- Inspired by artist John Harris, a master of powerful science fiction scenes, this is a Lighthouse, an Outpost on an alien world. From a livestream in June 2020, the painting was made with acrylics on a small canvas. Thank you to everyone who dropped by the stream, and to all of you thank you for watching here on CZcams.

Clearly you love all the artists I love. Great work
I love this channel. So refreshing to see other people interested in the best genre ever, fantasy and science fiction art. The host is smart too.
For those of you that collect science fiction art books these are my 4 favorite :
- Spectrum 10 by Arnie Fenner
- Icon by Frank Frazetta
- Wonderworks by Michael Whelan
- Great Fighter Jets of the Galaxy 1 by Tim Gibson

Thank you!! Cheers!
New fan! Im gonna start drawing pulp fiction sci fi stuff. You're giving me so many great ideas!
Wonderful! I hope you have a great time with it!
@@ChristopherDoll Watching videos of pros at work has always been my favorite way of beating art block... which I’ve had a lot recently, lol.
New sub here. Glad I found this channel as it is exactly what I was looking for.
Stellar work sir.
Thank you! Welcome aboard!
I just found you channel when I was looking for a Xenomorph tutorial. I love you painting! My medium ist pastels, but most pastel teachers focus on planet Earth's nature and as beautiful as it is - I'd love to learn something different too. I'm going to follow your channel for inspiration.
Thank you, and welcome aboard!
Wow! This painting is stunning, I absolutely adore the vibrant colors in the sky!! I’ve been mostly an abstract artist since 2013, but have recently dabbled in drawing alien landscapes. Anyways, in hopes of getting better at them and painting some too, I searched alien landscape art here on CZcams. Your video was the last I saved to watch later last night and the first I watched today. So glad I found your channel, I definitely subscribed!!!
Thank you! Glad to have you aboard, there's more on the way. I hope you enjoy your alien landscapes, they're a lot of fun
I love your tutoritals Im going to try to follow along with an Ipad on procreate, wish me luck!!
Fantastic! Procreate is awesome. Have fun!
@@ChristopherDoll Would you ever do a digital paint along? Made it abt halfway thru this one but having some difficulty matching the tools. Still very fun and helpful!
@@tanner791 Unfortunately I'm limited by my hardware right now - I can either stream/record OR use digital tools. So I'm a bit constrained. Plans are in place to do some upgrades which will make it easier to go digital but it's a few months off I'm afraid
Instead of trees you must have put some space craft landing in the waters and some taking off , afterall a light house is obsolete in such a futuristic world unless it is directing space to sea traffic.
You deserve WAY more views. CZcams algorithm stinks.
It's a slow-burn, for sure. But the analysis looks promising. More on the way!
can you teach me how to paint?
You can certainly learn a lot of tricks from the videos I've posted so far. I don't currently have a course available for beginning painters, but I would like to offer one soon. I would encourage you to pick up a few supplies, paint, brushes, canvas, and give it a shot. There are a lot of tutorials here on CZcams that cover the basics, maybe even better than mine. But with painting, practice is your friend.
