Cheers for the great interview. What a coincidence, Im reading her book since a few weeks. Its a realy good one. I believe totaly that if I implement all the things she is suggesting in her book, I will recover for sure. I also know that it will take time and its not gonna be a over night success story. Its defenitive not easy to do the mindfullness work. But I also know, if I not gonna do the work, I gonna be stuck for ever. So doing the work, beeing consistant and over time, I will be at the end of the tunnel. I wish everyone who is struggling with CFC or LC or other conditions, keep going, never give up, keep your head up. One day we all will be there at the brightside of our life.

I think a key part is acknowledging the hurt inside, befóre distancing oneself from the narrative of that ungoing loop in our mind.

Really inspiring. Jan was so lucky to have such a supportive positive GP who had the conviction he did. I wonder how much better we'd all do if we all had that from our GP's. She was also lucky to have the knowledge she did, as this helped instill her belief of recovery and how to get there. What she talks about in this interview is really thought provoking. Thank you for sharing this Jan.

-This is the problem with well-meaning academic ME/CFS practitioners and their "patient advocates" where no one is getting better.

Here are some of the mind - body programs that are now available for people with chronic fatigue syndrome and long COVID.
They seem to work for some people with CFS and long COVID. They are using the evidence based treatment for chronic pain, called “pain reprocessing therapy“, but you apply it to your symptoms such as fatigue. You teach your brain to be less Responsive to the fatigue. It works for fatigue too! Based on neuroplasticity.
Some I have looked into are as follows:
CFS health, created by Toby Morrison on in Australia
CFS recovery, created by a man in Vancouver, Miguel Bautista (Raelen has interviewed him)
Be your own medicine, by Rebecca Tolin
ANS Rewire from Dan Neufeld in Austrailia
    The Gupta Program
They all have lots of FREE videos on line. They both have courses that you can do online

Being sea sick in bed is positional vertigo. It is very unpleasant. There are very funny exercises on youtube that can help. I don't know the english word for those little stones in the ear, but they are causing it. It happens when you change the position of your head. After some days I preferd to just wait until it goes away and stay calm. At the end it is just one new symptom. But you shouldn't drive the car for the time you have it.a

Do you mean Benign positional vertigo (BPV)? I have this from time to time also, and it resolves on it's own, but can return when I get sinusitis. I've only experienced it since having CFS and I agree that it's most unpleasant. Apparently "it's a common disorder of the inner ear that causes vertigo and a false sense of spinning or movement triggered by certain head movements. It is also known as benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV). It is thought to be related to the movement of small calcium particles, called otoconia, in the inner ear."

Do you ever have anyone on your channel that isnt selling a programme or product?

Yes, everyone who wants to share is most welcome! We've got 125 recovery stories on the channel atm. A lot of people who've bounced back really want to help others and seem more open to sharing their stories publicly.

Literally, they never give any solid information “in the book, in the book, in my book” bla bla. Everyone’s selling coaching or a programme.

@@nadineeasby2968if you can rewatch with a more open mind, you will find that Jan had shared many techniques in this interview that are effective in helping the body feel a sense of safety again, which is critical to moving out of fight or flight (sympathetic) and into rest and first (parasympathetic) so that the body can begin to heal and recover. There is no magic secret that will instantly make you well that is being hidden here, it's repetitive hard work. It's all about changing your mindset and building new neutral pathways and she says in this video exactly how she did that.

Thanks so much for this. I cried a bit. However I found the editing off putting and distracting with way too many cuts for my taste. I’m sure most people would have been happy with 40 minutes and some hesitations. Unless maybe you were cutting out a dog barking or baby crying or drilling or something then I guess there’s a good reason….

Nobody takes people seriously because of this.
