- In today's video I show you how to remove a Volkswagen re-circulation motor. This is a common VW problem, and when these motors fail they make loud and annoying noises, and allow your car to suck exhaust into the cabin. These recirculation motors fail in the Golf, Jetta, Rabbit, GTI, Passat and R32 and become noisy. This problem is particularly apparent on the MK5 generation, including 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010.

Great job on video.....i was getting exhaust fumes in cabin when ac was on..recirc door was stuck open..burned out motor...fallowed video done in 20 minutes..no more fumes and ver..very cold ac now!!!!! Thanks👍👍👍

Should this flap be able to be controlled while AC is off? Mine still can close and open while AC is on but when AC is off, the recirculation button remains open (will not engage). Is my motor possibly going bad here? I have a 2006 MKV Jetta btw.

Is this likely what’s wrong if the fan is blowing hard, but no air out of the vents? How do you differentiate this from a blend vent failure?
If it makes noise you’ll hear it under passenger side and feel the vibration through the whole ac unit. If your Ricirc button doesn’t seem to make a difference and you’re not hearing anything move, motor probably dead. If you aren’t getting heat, or heat is always on, probably a blend door

Does anyone know if this actuator strictly controls whether incoming air is recirculated or comes directly from the outside? My issue is the A/C takes miles to kick in and I pretty sure its a blend door issue, but not sure which actuator to dig into.
This stops the pump from taking air from the outside and just uses the air already in the car. I'm very late but this is to help others know

Why is cold air on passenger side under the glovebox on winter time with heating on ?
Check the cabin filter mate. Should be a cover on it.
If there is no cover cold air comes out, just tape over it if you don’t want to spend money lol

Hello, will this be the actuator for which direction the air flows? I have a 2015 VW Passat Wolfsburg Edition. I recently change the temperature actuator on the driver's side and now I get cold air but it doesn't matter which direction I turn the dial...I only get air from both side vents and defrost. I do NOT get it through middle and floor vents. Please help!

When I push my button nothing changes. The light illuminates to demonstrate that it should be recirculating but nothing happens. Any thoughts from the nice people on CZcams?

Yeah real simple.... 🙄 try and get access to the 6mm nuts holding that motor on!! Good luck .... this has been one of the most frustrating jobs I have ever had to try and do and do not recommend it to anyone!
