because It was seen as better for the overall sound to have less mechanical things on the machine. They've got rid of the manual speed change now.
Yesterday I got my lp60xbt and I just live it
Its so quiet
Is automatic
Have a dust cover
The sound is AMAZING
And it’s so beautiful
I have the LP60x, but just got a upgraded LP120XBT. I love both of them
A quality upgrade! 👍
Song of the day: Madness - In the City
By the way, thank you for making all these videos, as these helped me out a ton on knowing how to properly handle, store and use Vinyl records in general. Keep up the good work!
Hey Jarrett, great video as always! Looks like I’ve got a similar model to the one on your list. Not sure about the difference between Audio Technica’s LP3 and my LP2X. The LP2X sounds great, even on headphones. The only thing that bothers me is the so called “inner groove distortion”, which occurs on pretty much all of my vinyl. The only record that sounds spectacular and isn’t distorted towards the middle of the record is Fleetwood Mac’s Say You Will (a new pressing). I’m wondering if you’ve ever touched on that subject and if there is anything I can do to make it distort less…
Have you ever done a video on how to manually change/skip a song on a manual turntable? Some albums have too many fillers & knowing how to safely/correctly skip to a different song would be helpful, cheers
Jarret, you forgot the Crosley Cruiser! ;-)
😂😂
It would be interesting to compare the portable turntables.
@@bngr_bngr Generally speaking, portable players are not good. A turntable ideally should be set up and made perfectly level and adjusted in a fixed position, and then not moved around. But there could be circumstances when a portable player is needed, then some are better than others. 'Back in the day', the Garrard SP25 Mk.IV was a reasonable compromise and could be used in a portable unit. I don't know if anyone makes a quality portable these days, though.
@@Timothycan what would be a good brand?
@@ixelbonobonoyap5796 For a vintage turntable, the German company Dual made some good turntables. I have a Dual 604 direct drive one from around 1980. Still going well after more than 40 years and a lot of use.
My first record player was an old gramo - radio called " Sonáta " in slovak. It was from 1965. It had two needles, one for vynil and one for schellack. Then, i got an even older record player from maybe 1960. It is a Czechoslovak record player. They are very good and with good sound quality wich seems weird at the first glance. I like these old record players. My collection has old Czechoslovak schellack and 45 vynil records. Also 2 33 rpm records.
I’ve had the LP3 for almost 2 years and it’s really good for what it is!
Would like to recommend Karma Chameleon by Culture Club for song of the day
I just started my collection and got the at-lp60x instead of one of the all-in-one players, your videos have been awesome while getting my vinyl collection started!
I’m gonna order the Audio Technica Lp60xbt with the white front from Amazon soon
I recently had to replace my old turntable, I ended up going with a Audio Technicia LPW30TK I’m happy with it. Plan on replacing with an upgraded cartridge when the time comes.
Hello Jarret, your English is very clear! I am a brasilian man and I speak Portuguese, my fluence in English is not so good, but when you speak I can understand every word! Congratulations for your channel! I love vinyl too. I love record changers, world you recomend any tape or model?
I use the Fluance rt85 it came with a bundle pack w/preamp and 2 speakers.
Got recently Audio-Technica AT-LPW50PB - perfect for it's price
Hi, Jarret, glad to see you're back. Love your videos. Not too keen on your U-Turn Orbit though. I don't like the fact that you have to manually change the speed and the fact that it doesn't have a cuing device. I also don't like the fact that it doesn't have a detachable headshell, so if you want to upgrade the cartridge you have to unscrew and manually realign the new cartridge. Also, does it have anti skate? I can't see it. If I were in the market for a new turntable it would be the Audio Technica ATLP120X. This has the flexibility I like. Have you still got yours?
Hey Jarret, so I’ve been watching you for awhile now and I’d like to say thank you for how much you’ve helped me on my vinyl journey. I am slowly but surely making my way up the ranks of being a vinyl master, though I do have one question; I’ve been looking at the LP120X as my next turntable (as currently I have a Victrola🤢) is this good for an upgrade? I know you used to own this turntable and praised it but now it seems you’ve forgotten about it. Is this the best upgrade I could purchase or is there better out there? Thanks Jarret👌
I have the 120X USB and its been flawless...by and far the best money I have spent on record playing equipment in a long time. I can't say enough good things about it..best of all it didn't break the bank:-)
I purchased mine about 4 months ago and must say it's really worth the money i had the Sony ps-lx300usb and it would skip on daft punk's homework and also struggle to play quiet parts like it would just be silence then a bit of sound....this removed all that only thing I will say is the anti skate is a nightmare to get your head around I have mine set to about 1 at 2g but other than that worthy purchase and the usb recording sounds great with audacity use clickrepair to remove clicks for clean recordings :D
I have the Audiotechnica LP60X, is a great basic turntable, great sound, my other basic turntable (Sony PS-LX56) also has great sound, i don't need more
Hey Jarret can you do a video talking about the Audio Technica Lp60xbt
more regular uploads please !
Can you make a video on most affordable speakers?
+1
I just bought an Audio Technic AP-LP 120XUSB and think it is a great one to own. I have on order a MoFi Geo-Disc so I can really dial in the cartridge alignment.
Nice! 😄 love the 120XUSB too!
@@vinyleyezz I had a feeling you might
Hey Jarret! I have a huge question for you. I own a Victrola Journey vinyl record player, will it destroy my favorite eateot stage 3 record? Btw your videos are spot on!!
I bought a very cheap entry turn table. But i might upgrade to that pretty u table. “To me” by alina baraz such a good song to listen on vinyl
Nice, i would love to upgrade to the medium range Audio Technica, but for now i love my atlp60xbt. Thinking of buying the edifier r1280t - speakers. But so far, been using Bluetooth
How does the audio sound? I’m getting a turntable but the issue is the turntable plus the records are a lot of money so I don’t have the money to get a amplifier so I’m kinda stuck to Bluetooth.
@@bradypoole781 it works like a dream with Bluetooth, or you can invest later into powdered speakers, i did, but i have been using mine with Bluetooth, i could not detected any issues. Easy to pair, even with a older Bluetooth speaker. ❤️
I noticed you are not making a lot of videos anymore. Still like them though. Consider making one about vintage players if you haven't done so yet. Since I bought a mint state Technics SL 1200 I am not considering new models of any brand, its simply great in both sound and looks. So I can focus on which records to buy. However there's other great classics out there that are worth considering when looking for a great player instead of new. Cheers Jarret.
I have number 5 it’s outstanding been having it for a few years now
I have a question,
Is it better to buy a good condition, 2nd hand, vintage turntable, needle needs to be changed (Panasonic or Technics) or buy a brand new one instead from this recommendation. Thank you so much :)
Hello, it's my first truntable. New to the game!
I was looking to buy the fluance rt81 build in preamp with active speakers.
With that i am good to go if i understand correctly, yes?
And if i buy the rt83 instead (no build in pream), still with active speakers, do i need also a phono preamp to go with that setup or no?
Thank you very much 🙌
I have both an Audio Technica and a U-turn.. love them both but TBH the U-Turns belts are not the best and forget it if you want to listen to any 7". You have to manually move the belt up and down which takes me a stupid amount of time. And if I am being honest likely causes my belt stretching. But I will admit it that it's pretty and sounds great even with the built in pre amp.
what would your recommend more the LP3 or the 120x?
My daughter received a couple records as gifts ( Olivia Rodrigo and Taylor Swift) what record player would you recommend for these newer vinyls?
Hey do you have any opinions about the Music Hall turntables?
Honestly i wouldve added a Lenco LS300 BT onto here, decent quality with a AT needle too
Can you do a video on mini 3” records?
any recommendations for cleaning the dust cover?
What do people think of the Marley stir it up record player? Debating getting one over the LP-60X as it has more features but don't seen many proper reviews on CZcams, especially from any noteworthy vinyl channels.
I like my fluance rt85 alot
Love mine too! Great turntable 👍
I’m pretty for the fluance RT80 you need a separate amplifier? I have one already but just making sure
Hey! Jarret what’s your opinion on the Victoria VPRO-2000 ? i just picked it up for 130 bucks on amazon because it seemed it had every troubleshoot option to help with misplaying audio.
New here! Do you need speakers? Or would any of these work good without ? 😅

What are the best cheap turntables that spin at 78 RPM?
Im into vynil, but I need my own turntable, this helped! Also I’m before 1k views
I recently moved to Japan, then I would like to buy a Japanese turntable brand. Do you have any suggestion? Up to 1000 dollars. Do you have any opinion on the TEAC TN-4D-B? Thank you for any advice.

Here's hoping you can help me in my search for a turntable that has the added feature of slowing down or speeding up a record or album. Thanks
Most do that
If the record player has a pre amp do you still need an amp with the speakers?
Hey! Maybe not necessarily related to this video. But I’ve been doing research to upgrade my old but gorgeous and unfortunately now broken Lenco L435 and I stumbled upon your channel.
All of the channels I come across mention turntables like Pro-Ject and Fluance etc etc… But on Thorens turntable there is not much to be found. Why is that?
The entry levels ones seem like reasonably priced and also good like turntables. But maybe I’m missing something why you don’t see so much about them?
Thanks for answering I’m advance!
I wanted to grab the Orbit one but it doesn’t work in Australia coz of voltage bs 😬
Are there any record players you recommend that dont need external speakers? Record players that can play just by themselves
If you want it to sound good, no
Can you please review the “1 By One 1-AD07US01 turntable”? I just purchased it and am waiting for it to arrive. I watched a video by another channel and thought it was a nice turntable. I’d like to see a review from you and know what your thoughts on it are.

I'm ngl I am looking for a turntable but I have no idea what you're talking about because I thought it was as simple as putting in the disc and the music plays

None of these turntables play 78 RPMs.
Are there any good vinyl recorders for 40-60$?
So i am COMPLETELY new in record players. Can somebody explain me, is it possible to listen music with headphones like Beyerdynamics DT1990?
And if record player does not have preamp, but i do have focusrite audio interface, will it work as a preamp instead?
I’m looking for a record player that can play stereo and mono maybe one that has two arm stylus.
Looking now for first one. Information overload
Very surprised to not see him reccomend that lp120
5 audio technica lp60 how much?
I have the Technica 60 as my main record player. I love it. Will probably get me something else soon but for now it definitely gets the job done with my sound system
