    Remembering your test of the Bronson MX that was great, I want to know your opinion on the Lyrik instead of the Fox36. Your first impressions of the Lyrik 2023 compared to the Fox36 being harsh, sound like the Lyrik and the Bronson would be a perfect match. Am I right?

    I was thinking about upgrading my Fork, but cant decide between the pike, lyric or zeb, those 3 came in 27.5 160mm. I want it to be balanced, good in corners, fast speeds, jumps, rocky sections etc, and dont really prioritize any of those. Considering i dont go really really fast, probably the Lyrix is going to match up for me. What do u think? My current fork is a 2017 pike RC, it works fine, but while going fast in broken sections i can feel a lot of the terrain in my hands

    • @FxNitr0
      @FxNitr0 Před 2 lety +2

      Upgrade your damper to 2.1 RCT3 and debon air spring in your pike RC 2017 , this made a huge difference for me, also added more padded grips like the Oury grips.

    • @RPvs00
      @RPvs00 Před 2 lety +2

      I‘ve changed the damper in my 2020 Yari to Charger 2.1 RCT3, debon air 160mm for trail riding-180mm for some bike park sessions, worked out perfect for me. (With shockwizz runs to fine tune both setups)

    • @Coerced
      @Coerced Před rokem +2

      I disagree with upgrading the pike itself if you do serious riding and use 160mm. If you're sub 90kg, go with a Lyrik. If you're over 90kg, go with a Zeb

    • @martenride5949
      @martenride5949 Před 10 měsíci +1

      I went for the Zeb 170mm but i am an agressive rider who likes to speed through harsh sections. I think i would have also been fine with the Lyrik but i really like the stiff feeling of the Zeb which gives me confidence when it is getting wild. On the other hand the bike feels not as agile and heavier. In the end you always have to make compromises

    In your website article you said “Via some air pressure, compression, and rebound tweaking we arrived at a fork that tracked better, more effectively used its travel, and yet easily moved down the trail.” It would be great if you’d actually explain what pressure, compression and rebound settings you have settled on to achieve that kind of fork.

    • @CoderShare
      @CoderShare Před rokem +10

      WTF? Those settings are 100% dependent on the rider to find out.
      There is no one config that works for every person out there. The factory suggestions are just that, suggestions.

    • @rodrigopages1054
      @rodrigopages1054 Před rokem +1

      Yeah but if you give the rider Wright and the settings you as a reader can get an idea or how the damper works under certain conditions. This will then allow you to achieve your fork setup a bit quicker…
      also if you are reviewing a product that is dependent on how much pressure and clicks you use for you as a user to get good performance out of it, it’s nice to tell people what was needed for you to be satisfied. Even if other people might find satisfaction out of the products performance with a completely different setup

  • @gregking9032
    @gregking9032 Před 2 lety +7

    It sounds like Rock Shox is coping DVO on their approach to tuning a fork. I even heard the Rock Shox rep say "Off The Top" which DVO has a system call "OTT". So DVO was ahead of their time? This also explains all of the mixed reviews on their forks. They set up different then a Rock Shox fork, if you set up a DVO going into it assuming it is the competition then it will ride like crap. I know it took me a couple weeks to find my happy place with my DVO fork, but now that I found it, I don't plan to switch back

    • @MrChadLedford
      @MrChadLedford Před 2 lety
